Chapter 236
We had this meal until two in the afternoon, during which we chatted a lot.
Honestly, inviting Tony over left me feeling a bit uneasy. I couldn't shake the thought that if things went south, I might lose a friend.
As I left the restaurant, I got a transfer notification for seven hundred grand.
I did some quick math: I made $1.2 million in commissions from Walker and Winest Companies, $3 million in nutrition fees from the Allen Family, plus gifts totaling $1.8 million and $8,888. FF Media also transferred $1.4 million to me, making it a cool $7 million!
After accounting for the rental and renovation costs of Dance Fusion Hall, expenses from WY Media Company, and other costs, I had spent about $2 million.
So, my bank account still had $5 million.
The company had a $10 million project in the works, with an expected profit of around $3 million. By this calculation, I was officially a multimillionaire!
And a legit one at that.
It was like a dream, and I was a bit dazed!
Just a month ago, I was an average Joe with less than fifty grand in savings. Now, I was a multimillionaire.
I had luxury cars, beautiful women by my side, a hefty savings account, designer clothes, and luxury watches. I looked the part.
But with all that came more stress, with a ton of things to handle every day.
I guess that's the price of happiness.
I suddenly remembered Brian Gonzalez had given me a bank card, and I had no idea how much was in it.
I walked to the ATM, inserted the card, and checked the balance.
I had facilitated a billion-dollar deal, so I expected a decent introduction fee.
But when the balance popped up, I was floored.
Ten million dollars!
Why so much?!
I thought one or two million would be plenty, but Brian Gonzalez was way more generous, giving me a ten million dollar introduction fee.
I forced myself to stay calm; this was a lot of money.
I remembered that night when Brian and his sons insisted on giving me the card, and even Edward Walker persuaded me to accept it, which meant Edward probably knew how much was in it.
Being a broker was insanely profitable.
I even considered going full-time.
But after calming down, I got it.
In the brokerage world, brokers take a commission for facilitating deals, which was why Brian thought I made money from helping him.
Typically, a broker's commission is around one to ten percent, depending on the negotiation.
This deal was worth about $500 million, so he gave me a two percent commission.
By that calculation, ten million dollars wasn't that much.
Including the balance I had, my savings broke through fifteen million dollars for the first time.
I was ecstatic; I was finally a true multimillionaire.
I was over the moon.
And with fifteen million dollars, the first thing on my mind wasn't buying a villa or mansion, but how to turn that fifteen million into another fifteen million!
Now wasn't the time to kick back and relax.
Thanks to what Mary said to me back then, my mindset had fundamentally changed.
Just as I was about to share the good news with Mary, Frank called.
"Frank, what's up?"
"Got a minute? Swing by my company!"
"Sure, I'll be right there!"
I hung up and drove to Prime Commerce Group.
The company's name was pretty unique.
At first, it seemed a bit awkward, but once you got used to it, it had a nice ring to it.
The company was in the southern part of the city, a logistics hub. All the big logistics companies had branches here, so it made sense for Prime Commerce Group to be here too.
The place was huge. When I got to the chairman's office, I knocked, and a tall, seductive woman walked out, looking a bit flushed.
There was even a bit of semen at the corner of her mouth.
I couldn't help but think, 'Wow, that's wild. No wonder Lillian is so chill about cheating; it all starts with Frank.'
I walked in, and despite the air conditioning being cranked up, the window behind Frank was wide open. I didn't mention it and just smiled. "Frank, what's so urgent?"
"Come, have a seat." Frank handed me a cigar. "Try this!"
Hanging out with George and the other smokers, I mostly smoked cigars now. My taste had definitely leveled up.
I took the cigar. The golden patterns looked like gold leaf.
I lit it and took a puff. The pure taste was amazing, way better than what George Jefferson had given me. "Not bad, a really good cigar!"
"Of course, it's one of the most famous cigars in the world. That one in your hand costs twelve hundred bucks!"
I was stunned. That's pricey.
Twelve hundred dollars is a month's salary for most people, but for the rich, it's just the cost of a single cigar.
Taking a puff of the cigar meant losing tens of dollars.
"If you like it, take a box with you later," Frank said.
"No need. I'm fine with just trying it," I replied.
"No need to be polite," Frank insisted. "Charles should have given you the payment by now."
I nodded. "He got me a luxury car and a license plate worth a million dollars."
"That luxury car isn't that expensive."
His words echoed George's exactly.
"This time, you did me a big favor and made a lot of money." He smiled. "Not counting Charles, I made over twenty million dollars from Brian. How much did Brian give you?"
I didn't hide it. "Ten million dollars!"
"Ten million? That's too little!" Frank said. "If it weren't for your sake, I would have charged at least a thirty percent premium."
He seemed a bit annoyed. "He probably thought you took a kickback from me."
I said, "Probably not. Ten million is already a lot. I was just helping out."
"You, always so easygoing, even when you're at a loss, you still speak up for others!" Frank said. "As your friend, I can't let you suffer."
He opened a drawer and took out a check, clearly prepared in advance. "Here's ten million dollars for you."
"Frank, I can't accept this." I quickly stood up. "I can't take this money. You've helped me so much, and I've made a lot of money following you. If I take more, I'd feel guilty."
"You're a strange one. Others can't get it even if they want it, but you don't want it." Frank walked over. "But you must take this money. If you don't, don't ask me for help in the future."
I was taken aback. "Frank, why is that?"
"I know you don't care about money, but things need to be clear. Premium acquisitions are profitable, and by the rules, you should get paid. Facilitating two deals, I think ten million is not enough. If my dad finds out, he'll blame me."
Frank forcibly put the check in my hand. "Now that you're in this circle, you have to follow some rules, or you'll suffer in the future. I won't harm you."
I felt helpless. I didn't want the money, but he insisted, giving all sorts of reasons, making it impossible to refuse.
I thought, 'Can he really get a kick out of doling out cash to others? Seems a bit far-fetched, doesn't it?'
"But Frank, I feel unworthy of it," I said.
"What's there to feel unworthy about?" Frank asked. "You don't know how ruthless those professional brokers can be. You should know Mr. Hayes from before."
"Yes, I know him!"
