Chapter 376

I made up my mind that I'd never let her suffer, not even a little. I held her face. "Kelsey, look at me. It's really me. I came all the way from Greenvale City."

"You came from Greenvale City?" A spark of hope lit up in Kelsey's terrified eyes. She focused on me and hugged me tight, crying. "John, you really came to save me. I knew you would."

"Are you hurt? Are you okay?"

Just then, Cassandra walked over. "When my people found her, she was locked up with a bunch of girls from Simbara. They were all going to be sold off to slave owners. For those people, virgins are the most valuable. Don't worry, she wasn't violated."

I let out a sigh of relief.

When Kelsey finally calmed down, she cried herself to sleep.

I picked her up. "Thanks, Cassandra. I'll transfer the rest of the payment later. I need to take Kelsey home now."

Cassandra replied, "Thanks to you, it's what I should do. I hope we can be friends."

I nodded. "See you next time!"

With that, I carried Kelsey and left quickly.

At the Royal Elegance Hotel, Mya was still waiting in the lobby. When she saw me, she ran over. "John, you found Kelsey?"

I nodded. "Take me to the room, quick. Call Lillian and Ruby, tell them I found Kelsey."

"Thank God." Mya wiped her tears. "I'll call them right away."

I put Kelsey on the bed and got some hot water to wipe her face and hands. Seeing the bruises on her body made my heart ache.

Half an hour later, Ruby and the others arrived.

I quickly made a shushing gesture, and they nodded. Lillian covered her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes.

Closing the door, Lillian grabbed my hand excitedly. "John, how did you find Kelsey?"

I said seriously, "I found a gang and offered a high reward. They rescued her from an international human trafficking ring. Along with her, they saved over a dozen people from our country."

They were all scared. "It was so dangerous. Thank goodness you were smart, or we would've regretted it forever."

Emily said, "John, you're amazing."

"Emily, you all have been running around all night. Go rest. I'll stay here." I glanced at Ruby, who was also very tired, and she winked at me.

"Okay, we'll be next door. Call us if anything happens."

"I'm not tired. I want to stay with Kelsey," Lillian said.

I sighed. Lillian's eyes were swollen from crying, and she had cold sores from the stress.

"Go rest. I'll stay here."

"Lillian, listen to John," Mya said, holding Lillian's arm.

"Alright then." Lillian glanced at the bedroom before leaving.

After they left, I felt relieved. An indescribable fatigue washed over me. I hadn't slept since last night.

Sitting by Kelsey's bed, I fell asleep without realizing it. In the middle of the night, Kelsey started crying in her sleep. "Don't hit me, don't touch me. John, come save me."

I woke up instantly and rushed over. "Don't be afraid, I'm here. With me here, no one will touch you."

Kelsey opened her eyes, her tears soaking the pillow. "John, am I dreaming? Is it really you?"

"It's me. I rescued you."

She hugged me, her body trembling. "I was so scared. I thought I'd never see you again."

I gently stroked her back. "Don't be afraid. It's all over. I won't let you out of my sight again."

"I knew it. I knew you'd come to save me." She smiled through her tears. "I was right. You really are my hero."

"I'm sorry you had to suffer." I tenderly stroked her hair.

"By the way, there were over a dozen girls locked up with me. Hurry, call the police."

She was s a kind girl, just out of danger and still thinking of others.

I said softly, "Don't worry, they've all been rescued."

"That's great." Kelsey wiped her tears. "I feel so lucky. Having you in my world is the greatest fortune of my life."

I tapped her nose. "Having you in my world is my greatest fortune too."

"Really?"

"Really." She kissed me on the lips, then wiped her own. "I forgot to brush my teeth."

"Do you want to take a bath and have something to eat?" I smiled.

She nodded shyly. "Okay, but I want you to help me!"

I nodded, without any other thoughts, and lifted her clothes. Her skin was marked with bruises from ropes and beatings. "Does this hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt anymore." She wrapped her arms around my neck, hanging onto me. I gently wiped her body and washed her hair.

After cleaning up, I called room service. Luckily, the food habits in Crystal Nation and Simbara had many similarities. I ordered some light porridge to be brought up.

After this ordeal, she became particularly sensitive and more affectionate. I thought it might be because her emotions hadn't fully settled after the scare.

After feeding her the porridge, I held her and chatted. She asked, "Do my parents know about my disappearance?"

I thought for a moment and decided not to tell her. "No, everything happened so suddenly, everyone was scared, and we haven't notified them yet."

She didn't doubt me and nodded. "That's good. Even if we told them, they might not come. After all, I'm just someone they can take or leave."

I gently knocked on her head. "To me, you are very, very important, irreplaceable."

She smiled happily. "You are my whole world too."

I stroked her smooth hair. "Go to sleep."

The next morning, I was woken up by my phone. Kelsey was lying on top of me, sleeping soundly.

I picked up the phone. It was Lillian. "John, is Kelsey awake?"

"Not yet. I'll come out now." I carefully got out of bed and opened the door. Lillian and the others came in.

"We decided to go back to Sevan City today," Emily said. "It's too unsafe here. The police are less effective than the gangs."

Hearing this, I smiled wryly. Yesterday, I thought the opposite. "That's good. Don't come here again. If you do, bring more bodyguards."

When I found out Kelsey was missing, my heart almost stopped. Luckily, Kelsey was only scared and slightly injured.

At this moment, Kelsey woke up, and they hugged and cried.

"I was so scared. You don't know how long we searched for you," Lillian said, wiping her tears.

"Thank goodness for John," Kelsey said, looking at me affectionately.

"Pack your things. We're leaving. I've chartered a plane. We'll go straight back to Sevan City," Ruby said.
