I grinned and said, "We can bring in cars from other companies or different types of cars. Our coverage won't fall short of yours. The bottom line is, they're businessmen. As long as I can pay, they're game!"
Betsy stayed quiet, and things got a bit tense. Marry quickly jumped in, "Come on, let's eat. The food here at the Royal Palace Hotel is amazing. Betsy, give it a try!"
Caitlin added, "Yeah, Betsy, try it. It's really good."
Betsy shook her head and looked at me, "So, why do you want to meet me today?"
"I told you, I really admire you. Even if we can't work together today, I still want to be friends!" As I said this, my team was already heading to other companies' branches. I never put all my eggs in one basket and always had a backup plan.
The reason for choosing Betsy was to go head-to-head with Stellar Media Network. WY Media Company had to take them on to make a name for itself in Sevan City.
I looked at Betsy sincerely, and she finally smiled a bit. "What an interesting young man. Do you really have that much faith in me?"
"You should have faith in yourself," I shot back.
"It's not about faith; it's about resources. Whoever has more resources wins," she said bluntly. "As far as I know, WY Media Company is new, less than three months old. Can you compete with Stellar Media Network?"
"To be exact, it's two days shy of two months."
"See, you admitted it yourself. So if I choose you, wouldn't I be setting myself up to fail?"
"Some companies have been around for ten years, so what? They still haven't done much. WY Media Company might be new, but we're young and full of energy. Betsy replied, "A lot, at least the institutions in Sevan City would come to us!"
I thought, 'Do you think other companies don't advertise? They actually spend even more on advertising.'
She asked, "Can I see the script?"
I smiled. "Sorry, that's a company secret. But I can tell you we already have outlines for fifty videos, all original, and each one can be connected."
Betsy looked curious but conflicted. After a bit, she said, "You've got my attention. You win!"
I smiled. "It's not about winning, it's a win-win!" Marry and Caitlin exchanged glances and laughed.
The conversation became much more pleasant after that. Marry pulled out a plan from her bag. "Betsy, this is our plan. Take a look!"
Betsy took the plan and read it carefully, getting more excited as she went. "Wow, this plan is fantastic! If we can pull this off, I can even make WY Media Company our designated partner for the Sevan City Taxi Association."
"That's awesome!" Even though the Taxi Association wasn't an official organization, it had a lot of pull.
Betsy said, "Come on, Mr. Cena, let me toast to you."
I quickly stood up. "Betsy, just call me John!"
Betsy nodded. "In recent years, the taxi business has gotten tougher, even with help from the relevant departments. Compared to ten years ago, the association has nearly half the registered members! I've been trying to find ways to boost members' income, but it's not enough. This industry needs a change, so I'm asking for your help!"
All this talk tonight was leading up to this moment. I quickly said, "Betsy, just tell me what you need. I'll do my best."
"Alright!" Betsy smiled and said, "I'll take this plan with me. Tomorrow, send a representative from your company, and leave the rest to me."
After dinner, I got Betsy's contact info and added her on Facebook. Her Facebook name was her real name, and her profile picture was of herself. "Drive safe, Betsy. I won't see you off."
"Okay!" Betsy smiled and drove away.
"Marry, you're the luckiest person around me!" I couldn't help but hug her and give her a few big kisses.
Marry laughed and said, "Feeling grateful? How about coming to my place tonight?"
"Well, not tonight!" I shook my head.
"Why?" Marry frowned slightly. "Still dealing with yesterday's issues?"
"No, some friends from Greenvale City are here, and I need to entertain them!"
Marry nodded. "Alright."
Back at the company, I felt completely relaxed. Just then, there was a knock on the office door. "Come in!"
To my surprise, it was Aurora who walked in. "Aurora!"
After a month of interning at the company, Aurora had shed her inexperience and looked very professional in her business attire. "Mr. Cena!"
I couldn't help but laugh. "There’s no one else around, so no need to be so formal."
Aurora stuck out her tongue. "John, did you forget I'm interning at your company?"
I patted her head. "Sorry, I've been neglecting you. How's your internship going?"
She nodded. "The colleagues are very nice, and Mia takes good care of me!"
Speaking of which, her expression turned a bit strange. "John, aren't you afraid Lucy will find out? Last time Ms. Walker held a meeting, Lucy was there too. I was afraid they would fight."
I said, "That's not something you should worry about. Just keep quiet, and I'll handle it."
I thought to myself, 'It's not just Lucy. Ms. Walker, Rita, Ms. Martinez, and Lauren are all mine!'
Then I asked, "How's Daniel doing?"
"He's doing well. I heard he was the top performer this month!"
"That's good."
"Cara called a while ago, but you were unreachable," Aurora said. "By the way, Cara and Samuel said they want to visit!"
I was very surprised."When did they say they were coming?"
"Tomorrow!"
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I just remembered!" Aurora pouted.
Cara and Samuel have been very good to me and my family. I quickly took out my phone and called Cara. "Cara, it's John. Alright, I'll pick you up at the station tomorrow. No problem, I'll make the arrangements! What, you said my parents are coming too? Alright, I got it!"
After hanging up, Aurora came over, and I glared at her. "Why didn't you tell me mom and dad were coming too?"
"I didn't know either!''
I said, ''Alright, go tell Daniel to bring his girlfriend and come with me to pick them up tomorrow. You too!"
