Chapter 138
Today's Jenny was irresistibly charming, exuding the allure of a woman with every move she made.
She was definitely a figure that drew attention from all.
Reflecting on taking matters into my own hands last night, I felt a rush of satisfaction. This woman seemed like a hidden treasure just waiting to be discovered by me.
Grace sent a message: [You heartless guy, I dressed up so innocently for you, and you didn't even compliment me.]
I replied: [With so many people in the elevator, how could I compliment you? Are you afraid that others wouldn't know?]
Grace: [Well, I don't care. I want you to pamper me!]
I rubbed my nose; she was really a little demon.
John: [How do you want me to pamper you?]
Grace: [My heart hurts!]
John: [Do you want a massage?]
Grace: [Okay!]
She sent a shy expression.
Grace: [Noon, rooftop, don't be late!]
I glanced at her, and the flirtatious woman continued to throw seductive glances my way. I felt a pang of concern, thinking, 'This could lead to trouble. What if Lily notices the scent of her perfume?’
John: [How about tonight?]
I replied: [How about I treat you to dinner as the host?]
Grace: [Great, that's a deal! I want to go to the Gourmet Glitterati!]
What?
You want to go to the Gourmet Glitterati?
What are you thinking? A meal there costs thirty to forty grand.
John: [You think I'm a wealthy man? How about Housen Western Restaurant, come or not.]
Housen was a foreign restaurant with an average cost exceeding a thousand dollars. To some, it might be considered just street food.
Grace: [Housen it is, what's so special about it?]
Grace: [Tonight, I will definitely make you fall under my spell.]
I chuckled and didn't reply further.
Later, Mary sent a message: [John, I want to see you!]
She was always straightforward like that. I replied: [Come to the BS Building, Room 2018, I'll be waiting for you.]
Mary: [Okay, I have a lot to say to you.]
She sent a distressed expression.
Come to think of it, I hadn't paid much attention to her for two or three days, and I actually missed her.
John: [We'll talk enough when you arrive.]
I stretched lazily, figuring that it was a quiet morning and I didn't need to fret about Paul and Grace's project.
Rising from my seat, I approached Lily. "Ms. Wilson, the liaison from Walker Company, is looking for me. I'll go see her now.”
Lily remained expressionless. "You're the deputy manager; you don't need to report these matters to me. Just liaise directly with Ms. Smith in the future."
She was still angry.
This was the moment to stand my ground. If I backed down now, knowing her temper, she would likely blow a minor interaction with female colleagues out of proportion. It was important to establish clear boundaries. I nodded and knocked on the door of the director's office.
Upon entering, I braced myself for a challenging encounter with Jenny, but to my surprise, she welcomed me with a warm smile. "Please proceed, and remember the task I assigned you yesterday.”
The power of love seemed overwhelming. Jenny seemed like a completely different person to me.
Leaving the office, Lily's eyes were shooting daggers. She probably didn't expect me to go directly to Jenny.
Grabbing my bag, I walked past her without even glancing at her.
I headed down to the BS Building with a determination to finalize the broadband setup and kickstart the recruitment process that day. It was crucial for the company to start operating smoothly as soon as possible, and I especially wanted Mary to witness my efforts.
At nine in the morning, a technician arrived to install the broadband. Just then, Mary showed up, entered the company, and exclaimed, "John, this is your company?”
I nodded with a smile. "Yes."
I went up to hug her and whispered softly in her ear, "I've missed you so much."
"Me too!"
She hugged me tightly. "I'm sorry. I've been so busy these past few days that I neglected you."
"Silly, work comes first. Whenever you want, we can meet."
By the words, the maiden bestowed upon me a sweet and tender kiss.
The fragrance, needless to say, was utterly exquisite.
After a moment of closeness, I mentioned, "Even though this company is small at the moment, it will surely improve in the future. Plus, I sealed a major deal yesterday!”
"Really?" Mary was even more excited than me.
"I might make this much." I held up two fingers.
She exclaimed, "Two hundred grand, that's a lot!"
I shook my head and grinned, "No, it's two million!"
"Wow, John, I knew you could do it!"
"I've said it before. I want to earn many millions. When I have the money, I'll hold your hand and publicly declare our relationship in front of your brother."
"Okay!"
She kissed me sweetly again.
"And I've partnered with a friend to open a dance training center near HT Plaza. It's under renovation these days!" I proclaimed boastfully.
"What's the name of the dance training center? When it opens, I'll become a member."
"I haven't decided on a name yet!" I scratched my head.
Mary playfully flicked my forehead with her slender fingers. "I asked you to invest, not to invest recklessly. You haven't come out of Skyliho yet, have you? Running around, can you handle it all?"
“I won't be responsible for managing the dance training center. I don't fully grasp it either. I'll focus on marketing, while she will handle recruitment and dance instruction. Since it's closer to Skyliho here, I can come over during the day for recruitment. Once we have all the necessary staff, I can utilize Skyliho's resources. Like you said, 'Borrow a chicken to lay eggs!' If I spend a day at Skyliho, resources will continuously flow to that side.”
I had my game plan all set. The resources Skyliho obtained were just what the crew needed. And as for the business cards I got at the last event, I could handle those on my own.
Telemarketing was a good method, but face-to-face visits were even more effective.
"You're right, but you still need help. If no one is watching over at the company, they might play tricks behind your back."
I stroked my chin. "That's true, but I have a backup plan ready. Don't worry."
Mary nodded. "There's a media conference in a couple of days. Are you going?"
A media conference?
"Why haven't I heard about it?"
“Only the top players in the Sevan media industry are allowed to attend. The event is organized by the Media Association, and without some clout, you can't even get past the door.”
"How did you find out about it? Your family isn't in this business."
"Indeed, our family isn't in this business, but don't forget, our family is the main financial backer for those media companies. Without backers, can those media companies survive?"
Mary proudly announced, "We also received an invitation from the Media Association. Since my brother is busy, would you be willing to accompany me to the event?”
"Will there be many invited financial enterprises present?"
"Yes, at least a hundred," she replied with a smile. "In fact, the media conference is also intended to promote networking among members of the Media Association. If you put in the effort, you might just secure a deal.”
My mind instantly became active. Even if I couldn't secure a deal, it was a great opportunity to broaden my horizons. I had to go, I must go!
