Chapter 432
"What? A thousand people?" Cara and Samuel exchanged looks of pure shock. "Last time we were here, there were only like twenty or thirty people. How did it blow up so fast?"
I scratched my nose. "The company's been doing great, and we've been hiring like crazy."
"Piper, do I look okay?" Eryx asked, looking a bit nervous.
Piper shot back, "I told you to wear a shirt, but no, you didn't listen. Now you're worried?"
"How was I supposed to know John’s company had so many people?"
"It's fine, Dad." I led them into WY Media Company. Sophia quickly stood up, "Mr. Cena, good morning!"
I nodded, and the busy employees also stood up and greeted me.
"This is my media company!"
"This is the new media company under the group."
"And this is the group company." I took them on a tour of the place. Marry and Mia had already been alerted.
Holly also put down her work to join us. Especially Marry and Mia, who got all formal, competing to serve tea and water. Piper and Eryx looked at them. "You’re too polite. We can help ourselves."
I couldn't help but laugh. The spacious office suddenly felt crowded. "Alright, you all go back to work. I got it from here!"
Marry bit her lip. "Call me if you need anything."
"Mr. Cena, I'll be waiting outside if you need me," Mia said.
Holly added, "I'll get back to work then."
Aurora and Daniel also returned to their workstations, partly to avoid others discovering our relationship.
"Were those girls just now all your employees?" Samuel swallowed hard. "They are so beautiful, even prettier than celebrities."
Cara immediately pinched Samuel's thigh hard, causing him to grimace in pain.
I said, "Yeah, they are all company leaders. Some other managers are outside, and we have several branches in other places, including one in Greenvale City."
Hearing my explanation, Samuel was very surprised. "John, I never expected your business would grow so big. No one in the Cena family can compare to you."
"With Daniel working here, I feel at ease," Cara said with a smile.
Eryx added, "If possible, help out other family members too."
I nodded. "You can tell them when you go back. If they want to come, I'll arrange it. If not, don't force them."
Hearing this, Piper seemed a bit unhappy but didn't say anything.
We stayed at the company until eleven. I said, "It's getting late. Let's go eat!"
We booked a private room at the Royal Palace Hotel and ordered the highest-level set meal. Piper and Eryx were very satisfied. In the end, I didn't let Marry and the others join us.
After the meal, I took them to a five-star hotel and booked two presidential suites.
"This hotel is too expensive. We can't stay here. Ten thousand dollars a night could be a down payment for a house in a small town!" Eryx said.
Cara and Samuel also advised, "You can't spend money like this. A hotel costing one or two hundred dollars is fine!"
I smiled and said, "The purpose of making money is to live a better life! I'll buy a house soon, so you won't have to stay in a hotel anymore!"
"John has prepared it for us, so let's stay," Piper said. "He's a big boss now. If people find out he booked a cheap hotel for his parents, they would gossip."
"That's true!" I didn't expect Piper to say something like that. But her words did the trick, and Eryx and the others agreed.
Once inside the room, they were blown away by the luxury. "This is too fancy, like a palace!"
I said, "If you need anything, just call the front desk. I'll come to settle the bill tomorrow!"
"John, if you're busy, go ahead. Daniel and Aurora can stay with us," Eryx said.
I hesitated for a moment, then shook my head. "You don't visit often, and I don't have much going on this afternoon. I can show you around Sevan City!"
That afternoon, I took them around Sevan City, shopping all the way. I bought Eryx a regular car from a dealership so that we could carry everything. I wanted to get a nicer one, but he said it wasn't necessary and that he'd be heartbroken if a good car got scratched. In the end, I picked a decent car for regular folks.
Daniel pulled me aside when he saw it. "John, can you lend me some money? I want to buy a car for my dad too!"
I slapped the back of his head. "No loans. If you want a car, earn it yourself!" It wasn't that I didn't want to help, but I didn't want him to get used to it. If the money was for a house or an emergency, I'd give it without him asking. But for vanity, no way.
"Alright!" Daniel sighed, then his eyes lit up with determination. "I'll work hard to buy a car for my dad and a house for the family!"
I patted his shoulder. "That's the spirit!"
After leaving the dealership, it was already evening. We picked a random restaurant with a nice vibe for dinner. Piper, Eryx, Cara, and Samuel said they were too tired and wanted to go back to the hotel to rest.
"Dad, Mom, Cara, Samuel, call me if you need anything!" After dropping them off at the hotel, I headed to Skyward Tower, where Connie was waiting for me.
As soon as I got in the car, she sat on my lap, ignoring Ava in the front seat. "Did you miss me?"
I buried my face in her chest. "I missed you!"
"Should we go back to the hotel or the island?"
"Hotel!"
We quickly arrived at the hotel and had a great time. Even though I felt a bit sore, I made sure to satisfy her. Of course, this time ended with her begging for mercy.
Afterwards, Connie said, "I have to go back to Greenvale City tomorrow."
"So soon?" I stroked her back. "Can't you stay a few more days?"
She gave me a playful look. "Stay a few more days so you can bully me more? Do you know how sore my waist and legs are these past two days?"
I chuckled. "You started it!"
She said, "I could stay a few more days, but my work here is done."
"You've found an investment target?"
"Yes!" She nodded. "Sevan City's media industry is very developed. This investment is very important for our group!"
"So, you're investing in the media industry?"
"That's right!" She sighed. "If you were willing to finance, I wouldn't have to look elsewhere."
The company was growing rapidly and didn't lack funds. Even if we financed, the Wilson family couldn't help much. The only area they could help with was real estate, but I planned to handle that myself!
However, what I was most curious about was which company she invested in. "Which company did you invest in?"
She replied, "A medium-sized media company established two years ago. It's doing well, with good cash flow and healthy assets."
