Chapter 357
"Look, there's no reason. I said you can't go, so you can't go."
Linda shot back, "John, I know what you're up to. If you even think about going, I'll head straight to the hospital and get an abortion!"
I stared at her, feeling helpless. Why did she always have to bring up abortion?
"Don't overthink it. There are other people going too."
"Men are all the same. You're no different from Steven."
I sighed, "Alright, alright, I won't go. I'll stay here in Greenvale City with you. Just stop with the threats; it's making me sick."
"Reluctant? If you're so reluctant, then just get lost!"
I walked over and hugged her, but she struggled like crazy. "Let go of me!"
"Don't move, you might hurt the baby."
Linda gritted her teeth, "You just got out of bed with me and now you wanna go on a date with another woman! Are you even human?"
"It's really not like that."
I coaxed softly, "I promise I won't go. I'll stay with you in Greenvale City."
After a lot of sweet-talking, she finally calmed down. She snorted, "Carry me to the shower."
"Yes, my queen!"
I carried her into the bathroom.
Naturally, we ended up having sex again. Turns out, she was pretty lustful too.
Even more than me.
"Slow down, you're pregnant!"
"John, are you even a man?" Linda said. "I'm really horny right now. Can you satisfy me or not?"
"So what's the deal with you and Stella?"
"That's different."
Linda propped her hands on the glass, "Just do it."
I touched my nose. They say pregnant women have higher sex drives. I could only be careful.
I stayed with her until noon, had lunch with her, and only left the apartment with her permission.
This afternoon, I had an appointment with Wendy at a private swimming and fitness club.
At 2 PM, I showed up and saw Wendy and Abigail swimming in these super conservative one-piece swimsuits.
In the huge pool, it was just the three of us.
I was amazed. Summers in Greenvale City were scorching, the pool should be packed, but it was just us three, like it was reserved just for us.
"Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Kingsley!"
"John, come swim!"
Wendy waved, and as she emerged from the water, her chest looked massive.
Not any smaller than Lillian's or Lauren's.
Abigail was backstroking with a swim cap and goggles on.
I changed into my swim trunks, showing off my toned abs, and jumped into the pool.
I swam over to Wendy, who whispered to me, "I talked to Abigail. She has a good impression of you. Go for it."
I smiled, but thought, 'Even if she likes me, I can't let myself fall for her. The Kingsley family is incredibly powerful, and I can't risk upsetting Quinlan either.'
But to help Quinlan, I had to keep getting closer to her.
"Thanks."
Wendy giggled, "Abigail is usually very aloof. This is the first time I've seen her go out with a guy."
I was shocked. 'No way,' I thought. 'Did I actually score a date on the first try? How is that even possible?'
"So I have high hopes for you. Don't worry, Mr. Kingsley is a good person. Don't feel pressured."
I was almost in tears. Of course, I felt pressured dealing with someone like that.
"Yeah, I'll do my best."
Wendy whispered again, "Go teach Abigail how to swim!"
"Isn't she swimming just fine?"
She whispered, "Abigail only knows how to backstroke."
I thought, 'Got it.'
I touched my nose, "Alright, I'll go over."
I didn't get why Wendy was so eager to set me up with Abigail. This was only our second meeting.
"Ms. Kingsley!"
I swam over and slowly followed beside her.
"John?"
She smiled, and her body tilted. I quickly held her hand, "You okay?"
"I'm fine!" she said, blushing deeply from the simple touch. "Thanks! I'm not a very good swimmer. I just learned how to backstroke recently."
"How about I teach you to swim?"
"Wouldn't that be too much trouble for you?"
"Not at all. Swimming's actually pretty simple. You just need to get the hang of it. You're smart, you'll pick it up quick."
We went to the shallow end, and I had her hold onto the edge and paddle with her hands. "That's right, just like that."
I walked over and supported her abdomen. She didn't say anything, but her neck turned red this time. "Let go, paddle, and move forward slowly."
"Okay!" She responded softly and followed my instructions to paddle.
"It really works!"
She said excitedly, "Wendy said I'm a klutz at sports, and I thought so too. I didn't expect to learn so quickly. It's all thanks to you."
I said, "That's because you're smart."
I supported her abdomen as she swam for about ten minutes. Then Wendy swam by us, "Abigail, you're too slow. Watch me!"
She jumped into the water and leaped out like a mermaid, water droplets scattering beautifully.
"John, I want to try swimming on my own."
"Okay. Just swim forward. I'll be right beside you."
I slowly let go, and she swam towards the deep end.
Although not fast, she was indeed swimming.
"Abigail, catch up with me!"
Wendy swam ahead, occasionally looking back.
"Wait for me, I'll catch up soon."
Despite her delicate appearance, Abigail was very determined.
Her paddling slowed down, clearly tired, but she kept swimming forward resolutely.
I kept my eyes on her, and then I noticed something was wrong. The next second, she started sinking.
I was shocked and rushed over, grabbing her waist and pulling her to the surface. She choked on some water and said painfully, "I got a cramp in my leg."
"Don't worry, I'll get you to the shore."
Quickly, I brought her to the edge and lifted her right leg to massage it. Her calf muscles were stiff from the cramp.
"It hurts!" She gasped.
Wendy hurried over, "Abigail, you okay?"
"I'm fine, just overexerted. My leg cramped."
Wendy looked guilty. If she hadn't kept calling, Abigail wouldn't have chased her.
After two minutes, Abigail said, "John, I'm okay now."
I quickly let go of her soft foot, "You're a beginner and haven't fully mastered the technique. Overexertion can easily lead to fatigue or cramps like this."
She lowered her head, a bit embarrassed, like a student being scolded by a teacher.
Her delicate features and fluttering eyelashes were very beautiful.
I was entranced.
Wendy said, "John, you're making Abigail blush."
I snapped out of it and scratched my head, "Sorry!"
Abigail shook her head, "I should be thanking you."
Later, we didn't feel like swimming anymore. As we left the pool, Wendy suggested, "How about we go watch a show?"
