Chapter 375
It was clear Cassandra was no match for Francis.
The long knife slashed her shoulder, and blood soaked into her tank top. Pain flickered across her face, but she didn't make a sound.
That was when I noticed the scars on her back. No wonder those big guys were scared of her; she was tough as nails.
"Get the hell out of here!" She shoved Francis away, switching her knife from a slash to a thrust, aiming right for his gut. If it hit, he'd be either dead or seriously messed up.
But the knife just tore his coat and grazed his waist. Blood appeared on his waist.
Francis's forehead veins bulged, and he went nuts, slashing wildly at Cassandra.
Cassandra's strength was fading.
Seeing the knife about to come down on her, I gritted my teeth and swung my own knife.
The force almost knocked the knife out of my hand. Plus, my hand injury hadn't healed yet, and with just one move, the scabbed wound tore open, soaking the bandage with fresh blood.
I was pissed. All I cared about was rescuing Kelsey.
I yanked Cassandra aside and charged forward with my knife. Anyone who tried to stop me from saving Kelsey, I'd fight them to the death.
"Fuck you!" At that moment, all my pent-up anger exploded, and the pain in my hand was temporarily blocked out.
I used almost all my strength. On the fourth strike, I knocked the knife out of Francis's hand. Under the shocked gazes of his men, I slashed his leg.
I didn't want to cause any deaths in a foreign country, so I kicked him to the ground and stomped hard on his left hand. His hand bones broke with a crunch.
Francis let out a horrific scream, and his men, enraged, charged at me with their knives. I pressed my knife against Francis's throat. "I'll kill him if you keep moving!"
The translation app on my phone also emitted a mechanical voice.
Everyone stopped in their tracks, cursing one after another.
Cassandra stepped forward and said something to them, and the crowd instantly became fearful.
She then walked up to me, a look of admiration in her eyes. "Impressive."
I said, "Save the flattery. I just want to find the person I'm looking for!"
Cassandra was momentarily stunned, then nodded. She picked up the knife and drove it through Francis's hand, the sharp tip piercing the wooden floor.
Francis screamed again.
Cassandra asked, "Now you're in my control. Yield or die!"
He cursed.
Cassandra said nothing, pulled out the knife, and this time drove it straight through his thigh, brutally and terrifyingly.
His men, hearing his screams, were furious but didn't dare to speak out. They quickly dropped their knives and knelt on the ground, muttering something.
From their expressions, I could guess they were probably surrendering.
At this point, Francis also spoke, and the translation app roughly translated, "I surrender."
Cassandra coldly smiled, ignoring her shoulder wound, and took out a phone from under the table to make a call.
Within minutes, a group of people rushed in from outside, surrounding them.
A white-haired old man in his sixties or seventies, Timothy Reed, walked in from outside, eagerly grabbing Cassandra's hand and saying something, occasionally glancing at me.
Timothy nodded, then waved his hand, and a group of people took them away, including Francis.
Two female doctors came in and started stitching her wound without even using anesthesia. Just watching made me wince; she was seriously tough.
Timothy walked over to me and said something, which the translation app translated in real-time, "Young man, thank you for saving my daughter!"
"You're welcome. I saved her to save myself." I didn't like the gang. If it weren't for saving Kelsey, I would never have dealt with such people in my life.
Timothy nodded. "I know about your situation. To show my gratitude, I will help you find the person you're looking for."
"Thank you!"
"Are you interested in becoming my son-in-law?"
I was stunned. "What did you just say?"
I was afraid the translation app had made a mistake, so I asked again.
Timothy laughed heartily, patting my shoulder. "I think highly of you. Stay and marry my daughter."
The black-clad men in the restaurant also gasped in unison.
I understood this sentence. From their surprised expressions, I realized the translation app hadn't made a mistake; he really wanted me to be his son-in-law.
I swallowed hard. "You must be joking."
"I'm not joking." Timothy gave me a meaningful look. "My daughter is also very pleased with you. Stay and help her become the queen of Moxford. You'll be her consort."
I just wanted to save Kelsey and go home. "Thank you for your kindness, but I don't want to."
The mechanical voice played, and the black-clad men instantly became angry. "It's an honor that Cassandra likes you, and you dare to refuse her? We'll kill you!"
"Ulysses, stand down!" Cassandra walked over after bandaging her wound.
Ulysses said, "But, Cassandra, he disrespected you."
"I said, stand down," Cassandra scolded.
Ulysses reluctantly stepped back.
She walked up to me and said, "John, I am very grateful to you. From now on, you are my most honored guest."
I quickly stepped aside, avoiding her. "You're welcome. I was just protecting myself."
She looked up, her eyes filled with even more admiration. "You are the bravest person I've ever met, and the most handsome. I like you."
I was astonished, 'Isn't this too bold? Or the women here all this open?'
I said, "Sorry, I already have someone. I love her very much!"
"But that doesn't stop me from liking you," Cassandra said, "Don't worry, my people should be back soon. Then you can reunite with that person."
"Thank you very much," I said.
Timothy left, leaving dozens of people behind. Cassandra sat down again and poured me a drink.
Because of her injury, her face was a bit pale, but she was still quite beautiful, very cold, but with delicate features.
I was a bit stunned when she came out again in a pink outfit.
At that moment, hurried footsteps came from outside, and then a few black-clad men carried Kelsey over.
I was overjoyed. After a day and night of searching, I finally found her.
"Cassandra, we've found her," The leading man said.
Cassandra said, "Go check if it's the person you're looking for."
I nodded, unable to contain my excitement. When I saw Kelsey's pale, panicked face, my heart ached. "Kelsey, I'm here."
"Don't touch me, don't touch me. I want to see John." Kelsey clung to herself tightly.
"It's okay, it's me. I've come to save you." My heart ached as she struggled desperately.
"No, you're not John. He is in Greenvale City. He can't be here. Don't touch me. If you touch me, John won't like me anymore." Even at this moment, Kelsey was still thinking about me.
