I almost dropped my phone.
I thought, 'Is this the big gift Connie was talking about? This gift is insane. In just one afternoon, the signed deals are worth seven or eight hundred million dollars! I asked, "Aren't you going to answer Edward's call?"

With that, she hung up the phone.
But after a while, the phone rang again. I grinned. "You should answer it. What if Edward has something urgent?"
She glared at me. "You think I don't know your sneaky intentions?"
I put on an innocent face, and she bit her lip. "Then be gentle!"
Then she answered the phone.
"Hello, Lauren, are you resting?" Edward's voice came through the phone, and a different kind of excitement surged through me. I flipped over, and Lauren almost cried out. She quickly covered her mouth, her eyes pleading.
"Lauren, what's wrong?"
She tried hard to stay calm.
Edward continued, "I came to Greenvale City. Aren't you in Greenvale City? I called John, but I couldn't get through. Is he okay?"
I thought, 'Edward came to Greenvale City?'
Lauren explained, "He drank a lot today. He probably hasn't woken up yet."
"No wonder he didn't answer the phone." Edward laughed. "Where are you? I'll come to find you!"
"Better not," Lauren said, trying hard to endure while dealing with Edward.
"Why?"
"I'm not feeling well!"
"What's wrong? Is it serious? Have you seen a doctor? Send me your location right now, and I'll come to you." Edward said anxiously on the phone.
"No need. Maybe I'm just too tired these past few days."
Her body suddenly tensed up, and I stopped. For about three or four seconds, she was speechless.
