Chapter 393

Marlow whipped out his phone and started scrolling. After a few minutes, his eyes went wide. "Mr. Cena, WY Media Company is yours?"

I nodded. "Yep, that's right."

Marlow asked, "Then why are you here?"

I cut him off, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. Then, do you want to work for me? Whatever Skyliho Group is paying you, I'll top it by ten percent."

"Of course! Only an idiot would say no!" Marlow replied. "Steven ticked off someone important; his company won't last in Greenvale City!"

"Good. If you're in, I've got two contracts for you to check out." I handed him two documents: one was an employment contract, the other a confidentiality agreement.

He skimmed through them. "No issues here."

With that, he signed his name.

I said, "Awesome. I hope you two can work well together. I won't be in Greenvale City for long, but I'll send a supervisor from HQ soon."

"Got it, Mr. Cena." Marlow's whole demeanor changed. I figured he realized that with my money, I could easily control him.

We left the office, and I called Lauren over. "This is the VP of WY Media Company's engineering department. From now on, all renovation projects go through her!"

"Hi, Lauren!"

"Hello, Mr. Harrison, Calliope!" Lauren said, shaking hands smoothly.

After the intro, I added, "The company's growing fast, so get up to speed with our processes. For the next two days, you two will take turns going to HQ for three days of training. I'll let HR know, and the company will cover all expenses."

Calliope nodded. "Understood, Mr. Cena!"

I felt a wave of relief when I left Riverfront Estates. I thought coming to Greenvale City would be tough, but it turned out to be a great move for expansion.

Just then, Yves called, asking me to come over.

After a moment's reflection, I grabbed a cab to ZenTea Garden, where Yves was waiting in a room on the top floor.

I hadn't seen Yves in half a month, and my mindset had changed a lot, especially after some life-and-death experiences.

Honestly, I didn't want to get tangled in their messy affairs, but I wasn't scared of him anymore.

"Mr. Harrison, long time no see," I greeted him with a smile.

"Long time no see" Yves smiled faintly.

After some small talk, he said, "Seems like you ran into some trouble in Crystal Nation. You should've called me; I have people there who could help."

I smiled. "It wasn't a big deal, already sorted out. I wouldn't want to trouble you, Mr. Harrison."

He raised his teacup, saying, "Here, consider this tea a welcome."

"Thank you, Mr. Harrison."

After sipping the tea, I said, "Mr. Harrison, it might take a while to arrange Zoey, whom you asked me to contact."

Before I could finish, he interrupted, "No rush, that's not why I called you here today."

I looked at him, curious.

"I need to ask you something, and you must be honest," Yves said, looking straight at me. "Are you involved with Abigail from The Kingsley Family?"

I was taken aback. "Mr. Harrison, why do you say that?"

A hint of excitement flashed in Yves' eyes. "So you are together."

I waved my hands. "No, Ms. Kingsley is way out of my league. Mr. Harrison, please don't joke."

"It's hard to keep anything hidden in Greenvale City." Yves looked at me with great interest. "I just didn't expect that Ms. Kingsley would fall for you. You're really lucky."

No matter what he said, I wouldn't admit it. "Mr. Harrison, I don't mind, but Ms. Kingsley's family is very prominent. If this gets out and tarnishes her reputation, it wouldn't be good."

Yves smiled. "It's okay if you don't admit it. But don't worry, even if Quinlan finds out, he won't do anything to you."

I said, "Mr. Harrison, you're joking. I have nothing to do with Ms. Kingsley. So what if Quinlan knows?"

Yves said, "John, I'm getting more and more intrigued by you."

Hearing this, I thought, 'It's gross having a guy interested in me.'

"Treasure this opportunity. If you can be with Abigail, no one in Greenvale City will dare to mess with you." He poured me another cup of tea. "Alright, let's drop this topic. There's actually another reason I called you here today."

I asked, "What is it?"

Yves said, "My father has always wanted to invite you to our home, but you went to Crystal Nation, so it got delayed."

"You're too kind!"

"Come home with me later. Although The Harrison Family isn't super famous, we do know how to repay kindness," Yves invited.

I wanted to refuse, but Yves added, "If you refuse again, it means you're not giving me face."

I smiled wryly, "Alright then."

After finishing the tea, I followed Yves to his place.

I thought his car would be some high-end luxury ride, but to my surprise, it was just a regular business car.

Seeing my surprise, Yves said, "Surprised I didn't drive a luxury car?"

I nodded. "Yeah, kinda."

This was too low-key.

"A luxury car is just for show. Your status doesn't get better because of the car you drive. On the contrary, a person of high status riding in this car makes the car valuable." Yves smiled and said, "There are many wealthy and powerful people in Greenvale City. You can't tell. Being too flashy will get you into trouble sooner or later."

I could tell this was Yves' heartfelt advice, teaching me the importance of keeping a low profile.

Yves added, "Also, don't underestimate this business car. It's a custom-made bulletproof version. Even a grenade might not penetrate it. It's made of aerospace materials and costs 15 million dollars."

I was shocked and thought, 'Spending 15 million dollars to customize a bulletproof business car? Why not just buy a tank?'

For a moment, I didn't know whether to call him low-key or just someone with too much money to spend.

Soon, the car stopped in front of a high-end garden villa.

This was in the center of Greenvale City. Such a villa would cost at least 300 million dollars!

I thought I was quite wealthy, but now I realized I was nothing compared to the rich people here.

As soon as I entered, Quinlan came out. "John, you came without telling me."

Since I saved someone from a fire, Quinlan's way of addressing me had changed, making it clear we had a close relationship.

I greeted, "Mr. Harrison."

"Don't call me Mr. Harrison, call me Quinlan!" Quinlan hooked his arm around my shoulder. "Come with me!"

I glanced at Yves, who smiled. He said, "Go ahead, my parents are here."

After pulling me aside, Quinlan whispered, "How did you come with him?"

"Mr. Harrison invited me for tea and then invited me here," I said helplessly.

"He didn't bully you, did he? Don't be afraid. If he dares to bully you, I won't let him off."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry, he didn't!"

"Really?"

"Really!"

"Alright then." Quinlan sighed in relief, then winked and said, "You went to Crystal Nation to have fun with women and didn't take me. Look at you, so thin. You must have been having sex with women every day, right?"

I thought, 'If only I were having sex with women every day.'

I then answered, "It's a long story!"

"Alright, let's go meet my parents first. You can tell me more later," Quinlan said.

Entering the hall, I saw a plump middle-aged man sitting there, with a wealthy-looking middle-aged woman beside him.

Quinlan said to me, "John, this is my dad, and this is my mom!"

I quickly greeted them.

"Hello." Remy Harrison nodded. "We wanted to invite you over half a month ago, but you went to Crystal Nation. Was everything smooth there?"

I said with a smile, "Thank you for your concern, everything went smoothly."

Remy laughed heartily, and his wife, Rosalind Thistle, also smiled and said, "Quinlan told me that if it weren't for you that day, the whole Greenvale City might have been in chaos."
