Chapter 383

So, just like that, another couple of days slipped by, and our hopes turned into pure disappointment.

I was starting to freak out a bit. I thought, 'Is this some super remote sea route or what?'

Five days had passed, and we hadn't seen a single ship.

I couldn't help but think of those movies about being stuck on a deserted island. 'Am I really gonna be stranded here for years? What about my three kids, my parents, and those women?'

The only thing keeping me sane was having Cassandra around.

Just yesterday, the translator in my ear died. Talking to her got really tough; sometimes it felt like forever just to figure out one sentence.

I had never been so focused in a conversation before. Weirdly enough, over the past few days, we started to get more in sync. Sometimes, we could understand each other with just a look.

Her shoulder wound was healing too, at least it wasn't messing with her daily life anymore.

That night, I lay on the beach, staring at the starry sky, wishing this was just a vacation, instead of waiting around aimlessly.

But then I thought, 'We were supposed to die, but I managed to turn things around. That's lucky, right?'

"John!" As I was thinking about my family, Cassandra sat down next to me.

She spoke in the language of the Crystal Nation. It felt weird; I wanted to laugh but couldn't because she missed home too.

"When we get out of here, I have to learn your language. I want to speak it and talk to you freely!" Without her gang leader vibe, Cassandra was just a regular girl.

Around twenty years old, in Simbara, she should still be in college. But here she was, dealing with all kinds of dangers to run the gang and manage her crew.

I glanced at her. She smiled and lay down next to me, resting her head on my arm. "John, I love you!"

I got that part; it meant "I love you."

"I have a girlfriend," I said with a smile.

"No, I don't care." She looked at me with those bright eyes. "I swore, I'm yours for life."

"You're the gang leader and have the Crimson Lotus Society to take over. I'm just a regular guy; I can't handle that life."

"I can give it up," Cassandra said, "If you don't like it."

I thought, 'Are you for real?'"What about Joshua?"

"He can live for another twenty years. Let's hurry and have a kid, and let our kid take over."

I was stunned and thought, 'What is up with this world? Why does everyone want to have a kid with me?'

"Cassandra, that's a pretty dangerous way to think."

Cassandra licked her lips. "John, remember what I told you on the boat?"

"What?"

"If you save me, I have a precious gift for you." She stood up and walked to the bonfire. I sat up too, watching her fix her clothes and hair.

She started singing a distant yet beautiful song.

Under the moonlight, a Crystal Nation girl danced by the bonfire, and I was the only audience.

My heart pounded. I kinda got what she was trying to do.

Her movements were light, her eyes gentle, and her clothes slowly came off. She walked towards me step by step, her eyes dreamy, saying, "John, I am that precious gift. Please enjoy."

"Cassandra, I..." Before I could finish, Cassandra's warm lips pressed against mine. Despite the simple conditions on the island, Cassandra took great care of her hygiene, cleaning her mouth daily with some special fragrant herb.

I realized it was mint. I was lost in it, holding her tightly.

We lay on the beach, by the bonfire, and started making love passionately.

The scars on her body had a wild beauty, yet she was so gentle at that moment. That contrast drove me nuts.

I was never the impatient type, but right then, I was super anxious, desperate to let out all the fear from the past few days.

I had no idea how long it took, but I finally let go of all my inner fears.

When I came to my senses, I realized she was still a virgin. "Cassandra..."

She smiled contentedly. "I'm the heir of the Crimson Lotus Society. My first time is only for my husband."

Some said the Crystal Nation was the most open yet the most conservative country. I didn't believe it before, but now I did.

I was over the moon. "John, do you want more?"

Cassandra sat up. "I can still go on."

I shook my head. Her wound hadn't fully healed, and I didn't want to push it.

I thought I was lucky to be stranded on an island with a beauty like Cassandra.

In the days that followed, whenever we had free time, we would start making love. It was clear she enjoyed it too and always surprised me. If only this were a vacation!

On the eighth day of being stranded, we completely let ourselves go, running freely on the beach. We did whatever we liked in the sea and in the woods.

After making love, Cassandra lay softly in my arms. Suddenly, she got excited. "John, a ship, there's a ship!"

I followed her pointing finger and saw a ship indeed. I was ecstatic. "Quick, let's get dressed and light the signal smoke!"

In just a few minutes, the signal smoke was lit. We shouted on the beach, hoping they would see us.

However, to our disappointment, the ship didn't notice us and sailed in the opposite direction.

I sat on the beach, feeling powerless. Watching hope slip away was too painful.

Just then, Cassandra exclaimed, "They're coming towards us!"

I stood up. Sure enough, the ship that had been going away was now heading towards us. I was finally saved.

Ten minutes later, the ship stopped in front of the coral area, and two men rowed over.

I tried to communicate in my native language, but they didn't understand. Then Cassandra spoke to them in the Crystal Nation language. Luckily, they spoke it too.

Once on the ship, I learned that this was the Crystal Nation's waters, but the location was so remote that few people came here.

We rested on the fishing boat for two days. There was a woman on the boat, the fisherman's daughter, who was plain-looking but very cheerful. She liked to chat with me a lot.

After three days on the fishing boat, we finally returned to the Crystal Nation. However, it was a remote area, and it would take at least three hours to get back to Moxford.

With no other choice, we sought help from the police, and finally, with their assistance, we returned to Moxford.

At that time, the Moxford gang was in chaos. Joshua had gone completely mad searching for Cassandra. The Blackhawk Syndicate and Skywolf Society had both suffered his crazy retaliation.

When we returned to the restaurant, the Crimson Lotus Society members went wild.

"Cassandra is back!"

"Ethan, quick, notify the boss. Cassandra and John are back!"

Everyone gathered around, looking at us closely. Some subordinates cried, "Cassandra, you're finally back. I missed you so much!"

"Elijah, stop crying." Cassandra gave him a light punch. After being hit, Elijah stopped crying and instead said with a smile, "Cassandra, hit me a few more times. It's been so many days without a beating; make up for it!"

Cassandra felt helpless. She opened her fist and gently patted his head. "I won't hit you today. I'll make up for it next time."

"Wonderful, Cassandra!"
