Chapter 356 Don't You Think You're Being Contradictory
Sophia was particularly interested in Katniss.
As soon as they left the ward, she asked, "Katniss, where are you headed?"
Katniss had saved her life, and Sophia had always felt a special fondness for her.
She hadn't found the right opportunity to ask Katniss out before, and she couldn't believe her luck running into her today.
Meeting Sophia's eager and expectant gaze, Katniss replied calmly, "I'm heading home."
Hearing that Katniss was going home, Sophia immediately got nervous and tentatively asked, "How about we take a stroll around Starhaven? I'll show you around! You saved me in Luminous City, and I never got the chance to thank you."
Sophia's idea of shopping wasn't just a casual stroll; it was the kind where she would generously foot the bill.
She wasn't short on money and always wanted to thank Katniss.
She couldn't think of a better way at the moment.
Katniss was about to decline when she saw someone walking down the hallway.
When the person saw her, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.
Katniss was about to avoid him, but Dylan didn't give her the chance and walked straight toward her.
"Katniss, are you here to see Nathan? I was just about to contact you," Dylan said as he quickly approached.
Seeing that there was no way to avoid him, Katniss stopped in her tracks.
Sophia, standing beside her, looked at Dylan in confusion and whispered to Katniss, "Who is he?"
She felt that Dylan was a bit disrespectful, so she didn't have a good impression of him.
Dylan ignored Sophia and spoke to Katniss, "You asked me to find a psychologist for Nathan, but he hasn't been cooperating. After all this fuss, his condition seems to have worsened."
His words carried a hint of blame toward Katniss for her suggestion.
Katniss frowned and asked, "Not cooperating? How so?"
She had never had high expectations of Dylan, so she was used to his attitude.
Sophia, on the other hand, frowned deeply as she listened.
If she hadn't noticed that Katniss and Dylan knew each other and that Katniss seemed relatively calm, she would have spoken up already.
"Come with me and see for yourself. And while you're at it, treat Nathan," Dylan said bluntly to Katniss.
This remark immediately ignited Sophia's anger.
She stepped in front of Katniss and asked, "What's with your attitude? How can you ask for help like that?"
Sophia had been saved by Katniss and held her medical skills in high regard.
Now, seeing someone ask for Katniss's help with such an attitude made her very uncomfortable.
Dylan glanced at Sophia and said dismissively, "What's it to you?"
"Of course, it matters to me!"
She couldn't stand seeing Katniss being mistreated.
Seeing that the two were about to argue, Katniss said, "You should change your attitude when speaking to me."
Her words were directed at Dylan.
Dylan's expression darkened immediately.
"Let's go, Sophia. Your idea of strolling around Starhaven sounds good to me," Katniss said leisurely to Sophia.
"Great! Let's go!" Sophia's face lit up with joy, and she could hardly contain her excitement.
"You think you can just leave?" Dylan stepped forward to block their way. "Nathan's condition has worsened because of you! Are you just going to leave him to die?"
Katniss looked at him coldly. "Because of me? You're his brother, and you listened to the person who harmed him. Now you want the person who harmed him to treat him? Don't you think you're being contradictory?"
Dylan was so angry at Katniss's words that he nearly fainted.
He had to pinch himself to calm down.
Sophia said, "Get out of our way! And if you're asking for help, you should act like it!"
Although Dylan had only said a few words, Sophia could already see that he desperately needed Katniss's help to treat Nathan, yet he was still arrogant.
As the two were about to leave, Dylan suddenly said, "Katniss, please go see Nathan."
Katniss looked at him in surprise.
Before she could respond, Sophia said, "What did you say? Speak up, Katniss can't hear you!"
Dylan's face turned red with anger, and he looked furious but didn't dare say anything.
Sophia glared at him, not backing down.
Katniss knew not to push people too far. She gently patted Sophia and said, "It's okay, Sophia. You can go home. I'll go take a look."
Sophia quickly softened her expression and asked, "Can I come with you?"
Katniss thought for a moment before saying, "Sure, you can come with me."
Dylan wanted to say something, but Katniss's look silenced him.
He didn't like Sophia, but Sophia was very pleased with the outcome and followed Katniss with a triumphant look at Dylan.
Soon, they arrived at Nathan's ward.
Katniss was about to enter, and Sophia was following her.
Dylan stopped them and said, "She doesn't need to go in now, does she?"
Before Katniss could respond, Sophia spoke up.
"Are you the doctor or Katniss? If Katniss hasn't said anything, why are you?"
Katniss smiled slightly. She liked Sophia's personality.
Sophia and Ethan were complete opposites: one was mischievous and lively, while the other was silent and old-fashioned.
Dylan didn't want to argue with Sophia. He looked at Katniss and said, "If she goes in and something happens to Nathan..."
"That's not your concern," Katniss interrupted him. Then she turned to Sophia and said, "Come on in."
Sophia was very curious about Katniss's medical skills and her.
As long as it didn't interfere with anything, Katniss didn't mind satisfying Sophia's curiosity.
Besides, if Sophia could make Dylan uncomfortable, Katniss was all for it.
Sophia gave Dylan another mocking look and followed Katniss into the room.
As the door closed behind them, Dylan's expression turned dark with anger, and he could only stomp his foot in frustration.
But he didn't have the time to wait outside the room. Soon, a colleague came to ask for his help.
Since transferring to Starhaven, he had been busier than ever, much more so than in Luminous City. Even so, he had to work diligently.
After all, he was the newest member of the Serenity Health Institute.
Moreover, Dylan had his family members admitted to the hospital, making him the least influential person there.
Inside the ward, Katniss didn't know that Dylan had gone back to work.
She immediately began checking Nathan's condition.
Nathan wasn't asleep this time; he was reading a book.
When he saw Katniss, he put down his book.
Seeing someone else with her, he asked curiously, "Who is this?"
