Chapter 500 Two Bastards
"It's hard to say it wasn't intentional," Dennis said with a smirk. "He probably wanted to use someone from the Manners family to throw the Lewis family off."
The key point was, Johnson didn't just think about it; he took action and succeeded.
Dennis glanced at Dylan as he spoke, noticing his still haggard appearance, knowing the detention had taken a toll on him.
"Where's Johnson now? I'm going to settle this with him!" Elodie couldn't contain her anger upon hearing that Johnson's actions were deliberate.
She stood up abruptly, ready to storm out.
Not to mention what Johnson did to the Manners family, just thinking about Johnson being Oliver's so-called friend made her feel sick.

"Mom," Nathan spoke up, gently tugging at Elodie's sleeve and shaking his head. "Don't be impulsive."
Elodie paused, her chest heaving with anger, clearly still upset.
"Yeah... Mrs. Manners, please calm down and listen to Lucas," Dennis said, trying to soothe Elodie before turning to Lucas, waiting for him to speak.
Elodie looked at Lucas, who was sitting on the couch.
Everyone else also turned to Lucas, seeing him as their anchor.
Under everyone's gaze, Lucas remained calm.
"We can't touch the Lewis family, but the Thompson family is almost done for because of them. So, we can still get back at Johnson."
Lucas's tone was calm, but his words carried a hint of sharpness.
"Lucas means revenge?" Dylan asked excitedly.
Nathan couldn't help but look at Lucas with bright eyes, waiting for him to reveal his plan.
Johnson dared to scheme against the Manners family; he should be prepared to pay a heavy price!
"Of course, we'll get back at him, but I'll handle it myself," Lucas said, standing up and heading towards Clara's room. "You all pack up and get ready to return to Luminous City. I'll go wake Clara."
Lucas's meaning was clear: Johnson's matter didn't need anyone else's involvement.
With Lucas's firm stance, Elodie and the others naturally didn't insist.
Elodie, already packing, was the first to return to her room to continue. Dylan glanced at Lucas and Dennis before heading to his room to pack.
Nathan didn't rush to his room. Seeing Lucas heading to Clara's door, he hesitated before saying, "Lucas, Clara went out early this morning."
"What? Where did Clara go?" Lucas stopped and asked Nathan.
Dennis also looked at Nathan, raising an eyebrow meaningfully.
Nathan replied, "I don't know where Clara went. She said she had something urgent but would be back soon."
After checking the time, he added, "Clara just left. Should I call her to ask when she'll be back?"
He knew they were returning to Luminous City, but didn't expect it to be so urgent.
"No need, I'll call her. You go pack," Lucas said, then added, "We'll find a doctor in Luminous City to check your condition."
Nathan smiled bitterly.
He had seen countless doctors. If any treatment worked, Dylan wouldn't have kept seeking Katniss.
So far, the only effective treatment for his condition was Katniss's miraculous methods.
But even Katniss couldn't cure him completely; she only kept him alive in a weakened state.
"Thanks," Nathan said, smiling at Lucas despite knowing the slim chances. "Remember to contact Clara."
Lucas nodded, "Don't worry, Nathan."
After watching Nathan go into his room, Lucas didn't immediately contact Clara but checked his phone.
He had received a text during their conversation and now had time to read it.
After reading, Lucas put his phone away, frowning as he headed to his room.
Dennis didn't see the text but followed Lucas into the room.
Seeing Lucas start packing, Dennis couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you worried about Clara?"
Lucas replied, "Clara is with Emma."
"What?" Dennis was stunned, then frowned tightly. "She wasn't kidnapped, was she?"
"Don't worry about her. Emma won't harm her. But I need you to find out where Johnson is."
Lucas remembered Clara's text saying she had a way to escape, so he tried to shift his focus, turning to Dennis.
Dennis sighed but agreed.
Seeing Lucas didn't want to talk, Dennis went to the balcony to make a call, instructing his men to find Johnson.
Finding Johnson wouldn't take long.
Meanwhile, in a van on the road.
Clara put away her phone after sending a text and looked at the person beside her. "Why are you guys here again?"
If she remembered correctly, Emma had two bodyguards around her who could take her to see Emma.
Violette rolled her eyes. "It's not like anyone wants to see you."
Dione looked Clara up and down before giving her a reason. "Ms. Kate is impatient. She wants you to bring Desmond to Starhaven today."
Mentioning Desmond, Dione's expression soured.
She had interacted with Desmond before.
If she hadn't discovered Desmond's issues in time, she might have married him.
Though she had planned a fake marriage, thinking about Desmond's disgusting actions made her nauseous.
"Today?" Clara was stunned.
After the initial shock, Clara clutched her stomach in pain. "My stomach hurts. Can I use the restroom?"
Clara hadn't had time to discuss the details with Desmond, and now Emma wanted to see her, making her nervous.
"You're faking it, right?" Violette glared at her. "What a coincidence."
"Trying to escape?" Dione was equally suspicious of Clara's sudden stomachache.
Clara was desperate. She wasn't really in pain but needed a chance to text Desmond.
Otherwise, if Emma made her call Desmond directly, he'd blow their cover.
Clara, nervous and speechless, pinched herself to sweat from the pain.
"Really... really," Clara said to Dione, sweating. "You can have someone guard me. I wouldn't dare run away before seeing Ms. Kate."
