Chapter 387 She Still Has to Go to Jail

On the other side of town, Clara rushed to the hospital, her heart pounding with worry.

As soon as she entered the room, she saw Elodie, looking frail and leaning against the bed.

Nathan was in his wheelchair nearby, and Dylan stood on the other side, equally concerned.

"Mom!" Clara cried out, rushing to Elodie's bedside, her eyes instantly filling with tears.

"Clara, my sweet girl," Elodie said, her voice trembling as she reached out to hug Clara tightly. "You've been through so much."

Dylan stood by, watching the two embrace, feeling a lump in his throat.

He had been talking to Elodie as usual, but when he mentioned Clara's recent health issues, Elodie had suddenly woken up.

The first thing Elodie wanted to do upon waking was to see Clara.

Dylan hadn't even had the chance to explain Clara's health problems to her, fearing it might be too much for Elodie's fragile state.

Before calling Clara, Dylan had vaguely mentioned to Elodie that Clara was unaware of her condition.

Elodie had pressed for details, but Dylan had avoided explaining the specifics of Clara's health issues.

"Clara, my poor girl," Elodie murmured, holding Clara close, not caring about her weakness.

Nathan gently reminded her, "Mom, you need to rest and take care of yourself."

Dylan quickly agreed, suggesting they inform the family in Luminous City about Elodie's recovery.

"Mom, Dad will be so happy to hear you're awake," Clara said, wiping her tears.

But as soon as she finished speaking, Elodie slammed her hand on the bed.

"Oliver! Is he still with that woman, Laura?"

Elodie's outburst left her gasping for breath, and even though Dylan patted her back to calm her, her face was flushed with anger.

Her words reminded everyone of the reason Elodie had become comatose.

Dylan quickly reassured her, "Mom, don't worry. Laura has lost her mind. She deserved everything that happened to her for what she did to you!"

Elodie's eyes widened as she glared at Dylan. "Who told you it was her? It was Oliver who pushed me!"

Elodie had disowned Oliver as her husband the moment he pushed her. She had already been disappointed in him for his blatant affairs with Laura.

Especially after becoming comatose, she had been aware but unable to wake up, suffering in silence for so long.

It was all Oliver's fault.

Everyone in the room was stunned by Elodie's revelation.

They had always believed Oliver's story that Laura was responsible for Elodie's condition, but now Elodie was saying it was Oliver.

What was going on?

"Dylan, bring Oliver here! I want a divorce," Elodie demanded, her voice filled with determination. "And I want him to go to jail!"

Dylan's expression flickered, but he didn't respond.

Even Clara was at a loss for words. The idea of a divorce at their age was scandalous.

Nathan, frowning, glanced at Dylan, guessing his thoughts.

Dylan wouldn't support the divorce.

Sure enough, Dylan tried to calm Elodie, suggesting they wait until she was well enough to return to Luminous City before making any decisions.

Elodie, though still angry, reluctantly agreed.

Dylan then led Nathan and Clara out of the room and into Nathan's room.

All three looked troubled, but Clara was the first to speak.

"Dylan, is there something wrong with me?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Dylan remembered Clara's need for a kidney transplant and made up his mind.

"Clara, there is an issue with your health," he began, seeing Clara's face turn pale. He quickly added, "But don't worry, we're working on a solution!"

Despite his reassurances, Clara felt a wave of panic.

She had sensed something was wrong from the way Dylan and Desmond had been acting since yesterday.

It wasn't a minor issue.

"Dylan, what's wrong with me?" she asked, feeling short of breath and dizzy.

The anxiety made her cough uncontrollably.

Her coughing fit alarmed Dylan and Nathan.

They quickly helped her, with Dylan guiding her to sit by the bed and Nathan, in his wheelchair, fetching her some water.

She finally stopped coughing, looking pitiful with tears in her eyes.

After taking a sip of water from Nathan's cup, Dylan asked, "Feeling better, Clara?"

Clara weakly nodded, then looked up at Dylan. "Dylan, what's wrong with me?"

She had asked before, but her coughing had interrupted the answer.

Now, Dylan felt even more reluctant to tell her.

Nathan, seeing Dylan's hesitation, tried to comfort Clara. "Clara, don't worry. It's just a small surgery."

Dylan hadn't kept Clara's condition a secret from the family, hoping they could help find a kidney donor.

Nathan, despite his health issues, wanted to do what he could to comfort Clara.

Clara took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, but her face remained pale.

A surgery couldn't be minor, could it?

She struggled to find the right words to ask again.

But before she could, Dylan seemed to make a decision and spoke up. "Clara, you need a kidney transplant."

Clara's eyes widened in shock, staring at Dylan.

Even Nathan looked at Dylan, waiting for him to continue.

He guessed Dylan had a reason for revealing this now.

Dylan continued, "Clara, don't worry. We're already looking for a donor."

Clara felt like the ground had fallen out from under her, leaving her dizzy. "I..."

Before she could finish, she fainted.

Her sudden collapse frightened Dylan and Nathan.

Dylan quickly checked her, relieved to find she had only fainted.

After giving her an injection, Dylan led Nathan out of the room.

He could tell Nathan had something to say.

Sure enough, once outside, Nathan questioned Dylan's decision to tell Clara about the transplant.

Dylan sighed, explaining, "Mom needs Clara to stay strong."
