Chapter 113 Just Some of My Wife's Little Quirks
When Regina woke up, she found herself already changed into pajamas and lying in bed.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Regina sat there, hugging the blanket, lost in thought for a while.
Douglas, coming out with just a towel wrapped around him, probably didn't expect her to wake up so suddenly.
He stopped by the bedside, looking down at her. "Stop worrying. Didn't I say I wasn't mad?"
And even if he was mad, the message she had accidentally sent to the work chat group today made him completely appeased.
Regina bit her red lip hard.
Suddenly, Douglas bent down and kissed her, prying open her lips and teeth.
This kiss, mixed with desire and affection, made her heart flutter.
That night, he tirelessly engaged in foreplay.
Later, during sex, he was quite rough. Of course, that kind of roughness wouldn't bring Regina the same fear as that night at the Seasons Hotel.
She was immersed in that sex.
Their bodies and souls were deeply intertwined.
The next day, Regina's alarm for work went off again and again. However, she was too sore and weak to get up.
Seeing this, Douglas reached out and directly turned off her phone alarm.
"No way." Regina probably knew he wanted her to sleep in, but she frowned tightly and resisted. "I just sent that message to the group yesterday. If I don't go to work today, it will..."
Douglas squinted, staring at her meaningfully. "What will happen?"
A flash of embarrassment crossed Regina's eyes, and she lowered her voice. "They might think I had sex all night so that I'mtoo tired to go to work."
Douglas chuckled. "You think too much."
After a few seconds of silence, Regina spoke again, "Well, everyone is probably already suspicious."
They were incredibly shocked they were when Regina mentioned he liked watching the aurora, and Douglas appeared in the group with that profile of aurora.
"Just let them be suspicious. We'll have to tell them sooner or later, right?" Douglas had no interest in caring about what those people thought when getting married. It was Regina who was afraid of being too abrupt and causing a stir, so she didn't dare to admit it openly. "Just consider it a prelude."
'Well, that made sense.'
Regina collected her thoughts, got up, washed up, changed clothes, and went to the office.
Since Douglas had a social event tonight, Regina drove herself today.
She had bought this car with her own money a while ago.
Mainly because Douglas didn't have any low-key cars in his garage, and this car wasn't expensive, she could afford it herself, so she didn't tell him and just bought it directly.
As soon as Regina entered the office today, she was greeted by Lucia's sarcastic tone.
"Wow, you look good." Lucia walked to a spot just a few steps away from Regina, scrutinizing her. "You must have had a lot of fun last night, huh?"
Regina slowly raised her head, calmly looking at Lucia's sharp and mean face, with an expression of 'go on, keep talking.'
Lucia frowned at her lack of reaction. She deliberately raised her voice. "I didn't expect you to be so wild, you act so quiet but are actually quite wild. How can you have two faces, one in front of people and one behind? But I get it, you have to show some charm to please a man."
Everyone in the office silently turned their attention to them.
They were staring at her, seemingly wanting to see Regina's embarrassment.
However, Regina remained unfazed. "What does it have to do with you?"
Seeing Regina's cold face, Lucia pretended to be aggrieved and quickly said, "I was just joking. You wouldn't take it seriously, would you?"
"A joke? Did you see me laugh?"
Lucia was embarrassed by Regina's retort.
She was competitive and had to win in verbal sparring.
Regina usually didn't like to argue with people, but she wouldn't let Lucia push her around, either.
Lucia had always disliked Regina. After all, in Lucia's mind, Regina was just a newcomer who had only been with the company for a few months, but later, Regina stole so much of the spotlight.
First, she accompanied Douglas to meet clients, then attended banquets with him, and later was even named by Douglas to accompany him on several days and nights of business trips abroad. Finally, Douglas comforted her in a work chat group of hundreds of people.
Now, hitting a wall with Regina, Lucia's anger flared up. "You really have some tricks. Using that kind of method to get the boss's attention!"
"Are you jealous? After all, some people are not good at their job, and they can't even get ahead with unspoken rules."
Lucia was stunned.
She didn't expect Regina to admit it so openly this time! "You really have something going on with the boss!"
"If you're curious, you can ask our boss. After all, he's the leader, and what he says goes. What I say alone is just nonsense to you, isn't it?"
Lucia wouldn't dare to mess with Douglas.
Besides, Douglas was a married man. She would be crazy to go up to him and ask if he had an inappropriate relationship with a female subordinate.
She was rendered speechless by Regina, and her face turned red. Just as she was about to say something, Janet walked over, giving her a warning look. "That's enough, Lucia."
After all, Janet was an old employee who had been in the workplace for many years. She could see some things clearly.
For example, Regina's position in Douglas's heart.
Everyone noticed that Douglas seemed a bit off today.
An important high-level meeting had been going on for an hour, and perhaps feeling a bit stuffy, he raised his hand to loosen the tie around his neck and unbuttoned a couple of shirt buttons.
Because Douglas's style was very imposing, just sitting there made everyone instinctively focus on the meeting and on him.
Everyone saw him unbutton a few shirt buttons, revealing his long neck and the ambiguous love bites on it!
Instantly, everyone's expressions varied.
His secretary wanted to remind him but was hesitant, unsure if she should say something that crossed the boundary into his private life.
Noticing the situation, Jason walked over to Douglas without a word and whispered something in his ear.
Upon hearing it, Douglas didn't seem to mind. He casually buttoned up his shirt again and said unhurriedly, "Sorry for the embarrassment. It's just a little quirk of my wife's."
In the evening, Regina clocked out and prepared to go home.
Unexpectedly, she received a call from the phone repair shop owner. "Is this Ms. Valrose? Your phone is fixed. Do you have time to come pick it up?"
