Chapter 28 Seductive Scenario

Upon hearing this, Douglas paused and asked, "What club?"
"The Dubbing Club," Regina explained, "I joined it in my first year and even served as the president. Miranda and I went to the same school, and she was a year junior. She was also a member of the club."
"Alright."
Alright? Regina thought Douglas might not be interested, so she didn't elaborate further. Unexpectedly, after a while, Douglas added, "If you want to go, then go ahead." So, Douglas granted them leave, right? "That's not right." Regina maintained a semblance of modesty. It was a workday, and she had a lot on her plate. A trip to Norman for the event would likely require a two-day off. However, Regina sensed Miranda's eagerness to visit. It had been four years since Regina last visited her alma mater. Besides, Regina herself was hesitant to miss the Dubbing Club's event, which she cherished.
Suddenly, Regina remembered a message from Miranda. She teasingly said: [Let's wait. I heard they're inviting a very important guest. If he goes, I'll go too.]
Douglas simply nodded, seemingly indifferent.
Regina thought, 'He hasn't done these things, so it's normal for him not to be interested.'
"Anyway, you have a literally lovely voice. If you became a voice actor, you'd surely be popular." With that, Regina changed the subject, and Douglas inexplicably smiled.
Upon returning home, Douglas noticed significant changes a lot. There was an additional presence in the house, leaving traces of her life everywhere. Douglas sat on the sofa, his mind filled with countless thoughts. Molly, holding a yarn ball she had chewed, approached Douglas, wagging her tail. Douglas casually reached out and patted her head.
"You haven't had dinner, right?" Regina took her phone and tentatively asked, "Would you like to order takeout?"
Douglas didn't have live-in staff; two hourly workers came during the day to clean and cook. Regina wasn't good at cooking; she could only make simple meals. She was afraid Douglas wouldn't like her cooking, so she planned to order takeout for dinner.
"No worries, I'm not hungry."
Regina put her phone away and asked, "Are you tired? Do you want to freshen up and rest?"
Douglas patiently replied, "I'm not tired."
"Well..."
"Can you come and sit with me for a while, Mrs. Semona?"
Regina hesitated for two seconds before walking over and sitting beside him. She was no longer as reserved as before. After sitting down, she casually played with Molly and chatted with Miranda. Douglas just watched her, not saying anything. Sensing his quietness, Regina suddenly realized she had been a bit too much.
"I'm sorry. I got distracted by Molly as soon as I sat down."
"So, I'm less attractive than that dog, am I?" Douglas calmly asked, but Regina thought he was teasing her, so she shook her head and explained, "Not really."
"What is it then?"
Regina hesitated for a moment and said honestly, "It's because you sitting here is incredibly attractive. If I didn't divert my attention, something might have happened, and I'm sorry."
Regina's gaze fell on him. In the cool-toned lighting, Douglas wore a gray shirt, with his sleeves casually rolled up and the top three buttons undone, revealing a sexy Adam's apple. Wrapped in the shirt, his strong and sleek muscle lines looked alluring.
Regina had dreamt about that several times. And in her dreams, it was always Douglas who did it with her. They seemed to have not reached that stage yet, but she couldn't control herself anymore. Such a desire was almost like criminal to her.
After a moment of silence, Douglas chuckled and asked, "So, what did you mean by something you're sorry for?"
Regina couldn't shamelessly say that she wanted to do that with him as soon as she saw him, right? She tried to hide her inner thoughts, but her ears had turned red. Douglas was in a good mood and intended to delve into the topic, but Regina's phone rang again. She got up, took her phone, and ran into the bedroom.
It was a call from Miranda.
"Regina, I'm really curious about something, so I wanted to ask you!"
"What is it?"
"Let me show you something!"
Miranda sent two screenshots. Regina took a look and was dazed for a while. Miranda had actually sent screenshots of Douglas's two recent Instagram posts, one of which was a photo of Regina playing with the dog, and the other was a photo of Regina making spaghetti for Douglas. The captions of the two images were: [Welcome to the new family member] and [Thanks to my wife for making breakfast.] Regina was instantly dumbfounded.
This was Douglas's private Instagram, so Miranda shouldn't be following his account, right?
"Why do you have these two photos?"
Miranda was also puzzled. "I don't know. I should have followed his Instagram account a long time ago. It might have been when I was in college, but I'm pretty sure I've never talked to him or met him. I don't know why I followed his account." Miranda had already followed over a thousand accounts, and Douglas's account was not very active. His account name was S, and he would only post a maximum of two Instagram posts a year. And even if Douglas posted on IG, he rarely shared anything about his personal life, let alone his photos. Miranda had a habit of not unfollowing, so she just silently followed his account.
Unexpectedly, his IG had actually posted two posts in a row some time ago.
"When I first saw the photo of the woman playing with the dog, I thought the figure looked like you, but then he posted a photo thanking his wife for making breakfast, so I immediately dismissed the idea. I don't think you're married yet." And Miranda could tell from the view outside the entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows what it was in Oriant. It was a river-view apartment worth one hundred thousand dollars per 10 square feet.
After a moment of confusion, Miranda ignored the Instagram.
But after a while, she suddenly felt puzzled again. When did she start following such a wealthy figure?
So, Miranda found Douglas's Instagram. When she looked again, she found that Regina had actually liked two of Douglas's Instagram posts.
"So, you know this person, right?"
Regina suddenly froze. Her mind suddenly became very confused. She wanted to say something but didn't know where to start.
