Chapter 149 Enjoyment

"Mrs. Semona, I received the gift you sent."

Regina looked at the exquisite gift box placed beside him. She hesitated a bit. But since she had already decided, there was no need to be so shy, right?

"So, Mr. Semona, are you going to try the gift tonight?"

"If you are willing to, I would be delighted."

At that moment when their eyes met, the air seemed to flow with ambiguity and sweetness.

Regina picked up the box placed by the bed and returned to the bathroom.

She closed the bathroom door and carefully studied the piece of clothing for a long time.

When Regina tied the thin black strap around her chest, she really felt like a gift waiting for Douglas to unwrap.

Regina raised her eyes and looked at herself in the bathroom mirror.

She subtly slowed her breathing.

After calming down for about two minutes, she finally walked out of the bathroom.

The room was brightly lit.

Douglas watched the figure walking towards him, his Adam's apple rolling.

His rationality seemed to be burned to ashes in an instant by a blazing fire.

He thought that he might really die in her hands tonight.

Douglas' well-defined fingers gently played with the black strap on Regina's high chest, as if he was about to untie it but didn't, like a feather, making Regina's heart itch unbearably.

"Mrs. Semona, thank you for the gift." He slightly curled his lips. "I will enjoy it thoroughly tonight."

As soon as he finished speaking, Douglas untied the thin black ribbon tied around Regina's chest.

Regina was awakened by a phone call the next day.

After all, it was the weekend, and if it weren't for that call, she could have slept until the sky turned dark.

She weakly reached out from under the covers, found the phone on the bedside table, vaguely answered the call, and put it to her ear, her voice carrying an indescribable laziness. "Hello."

"It's me, Regina, are you...feeling better?"

Regina heard Melissa's weak and powerless voice.

Her sleepiness gradually disappeared.

Melissa, seeing Regina's silence, continued to speak a lot on her own, "I'm sorry, Regina. I really didn't know Sandra would use my phone to do such a thing. I have already scolded her harshly."

Perhaps at the moment of death, many things became clear and open.

Thinking of Sandra's actions over the years, Melissa felt more and more heartbroken.

She didn't know how much money and effort she had spent on Sandra, but in the end, Sandra turned out to be like a defective product.

"My life has been a complete failure. I'm sorry, Regina. I didn't expect to cause you so much trouble even at the end of my life," Melissa spoke cautiously while suppressing her sobs.

She was actually very afraid that Regina would be annoyed by her current state. After all, she found herself in a mess.

"I don't dare to ask you to see me again." Melissa wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. "Regina, I wish you happiness."

Regina held the phone without speaking. After two seconds of silence, Douglas reached out and hung up her phone, tossing it aside, and hugged her from behind.

"Are you feeling soft-hearted?"

Douglas didn't know what Regina was thinking at the moment, so he just said coldly, "She is a dying person. Considering she is your mother, I didn't do anything to her."

Letting her fend for herself was already his greatest mercy.

"But if she dares to disturb you again..."

"I know," Before Douglas could finish his sentence, Regina interrupted him.

Early in the morning, she didn't want him to feel unhappy because of this kind of thing.

She turned around, hugged his broad and warm body, and buried her head in Douglas' chest.

The lingering warmth from last night quickly permeated Regina's body.

In that lingering good morning kiss, Regina almost got lost in desire again.

When Regina got up to have breakfast downstairs, she found a plate of bright red cherries on the table.

The housekeeper smiled and said to her, "Mrs. Semona, the cherries this season are very sweet and delicious. You should try them. I went to the fruit market early in the morning to buy them."

Regina awkwardly tugged at the corner of her mouth. Because she inexplicably remembered a certain scene from last night.

Didn't Douglas eat her breasts like he was eating cherries?

Realizing this, Regina felt inexplicably uncomfortable. She suppressed the images in her mind, walked to the dining table, picked up a cherry, and gently bit into it. Just then, Douglas followed her into the dining room, pulled out a chair, and sat down opposite her.

The housekeeper immediately recommended to Douglas, "Mr. Semona, you should try these cherries. They are very sweet!"

Hearing this, Douglas gazed at the plate of cherries, but he didn't move.

The housekeeper thought she had forgotten that Douglas didn't like sweet things.

Just as she was feeling a bit uneasy, she saw Douglas pick up a cherry and put it in his mouth.

Douglas thought, 'The cherry is bright and juicy, and indeed sweet. But it was not as sweet as Regina by a long shot.'

"What are you looking at, Mrs. Semona?" Douglas raised his eyes and found Regina staring at him as he was eating the cherry.

Caught red-handed again, Regina lowered her head guiltily. "Nothing."

Her embarrassed look seemed like she wanted to find a hole to crawl into, so naturally, Douglas didn't expose her thoughts any further.

They had breakfast together.

This weekend, there didn't seem to be any special plans.

They decided on a whim to go back to the Semona Estate for dinner.

Since Leo retired, he had been living a particularly leisurely life. On weekends and holidays, the Semona Estate was bustling with people.

But since Douglas married Regina, their visits to the Semona Estate had been few and far between.

Maybe it was because Regina hadn't fully embraced the relationship before, so Douglas didn't often take her back to the Semona Estate. But now it was different.

Leo complained, "Why don't you bring Regina home more often?"

Douglas half-jokingly and half-seriously replied, "We are busy with work every day. Don't you allow us to have some couple time on weekends? Otherwise, how will you get your great-grandchildren?"

Leo felt something was off with this statement.

He still remembered the last time when Douglas was at the old house, he asked Douglas how far he and Regina had progressed.

Douglas had replied that they were still far from giving him great-grandchildren.

Now, Douglas' statement had clearly changed.

Leo smiled. "So, do you have any progress now?"

'Progress?'

Douglas squinted slightly, a thoughtful look crossing his face.

He always felt something was off.

These days, he had been paying attention to preparing for pregnancy, and their sexual life was of good quality. So why wasn't Regina pregnant yet?
