Chapter 127 It's All up to You
He asked Regina, "Is this job really urgent right now?"
Regina, her face flushed, nodded. "Yes, it is. She needs it in twenty minutes."
At that time, Douglas was also particularly indulgent with Regina. He had no choice; he pulled out before even finishing, watching her run to the study wrapped in a robe.
Thinking about it, Douglas couldn't help but smile.
What was it like to have a wife more enthusiastic about work than making love?
"Mrs. Semona, honestly, was I not good enough last night, making you feel not so..." Douglas looked at her reddened ears, choosing his words carefully, "Not so comfortable?"
'How could he think that way?' Regina, with a stiff expression, wanted to explain, but she couldn't describe the feeling.
Flashes of stimulating scenes from last night crossed her mind, and just thinking about it made her body heat up as if a warm stream was spreading through her body.
"It's not like that," she said softly.
"Then what is it like?" Douglas asked.
Regina didn't know if Douglas genuinely didn't know or was just pretending. Could he really not feel it?
Seeing Regina hesitate, Douglas didn't ask further. "Alright, get up and eat something."
Last night, she was clearly full, but her energy was quickly depleted.
"Alright," Regina softly responded and then, supporting her sore body, got up from bed to wash up and had lunch in the break room.
Carefully leaving the president's office, Regina returned to her own office.
It was right after lunch, and everyone was gathered, chatting idly.
"I heard Mrs. Semona came to the office?"
"Really?"
"Apparently, she's still in the president's office!"
"She must have been here since last night, accompanying Mr. Semona for overtime. Mr. Semona has been very busy lately."
"So, they're solid. Wasn't the rumor say say they were just putting on a show?"
"Didn't they look very affectionate at the last annual meeting? Don't you remember?"
"But seriously, did she really just sit in the office with the president working overtime all night?"
"You don't get it," Someone whispered mysteriously. "I heard someone saw the cleaning staff go to the president's office at 8:30 this morning and found several condoms. You get it, right? Mr. Semona needs to relax a bit with all that overtime stress."
After saying that, she immediately covered her mouth. She had to stop; the more she said, the harder it was to stop!
Meanwhile, Regina sat at her desk, feeling a bit groggy. She didn't hear the whispers around her. She opened a bottle of water on her desk and took a slow sip.
Janet didn't ask much about her half-day absence.
But Regina couldn't not say anything.
She quickly sent Janet a message.
Soon, she got a reply from Janet: [It's okay. Even if you don't say it, I kind of understand.]
Regina fell silent.
In the following period, Regina's life gradually returned to peace.
Even when she saw on the news that Philip had become the chairman of the Heyday Group, she didn't feel much.
Regina had known Philip for a long time. She knew that his playboy image was just a facade.
He had ambition.
But if that ambition weren't used properly, the consequences would be unimaginable.
On the first day of May, "Post-Nuptial Passion" was released on the largest radio drama platform in the country.
The collaboration between Regina and Dougal delighted many voice actor fans.
Although Regina and Dougal didn't have many works, their works were classics, and they attracted many fans.
Producer Helen called Regina, subtly probing to see if Regina and Dougal could help promote the radio drama.
"Well... I need to ask Dougal's opinion."
Helen chuckled. "Actually, I already asked him. Dougal said it's up to you."
Helen's attitude was indeed humble.
Not to mention that Regina and Dougal recorded the radio drama for free.
And Dougal's status was well-known.
The producer never expected that Dougal had such a background!
The first time Helen met Douglas, he didn't even take off his mask. After not waiting for Regina in the recording studio, he left quickly.
The second time she met Douglas was the day before the official recording of "Post-Nuptial Passion."
It was the first time she saw his face and learned about his background, which almost scared Helen to death.
Regina thought for a while and then asked, "How do you want us to promote it?"
"How about a benefit when the play reaches a billion views? You and Dougal could do a fan meet-and-greet, either online or offline."
Regina almost immediately replied, "Sorry, I need to think about it."
Low-key and traditional had always been the Semona family's style.
Douglas's personal life was very private.
Before he got married, there weren't even a few high-definition photos of him online.
Later, he was discussed twice because of the name "Dougal."
Now, the radio drama was quite popular. If they appeared together, it would definitely attract attention.
Thinking from Douglas's perspective, Regina felt he might not want to do such public appearances.
Moreover, Regina had seen the news, and many people thought they had an ambiguous relationship.
But at the Dubbing Club at Normon University, Douglas had admitted he was married.
If they weren't public about it and were too close, it could affect their reputations.
Regina carefully considered the matter.
Helen, hearing Regina's response, immediately expressed understanding. "Alright, let us know when you've made a decision."
"Okay, goodbye."
After hanging up, Regina also opened the "Post-Nuptial Passion" radio drama.
Two new episodes were released today.
Because of "Dougal," she was actually a loyal fan of this radio drama.
Regina, wearing headphones, sat on the couch, listening intently. She didn't notice Douglas standing beside her for a while until she realized he was back.
"When did you come back?" Regina quickly took off her headphones, her eyes filled with surprise.
The company was on holiday recently, but Douglas hadn't been idle.
Regina, on the other hand, had been idle all day.
"Do you want to go somewhere? I have time in the next two days."
"Really?" Regina was pleasantly surprised.
Douglas affectionately raised his hand and patted her head. "Sure."
She was so bored at home; he had to make time even if he didn't have any.
Regina started planning in her mind. But she had no idea.
She awkwardly smiled. "Actually, I've always been someone who likes staying at home. I don't go out much even when I have time off. Sometimes I spend two-thirds of the day in bed."
Sleeping, reading, listening to radio dramas, occasionally watching a movie or two.
For her, it was quite enjoyable.
But Douglas smiled thoughtfully. "Mrs. Semona, if you like staying in bed, I can stay in bed with you for the next two days."
