Chapter 189 Comment
Regina didn't mean to go without bra. When she stayed at the villa on Springfield Road, she wouldn't dare to be so bold because there were so many people around. She always dressed neatly and elegantly.
But the bra felt too restrictive, especially when she was trying to sleep at night. She definitely didn't want to be burdened by it.
Now that it was just her and Douglas, Regina didn't think too much about it.
She pressed her lips, walked over to him, and sat down on his lap.
Douglas' body instantly tensed up, as hard as steel.
He chuckled helplessly and didn't say much. He just reached for a bottle of essential oil nearby, unscrewed it, poured a little into his palm, and rubbed it. Then he lifted her skirt and gently and evenly applied it to her slightly rounded belly.
He had heard that this could prevent stretch marks.
Regina felt that when it came to pregnancy, he was more meticulous than she was.
She couldn't sleep, so she chatted with him intermittently, "Who were you on the phone with just now?"
"The PR Manager."
Regina had only recently learned on her way home that the photo of them kissing in the club's hallway had made it online, causing quite a stir.
Although Douglas quickly handled the issue, some "aftereffects" were inevitable.
Regina asked, "Did you solve the problem?"
"Small matter, it's taken care of."
Regina lowered her eyes, looking a bit serious, "These problems shouldn't have arisen in the first place. If we had gone public earlier..."
Before Regina could finish her sentence, Douglas gently interrupted her. "Everything's falling into place just as it should. I'm pleased with every step we've taken. Don't worry about causing any trouble—none of that matters to me. The only thing that does is if you're unhappy."
Who wouldn't be touched by such tender words?
Regina wrapped her arms around Douglas' neck and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his chiseled cheek as if awarding him a reward.
But as soon as her lips made contact, he deepened the kiss, pulling her closer and entwining their tongues.
She settled onto his lap, her breaths coming in ragged gasps.
Douglas wasn't faring much better.
Regina had never seen him so undone. He was clearly struggling to maintain control.
"I'm heading to the bathroom," he murmured in a low voice near her ear, unable to restrain himself any longer.
Regina knew well enough that his trip to the bathroom wasn't for a shower. Lately, it seemed like he was deliberately avoiding her whenever he had to relieve himself.
As Douglas made a move to stand, he realized Regina hadn't shifted from his lap.
"Mrs. Semona?" he asked.
Regina's mind felt like a storm of clashing thoughts, sparking with excitement. Her grip on his neck tightened reflexively.
"I don't want you to go to the bathroom."
"Huh?"
"Just… stay here."
Douglas fell silent.
It was only after her words left her lips that Regina realized what she had just said.
Douglas chuckled, "Mrs. Semona, what's brought this sudden curiosity? Want to watch me take care of myself?"
His bluntness made Regina blush deeply, her gaze dropping as she tried to avoid eye contact.
"That's not what I meant. I just…"
She tried to explain, but it sounded more like an excuse.
"Why so flustered? You just wanted to see a show, right? I didn't say you couldn't."Regina's cheeks flushed an even deeper red as Douglas' teasing words sank in.
She sat on the couch, only inches away from him.
After a moment, she heard the unmistakable sound of a zipper being pulled down.
In an instant, Regina felt a shiver crawl down her spine.
A while later, Douglas was sitting on the couch, hastily cleaning up. In no time, he resumed his usual poised and distant demeanor, as if nothing had happened—except for the lingering, heavy scent in the air.
His gaze remained fixed on Regina, never wavering.
Indeed, it hadn't wavered even during his earlier moment of self-indulgence.
She just sat there, silently, doing nothing, and yet she was a catalyst for his desires.
Seeing Regina still seemingly dazed, he chuckled softly and teased, "So, Mrs. Semona, after witnessing the entire performance, don't you have any comments to share?"
Regina remained silent. Her mind was more confused than ever.
Douglas continued to tease her, "Don't you think it was quite the instructional demonstration? You're so smart and diligent in your studies—didn't you pick up any useful tips?"
Regina had tried to "help" him on two occasions before.
But each time, she had come off as awkward and inexperienced.
She often joked that she was a poor student in the realm of intimacy, no matter how hard she tried.
Unexpectedly, Douglas had just teased her with that comment. Regina awkwardly forced a smile and said, "I suppose I'm not exactly a natural in this area. I guess I'll need you to be even more detailed and patient in your teachings."
"Sure thing," he agreed cheerfully.
Regina remained somewhat disoriented.
It wasn't until Douglas walked over, bent down, and picked her up, carrying her to the bedroom, that she began to come back to her senses. "Pregnant women shouldn't stay up too late. It's getting late; you should sleep now. I'll take a shower and be right back, okay?"
Regina nodded obediently.
She closed her eyes and lay in bed, drifting into a peaceful sleep filled with pleasant dreams.
The next morning, Regina was jolted awake by the sound of a ringing phone.
Groggily reaching out from under the covers, she grabbed her vibrating phone, squinting at the caller ID before answering. With a lazy voice, she said, "Miranda, what's up?"
"Regina, I'm so mad! How could I be the last to know about such a huge event that happened yesterday?"
Regina couldn't help but laugh. She had thought Miranda was calling about something serious.
But Regina could understand the frustration Miranda felt.
Miranda had been waiting, holding onto this monumental secret, eager for the day she could boast about knowing it first.
And now, it seemed she was the last to find out.
Miranda sounded utterly deflated.
Regina, while trying to stifle her laughter, comforted her friend.
It had been a while since they'd talked, and their conversation stretched on, erasing Regina's sleepiness.
Douglas, already awake, held her close, listening to her phone call with an expression of adoration that seemed on the verge of overflowing.
It was a beautiful and cozy morning.
Soon after Regina ended her call, Douglas' phone rang as well.
