Chapter 59 Blot
In an instant, Regina's vision was plunged into darkness. Everything happened so suddenly that Regina felt as if she were frozen in place. She hesitated for a few seconds, subconsciously raising her hand to remove the hairband covering her eyes, but Douglas firmly held her hand with his crossed hands.
In this sensitive moment, all emotions were magnified. Regina's body tensed, her lips moved, but no sound came out. Douglas stared at her rosy lips, soft and incredibly tempting, as if he could taste the sweetness. He kissed her slowly and deeply. Regina's body became weak as if melting into the sofa. She was trapped in Douglas's passionate kiss. Every inch of her body felt like it was on fire.
Water flowed down her body, and she couldn't tell if it was sweat or her honey-like excitement. Last time, Douglas joked that she was made of water, and that couldn't be more true. Because his kiss was so intense that Regina felt an urgent and helpless sob. The memory of that night spread like a burning flame in Douglas's mind. That ultimate climax, deep into the bone marrow, once tasted, can never be forgotten.
After a long time, he finally let go of Regina's lips. The red hairband still covered her eyes, and the dim light illuminated her bruised lips. A complex mix of emotions formed a web in Regina's heart. She didn't move, as if she had already fallen into another world.
Douglas stared deep at the person beneath him, his brows furrowed deeply. He had lost control, and he didn't know why.
After a while, Regina's trembling fingertips untied the hairband covering her eyes. She met Douglas's intense gaze but avoided it nervously. Her mind was a little confused, unsure if it was because of the excitement or because of being kissed by him.
She muttered, "Why... why did you blindfold me just now?"
Why? He was sure he had lost his mind. He stared deeply at Regina, who was both puzzled and uneasy, and after a long time, he regained his composure. "I'm sorry."
Douglas's voice sounded low and hoarse in her ear. Regina didn't know why he suddenly did that, nor did she understand why he suddenly apologized. Although she didn't understand anything, she couldn't help but reply, "It's, it's okay..."
Regina thought he was apologizing for blindfolding her and kissing her. Regina thought, 'Maybe he was just impulsive? But there's really no need to apologize. After all, they are husband and wife.'
"But... can you not blindfold me again next time?" Regina hesitated for a long time, her voice small. "I don't like it. it makes me feel very uncomfortable."
For her, the red hairband was not all happy memories. That night was really bad. Regina even felt it in her heart, because of that one night, the red hairband that carried all her beautiful memories had become a blot.
Douglas, as always, sensitive, read her thoughts through her subtle expressions. Once again, faced with this matter, he chose to retreat. "I found this hairband in your room."
"I knew it." Regina quickly continued, "This hairband is a bit like the one I used to wear." But then this thing disappeared. Regina thought that she might have put it somewhere, after all, her memory was not always very good.
"I'm sorry." Seeing Douglas's uncomfortable expression, Regina was worried that he would misunderstand, so she explained seriously, "It's not because you made me uncomfortable, it's just that I remembered something that made me very uncomfortable."
Seeing her unconditional trust in him, Douglas felt a twinge of pain. In fact, he had many things he wanted to say to Regina, but he swallowed them back with difficulty.
"And I should apologize to you. I really... don't have the energy now." The silhouette of something under Douglas was so prominent that Regina's lips tightened, and she avoided his gaze with some guilt.
Douglas didn't react for a moment "What?"
"I really don't have the energy now, so I can't cooperate with you." Regina's words surprised him.
Douglas's heart had long been confused by her words. Although the physical reaction was obvious, he did not desire her. Seeing her weak body, and even breathing was a bit difficult, Douglas brought her two pills and urged her to take them before returning to her room to rest.
Fortunately, that night, Regina, lying on the bed, finally broke out in a sweat, and the fever subsided soon.
On the third day of Tasha's death, Regina decided to return to work.
"Don't you need to rest for a while?"
Regina shook her head "Staying at home alone every day will only make me more upset. I need to do something else to distract myself."
Work made Regina feel that life had become more fulfilling. After a busy day at work, Miranda came to find her. "Regina, let's go out for dinner tonight." Miranda knew that Tasha had passed away and was worried that Regina would be sad, so she tried to accompany her as much as possible and help her relax.
Regina saw Miranda's good intentions and nodded, "Didn't you mention that the new Tailando Restaurant near the company is very good? Let's go there tonight."
"Okay!"
Miranda treated Regina tonight and ordered several signature dishes from the restaurant. The sweet mango sticky rice and the spicy tom yum soup looked very tempting, especially since Regina's diet had been quite bland in the past few days. She happened to be hungry, so she started eating seriously.
Miranda saw Regina gradually returning to her and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. She had known Regina for many years, and in her impression, Regina had never been the kind of person who was easily defeated by things. They chatted while eating. Because they worked in the same company and had similar interests, the conversation never stopped whenever they got together.
Halfway through the meal, Regina suddenly remembered that she hadn't told Douglas about her dinner with Miranda. So she picked up her phone and sent him a message detailing everything, including the restaurant's location. Just as Regina was about to put down her phone, she happened to notice that Miranda had recently shared a post on Instagram, and she clicked on it out of curiosity.
Unexpectedly, this post was related to her. It all started when Miranda noticed that a novel she used to like, "Post-Nuptial Passion," had sold the radio drama rights. The official account of the radio drama posted a "recruitment notice" on Twitter, asking which voice actors' voices were most suitable for the male and female leads. Miranda not only retweeted this tweet but also shared the link to it on Instagram. And she added a caption saying “: [It must be Dougal and Regina! Their voices match perfectly, don't they?].”
