Chapter 185 Demanding Insanely

Douglas, who was always cold and restrained, wrapped his arm around Regina's waist, pinned her against the wall, and kissed her passionately!

They kissed deeply and emotionally, so much so that they didn't notice Lucia standing behind them.

Lucia's mind went blank. She had no idea what she was doing at the time. She unconsciously took out her phone and snapped a few photos of the two passionately kissing!

Then, she hurriedly fled the scene.

It was like a stress response.

That kiss lasted for a very, very long time.

In the midst of their kissing, Regina's chest heaved uncontrollably.

It wasn't until her face turned red and she was almost out of breath that Douglas finally let her go.

At that moment, it was clear that Regina was the one in distress, yet she gazed anxiously at Douglas, who appeared perfectly at ease. "Are you okay?" she asked, her concern evident.

Douglas gave a reassuring smile, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close. He inhaled the delicate scent of her hair and murmured, "I'm fine. Just missed you a bit."

Regina chuckled softly. "But I've been right here with you all evening."

She was practically by his side every day—how could he say he missed her?

Douglas' voice took on a teasing edge. "It's not just 'missing you.' I want to hold you, kiss you, and... well, make love."

As he said the last part, his lips brushed against her ear.

The warmth of his breath, mixed with the hint of alcohol, felt like it was searing straight into her heart.

Regina stiffened in his embrace.

She thought, 'He must be drunk to be so blunt.'

It took her a moment to regain her composure.

Her body was just too sensitive.

"We've been out too long," Regina said after a pause, trying to stay serious. "There are clients waiting. We should head back." She added with a touch of concern, "Mr. Semona, it's a public setting—please watch your image."

Douglas laughed, clearly entertained by her seriousness.

Though his tolerance for alcohol wasn't of the "drink a thousand and still stand" variety, he wasn't exactly in a state of drunkenness that would explain his forwardness. Still, seeing her so earnest, he decided to play along with his 'drunken' antics.

"Can I steal another kiss?" he asked playfully.

"Let's not."

"Just one more, and I promise I'll be good."

Regina, a bit dazed from his antics, found herself melting as his lips approached hers. Despite her protest, she ended up leaning in, lost in the intensity of the moment.

When they finally returned to the private room, it had been several minutes.

They entered together and took their seats.

Douglas, typically reserved and aloof in front of others, now appeared immaculate. His white shirt was buttoned up neatly to the top, concealing the red marks Regina had left on his neck in their passionate embrace. His face was the epitome of calm indifference, betraying none of the heated exchange that had occurred just moments before.

Regina did her best to cover up as well.

With her strikingly delicate features and naturally cool demeanor, she often appeared aloof when not smiling. Yet tonight, her face still bore a faint flush from their earlier encounter, creating a subtle discord with her usually composed expression.

"Regina, are you feeling hot? Your face is all flushed," Sue, sitting beside her, leaned over carefully to ask.

Regina, trying to hide her unease, nodded seriously. "A bit."

She picked up her glass of water and sipped slowly, trying to cool down and calm the intense heat she felt.

After setting the glass down, she glanced up and noticed Lucia across from her, staring intently as if trying to bore a hole through her with her gaze.

Regina felt increasingly uncomfortable under that piercing stare, an unsettling sensation she couldn't quite place.

The next morning, the strange feeling that had started the previous evening seemed to have taken over every corner of her being. It grew more intense by the hour.

As Regina walked through the office, she felt as though every pair of eyes was fixed on her, a sense that just wouldn't go away.

She could clearly tell that these gazes weren't friendly.

Entering the elevator amidst the morning rush, she was the last one in, and pressed the button for the floor leading to the CEO's office under the watchful eyes of everyone.

A sneering comment from somewhere triggered a chain reaction of whispers, quickly spreading through the cramped space.

The elevator felt suffocating, the atmosphere heavy with judgment.

Regina took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.

She carried a stack of documents back to her desk. As she sat down, Dorothy, who had been friendly the day before, approached her with a stern expression.

"Mr. Semona wants to see you in his office."

"Okay, I'll go right…"

Regina had intended to ask about some work-related details, but before she could finish, Dorothy had turned on her heel and left without a word.

Regina couldn't help but ponder the situation but maintained her composure as she walked into Douglas' office.

"Mr. Semona, is there something you need?"

Douglas looked at Regina, a hint of concern in his eyes.

"There's a meeting at three this afternoon. Please prepare for it."

Regina paused for a moment, surprised.

This was a regular internal meeting held every Friday.

Usually, Dorothy handled these, so Regina wasn't sure what Douglas expected her to do. But since he'd asked, she agreed to take it on.

However, she was a bit hesitant. "Mr. Semona, it's my first time handling this type of meeting. Could you let me know what I need to prepare?"

Douglas met her gaze calmly. "You don't need to prepare anything. Just be there."

By the end of the morning, rumors about Douglas and Regina were flying around the office.

"Can you believe she's like that? Using every trick in the book to get ahead, and she's even pregnant and still trying to seduce Mr. Semona?"

"Have you seen the photos? Mr. Semona seemed to enjoy her advances."

"Maybe he was drunk? I heard he drank quite a bit at the dinner last night."

"Possible. Regina must have taken advantage of him being drunk to pursue inappropriate behavior!"

"Remember that dinner when Mr. Semona first took office? She pretended to be drunk and made a scene asking the boss for a belt. I suspected she was doing it on purpose—alcohol is always the perfect excuse."

"I just can't stomach such disgusting behavior!"
