Chapter 175 Fascinated by Her

In the cold and serious office, he suddenly said something that made Regina feel like she was on pins and needles.

The swelling pain had always been there.

But how could Regina dare to tell the truth?

If she said yes, he would definitely lift her shirt and massage her right there in the office.

Thinking of this, Regina immediately shook her head, "It doesn't hurt much. I've been feeling pretty good lately."

Douglas could actually tell she was lying.

He didn't expose her, but he didn't let her leave either. Instead, he held her a bit longer, somewhat greedily.

In her body, three hearts were beating.

Douglas admitted he was insanely obsessed with it.

It was unclear how long it took before he finally let go of Regina.

Regina had been lingering in the office for a long time. Just as she was about to leave, she heard Douglas ask, "There's a dinner with Aurora's research team tonight. Can you come with me?"

Regina didn't think much of it at the time. She thought Douglas wanted her to translate for the project leader, Raymond, so she immediately agreed, "Sure."

The dinner was set at a five-star hotel in Oriant City. Douglas didn't avoid them and went to the dinner with Regina in the same car. He then pulled out a chair for Regina to sit next to him.

Regina hesitated for a moment as she looked into his eyes.

In the end, she found a moderate position and sat between Douglas and Raymond, ready to fulfill her translation duties.

But in fact, Douglas and Raymond had no problem communicating, making her presence as a translator somewhat redundant.

Just as she was feeling awkward, Raymond began to praise Regina in front of Douglas.

He talked about her talent for languages, her meticulous and professional work, and her beautiful face and charming personality.

Douglas accepted all the compliments.

After all, it was all true.

Who could deny that Regina was excellent?

Regina couldn't get a word in edgewise and just smiled.

During the meal, Douglas's eyes sometimes fell on Regina to see if she was eating.

Regina's appetite had improved in recent days, and she ate quite a bit. Seeing this, Douglas naturally started serving her food, and Regina accepted it. But soon, she realized something was off.

The lively and cheerful private room suddenly fell silent.

It is when Regina inadvertently looked up that she saw everyone's eyes were focused on them.

She then realized that her actions with Douglas were a bit across the line. After all, in everyone's eyes, Douglas was the boss, and she was just an employee.

"I've heard that Mr. Semona is very caring towards his subordinates, but I didn't expect him to be this attentive." Raymond said.

Regina instinctively wanted to pretend nothing had happened, but Raymond's words almost made her spit out her food.

Even more bizarre, Douglas reached out his hand to her mouth, trying to catch any food she might spit out.

This blatant display of affection made everyone widen their eyes.

Douglas acted as if he didn't notice, his eyes focused intently on Regina, asking worriedly, "Do you feel like throwing up again?"

Regina shook her head awkwardly, "I'm fine."

Then she looked at the people around the table, "Sorry."

Everyone quickly said, "It's okay," though they wanted to say more. But when they met Douglas' warning gaze, they all fell silent.

The relaxed and lively atmosphere in the private room then became a bit weird.

Later, Raymond secretly spoke to Regina in French, "Regina, what's your relationship with Mr. Semona?"

Regina said, "He's my boss."

"And besides that?" Unexpectedly, even Raymond, a foreigner, soon sensed something was off.

Regina didn't know how to respond.

Raymond's expression suddenly became serious, "Regina, I've always known you're a great person. You have strong work abilities, a beautiful appearance, and a sexy figure. A woman like you can easily make men fall for you. But there are some things I want to say to you."

The more Regina listened, the more she felt something was wrong, but she didn't interrupt and quietly listened.

Until Raymond changed his tone and said, "Mr. Semona is married, you know that, right?"

"I know."

"Regina, listen to me. You can find a better man, not a married one. Do you understand what I mean?"

Regina understood.

Raymond was worried she would become a mistress and felt it wasn't worth it for her.

Regina hadn't figured out how to respond when she heard Raymond mutter to himself, "I need to talk to Mr. Semona about this. Everyone in the company is watching. How can he do such a thing?"

It was said that the project was named Aurora because of Mrs. Semona.

Because Mrs. Semona liked the Northern Lights, and Aurora means "Northern Lights."

Raymond also noticed while working with Douglas that he was a caring husband. For example, if he worked a bit late, he would call Mrs. Semona. Even during the busiest times, he wouldn't forget to call her. At social events, he never smoked or drank because Mrs. Semona didn't like it.

Raymond had always firmly believed that Douglas was a man with a strong sense of proportion, but today's actions left him puzzled.

He thought, 'How could he be so affectionate with someone other than his wife?

'It isn't good for him, nor is it good for Regina's reputation.'

In short, Douglas' image in Raymond's mind seemed to deteriorate instantly. Unintentionally, Raymond's gaze towards Douglas carried a complicated feeling.

Seeing Raymond getting more and more conflicted, Regina thought for a moment and leaned slightly towards him, lowering her voice to speak in French that only the two of them could hear, "Raymond, I need to tell you something."

"Okay, go ahead."

No one knew what Regina said to Raymond, but after hearing her whisper, Raymond's eyes widened, and he stuttered in French, "Are you serious?"

Regina awkwardly smiled and nodded.

Raymond looked utterly shocked!

Douglas listened to them converse in a language he didn't understand. Although he didn't know what they were saying, he felt inexplicably jealous.

After the dinner, Raymond seemed to remain in a state of shock, appearing slightly tipsy as if he had drunk too much.

Back in the car, Douglas asked her, "Mrs. Semona, what did you say to Raymond?"

Probably sensing the meaning behind his words, Regina smiled and said, "I just told him that I'm married, and my spouse is you."

Otherwise, Raymond would suspect she was trying to be a mistress or that Douglas was having an affair.
