Chapter 22 Leave Me Alone, I Have a Husband
Douglas looked aloof, and his voice was serious, but Regina suddenly began to fantasize.
She was mesmerized by him. Douglas was wearing a suit. His clothes did not have a single wrinkle, yet Douglas still looked very sexy. Regina could almost see his strong muscles beneath the suit.
'He looks ripped. He must be good in bed,' she thought.
'Wait a minute!'
'Regina, what are you imagining about?' Regina felt guilty, thinking her thoughts were an insult to Douglas.
She didn't say anything, but her ears turned red. Douglas noticed and asked, "What's on your mind, Mrs. Semona? Your ears are red."
"Mr. Semona, I have no improper thoughts towards you! " Regina felt so guilty that she blurted out her thoughts.
Douglas looked disappointed and hoarsely murmured, "I got it. Mrs. Semona. I'll do my best to make you want me."
Regina fell silent. She rubbed her lip, feeling instantly awkward.
Douglas was pleased. He got up and went to the lounge. When he came back, he handed Regina two paper bags. Regina opened them to find fruits and a piece of cheesecake.
"Remember to come to my office every day to get something."
"You want me to take you fruit and cake?" Regina wondered, 'Is he afraid I'll get hungry at work?'
Douglas had yet to specifically say he wanted Regina to bring anything, as he planned to give her different gifts every day.
The next day, Regina received a lunchbox from Douglas's office filled with her favorite foods. Regina wanted to tell Douglas that he didn't have to prepare food for her every day because the company provided tasty meals, but she couldn't resist Douglas's warmth.
On the third day, Regina received another lunchbox and a beautiful ruby necklace. Regina looked at Douglas with confusion. Douglas calmly said, "We got married without dating. Our marriage lacks a stable foundation. I heard that marriage also needs maintenance, so it's my duty to prepare gifts for you every day and make you look forward to life." "If you don't like me giving you these gifts at the company, I can give them to you at home."
Although Regina didn't know what Douglas's intentions were, she could tell that he had never seemed interested in simply sharing a life in a perfunctory manner. He genuinely wanted to live their life well.
At that moment, Regina hesitated, but she didn't refuse anymore.
Regina thought, 'I will cherish and keep what he gives me.'
In the afternoon, Regina left Douglas's office. In the elevator, she met Marshall Mill, the general manager of the marketing department on the 16th floor. Marshall had been eyeing Regina for a long time. Regina stood at the farthest corner of the elevator to deliberately create distance between her and Marshall. Marshall sneered and stared at her from head to toe. Finally, his gaze settled on her chest. Marshall thought Regina had a large and soft chest.
Avoiding the surveillance, Marshall whispered, "To be honest, I don't understand why you're being so arrogant. Why won't you be with me? I have a good relationship with Ms. Liam, even with Mr. Semona. If I speak for you, you'll quickly get promoted in this company."
Regina felt that even a glance from Marshall would dirty her eyes. With a cold expression and a lowered voice, she said, "Get lost, I'm married now."
Marshall thought, 'She's married?' 'She's lying.'
'She just joined Century Group. Initially, she wrote in her application that she was unmarried. If she got married, I would definitely know because I've been keeping an eye on her.'
"I know you're ambitious. That day, you dared to ask Mr. Semona for his belt. But you can never seduce someone like Mr. Semona. Don't fantasize about things you can never have. Since you want to seduce Mr. Semona, you can have sex with me. I'll make sure you're satisfied. But why do you keep refusing me?"
Marshall's shamelessness disgusted Regina. Regina reached out to open the elevator door, but Marshall grabbed her roughly. Regina slapped Marshall directly. Although Regina was thin and looked weak, she made Marshall dizzy with the slap.
Marshall became furious and glared at Regina. "How dare you hit me? Fine. From today, I will make you leave Century Group. Nah, I will make you unable to survive!"
Since Marshall could become the general manager of Century Group, he was absolutely not a waste. The elevator door opened at that moment. Marshall angrily walked out. If he didn't have urgent matters, he would definitely punish Regina on the spot.
Regina knew that Marshall had already devised hundreds of ways to punish her immediately. She thought, 'The best thing I can do now is call the cop. 'I won't give him a chance to retaliate against me.' Regina immediately called the police. Within half an hour, the cop arrived.
At this time, Douglas summoned Marshall and other higher-ups to the conference room for a meeting. Several police officers suddenly interrupted the meeting.
"Marshall Mill, someone has accused you of sexual harassment. Please come out and cooperate with our investigation!"
Marshall quickly reacted as he looked at Regina standing next to the police. Marshall thought, 'Damn it!' 'This bitch actually called the police!'
Douglas had been staring at the data on the computer. He slowly looked up. In that moment of eye contact with Regina, he understood everything. Douglas became terrifyingly cold and turned off the computer directly. Marshall saw everything Douglas did. Marshall knew that Douglas was pissed off, but he thought Douglas must be angry with Regina.
Marshall thought, 'Regina called the cop and disrupted the meeting. She also damaged the reputation of Century Group. If this matter spreads, everyone will know that the employees of Century Group have been sexually harassed.'
Marshall was right, actually. This matter went viral quickly. Someone uploaded a video of the cop entering and leaving Century Group online with the keyword "sexual harassment of Century Group employees." Because it involved Century Group, the video had a greater impact and spread rapidly. Within a few hours, the video became a trending topic.
However, Marshall was not afraid. He thought, 'Regina ruined the company's reputation. She is just an unimportant employee in the company. Therefore, Douglas will definitely help me.' Marshall didn't care how the cop handled him. He was more concerned about how Douglas would deal with him.
"Regina, you're slandering me!" Marshall deliberately distorted the facts. "In the elevator, I warned you not to seduce Mr. Semona. I said Mr. Semona wouldn't have sex with his subordinates, but you argued with me and slapped me. And now you're accusing me of sexual harassment?"
