Chapter 132 She Threw Up

A suffocating and oppressive pain surged into Regina's heart almost in an instant.

Regina pushed through the discomfort and persevered, scrolling further down.

Although this account, which had been inactive for six years, had only posted a little over forty updates.

Those updates recorded the most critical turning points in her life.

For example, the pain of insomnia, hair loss, and menstrual irregularities caused by the immense pressure of preparing for the SAT during her senior year of high school.

And the fear of losing Tasha when she suddenly fell ill the day before the SAT exam, and Regina stayed with her in the hospital.

Occasionally, glimpses of her parents could be seen in these updates.

They recorded her mother's favoritism and her father's indifference.

Despite being accustomed to it since birth, there were moments when it unexpectedly pierced her heart like a sharp knife.

It was evident from those words.

Among these forty-plus updates, the majority were about Philip. Regina counted carefully and found that twenty of them were related to Philip.

After confirming her relationship with Philip, Regina thought she had found salvation.

She was not someone who liked to share much, but she had posted three updates about Philip in just one week.

The first one was posted at three in the morning on Monday.

She posted: [Yesterday was Sunday. Why didn't he message me all day?]

The second update was posted at nine in the evening the next day.

She posted: [He actually came to find me today. Because I was busy with a full day of classes and then went to a club activity in the evening, I forgot to reply to his message. He thought I was angry and came all the way from Oriant City to Normon City. I told him I wasn't angry, not at all. It's just that sometimes I don't like chatting or calling, I'm not very proactive, and I don't like to smile much.]

The third update was posted on Saturday.

There was no caption, just a few photos.

It seemed that she was with Philip that day. They went hiking to watch the sunrise, bought many things at the mall, and had dinner at a luxurious hotel.

None of the photos showed their faces, but there was one of them holding hands.

Regina looked at these words and photos, then shifted her gaze towards Douglas, who was resting with his eyes closed beside her. She couldn't imagine how he felt when he saw these.

"Idiot." Regina's eyes suddenly reddened, and she murmured softly. "Why didn't you come out when I couldn't see you?"

Just as Regina was about to continue scrolling, Douglas suddenly opened his eyes.

Regina instinctively turned her head towards the window, pretending to look at the scenery as if nothing had happened. She didn't want him to see her vulnerability at that moment, but the next second, her chin was gently pinched.

Douglas turned her head back to face him.

His warm, calloused fingers gently brushed her reddened eyes. He didn't say anything, just looked at her motionlessly.

Those were eyes that the more you looked into, the more you would fall.

Regina bit her lip and said softly, "Don't look at me like that, or I'm afraid..."

Seeing her hesitate, Douglas followed her words. "Afraid of what?"

Regina was silent for a moment, then said softly, "I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself."

Hearing this, Douglas's hand, which was touching her eye, stiffened. He seemed a bit incredulous, not expecting such words to come from her mouth.

But Regina, for once, seemed quite composed.

Douglas chuckled softly and withdrew his hand. "I'd love to see what you look like when you can't control yourself."

Regina subtly slowed her breathing, but her fingers gripping the phone tightened even more.

Suddenly, she asked, "Can I check on your phone?"

Regina had never asked to check Douglas's phone before. She didn't have the habit of checking his phone, and besides, a man like Douglas didn't need to be checked.

Hearing her sudden's request, Douglas was indeed momentarily puzzled, but he didn't think much of it and handed her his unlocked phone.

Regina took his phone.

"I found 'evidence' again," She said as she opened his Twitter, pointing to his following list, to that small account of hers that had been inactive for six years, and asked him. "Where did you dig up my secondary account? And how are we following each other?"

"Well, it's quite interesting," Douglas, caught by Regina, responded lightly. "You switched accounts by mistake."

"Wha... what?"

"Don't you have a verified social media account as a voice actor, Regina? When you first opened that account, I followed it. It had only a few thousand followers. One day, I commented on one of your posts, and you replied using this secondary account. Although you deleted it immediately after realizing it, I was staring at the screen the whole time."

Fortunately, at that time, Regina didn't have many followers, and her account interaction was low. Besides him, probably very few people knew about it.

However, now this secondary account had gained a lot of attention because Douglas publicly acknowledged their relationship on Twitter. As one of the only two accounts he followed, it had attracted a lot of attention, and the number of followers was inexplicably increasing.

Feeling guilty, Regina quickly set the account to private.

"As for why we follow each other?" His eyes were filled with a mischievous yet charming smile. "Of course, it was my careful planning to get you to follow me."

Regina had no recollection of it. She had no memory of it at all!

Regina lowered her eyes in disappointment. Just as she was about to say something, the car arrived near the airport. They got out of the car together, and Douglas didn't mention it again.

So, was she going to look for the next 'evidence'?

Regina thought that if this 'evidence-finding' game continued, it might never end. She might spend her whole life looking.

And that was fine.

She would spend her whole life discovering how much he loved her.

By the time they returned to Oriant City, it was already evening.

Half of their two-day trip was spent on the road.

When they got home, Betty had already prepared dinner, but Regina had no appetite and felt very tired.

Under Douglas's worried gaze, she reluctantly sat at the dining table and picked up the utensils.

Douglas served her a bowl of light soup, which Regina usually liked. However, she had only taken a small sip when her face suddenly changed, and her stomach churned.

She covered her mouth and dry-heaved, unable to swallow even a little bit, and had to spit that small sip of soup into an empty plate.

After catching her breath, she was about to apologize to Douglas for her rudeness at the table when she saw his eyes fixed on her, his expression serious and tense.
