Chapter 192 Boy and Girl Twins

In the executive office, Douglas was absorbed in reviewing contracts when a knock came at the door.

He glanced up and called out, "Come in."

As expected, it was Regina stepping through the door.

Douglas had become so attuned to her presence that he could almost identify her by the rhythm of her knocks.

He set aside his work.

"What's up?" he asked.

Regina placed a stack of documents on his desk and said with her usual poise, "Mr. Semona, these are the materials needed for the Aurora project technical meeting this afternoon. I've organized everything."

"Thank you."

"Is there anything else, Mr. Semona?" Regina asked attentively.

Despite her formal demeanor, Douglas couldn't help but entertain some unprofessional thoughts.

He checked the time—it was nearly noon, approaching lunch hour.

"How about joining me for lunch?"

Regina didn't hesitate this time and nodded. "Sure."

Soon, Dorothy brought their lunch. They settled at the table, leisurely enjoying their meal. Regina, who had a bit of a workaholic streak, occasionally brought up work-related topics during their lunch.

As Douglas ladled out a bowl of soup, he remarked, "As a boss, having a diligent and dedicated employee like you is a privilege. As a husband, having you as my wife is equally fortunate."

Regina chuckled at his words and responded, "Mr. Semona, you have quite the way with words. You always know how to make someone smile."

After lunch, Regina reviewed Douglas' afternoon schedule. She needed to accompany him to the technical meeting.

This meeting was significant as it involved an international collaboration. Along with Raymond, the project lead for Aurora, there would be two R&D members from Germany present.

Regina was the host of this technical discussion.

She smoothly managed the flow of the meeting, providing robust support for Douglas' work.

Raymond, seeing Regina again, couldn't help but express his admiration. "Regina, you're truly outstanding!"

At their last dinner, Raymond had heard Regina admit her marriage to Douglas, a revelation that had left a strong impression on him. He had expected her to carry herself with an air of Mrs. Semona.

Yet, Regina remained as dedicated and precise as ever, even more so than before.

Regina accepted Raymond's praise with a smile.

After the meeting, which ended around 3 PM, Regina remembered that Douglas had an important appointment with a government official, one that she wasn't required to attend.

Just as she was about to head back to her office, Douglas picked up his car keys and motioned for her to follow. "Let's go, Mrs. Semona."

Regina looked at him with a hint of confusion. "Where are we going?"

"To the hospital."

It was then that Regina remembered today was her prenatal check-up.

"No need to rush. I can go this weekend or even later today by myself. If you're really concerned, Jason can drive me."

Regina was worried about delaying Douglas' afternoon schedule, which she knew was crucial.

"I've said it before—I don't want to miss a single one of your check-ups."

Seeing her still hesitant, Douglas was straightforward. "The afternoon appointment has been rescheduled due to mutual availability."

With Douglas being so adamant, Regina didn't argue further and followed him out.

At the hospital, they didn't need to wait; they were quickly guided to the examination room.

Douglas turned to the doctor. "What will we be doing today?"

"We're doing an ultrasound to check the baby's development."

"Can I come in?"

"Certainly, Mr. Semona."

The doctor was used to Douglas' presence by now. He had accompanied Regina through several appointments, and their story was becoming quite known among the staff.

It was clear that this big shot truly adored his wife.

Soon, Douglas was following the doctor into the ultrasound room.

Regina lay quietly on the examination table as the technician moved the ultrasound wand across her slightly rounded belly, scanning for the two little ones inside.

The doctor spoke in technical jargon that Regina didn't fully grasp.

It wasn't until the doctor said "healthy" and "everything looks normal" that Regina let out a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Semona, Mrs. Semona, congratulations!"

Suddenly, the doctor added with a smile, "You're having a boy and a girl—twins!"

Regina's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't fully processed the news before the doctor's cheerful words sank in, leaving her with a mixture of astonishment and joy.
