Chapter 197 She Suddenly Started Forgetting Things

Douglas eagerly shared those photos across all his personal and work accounts. This time, it wasn't just close-ups of Regina; there were also pictures of them together, making it feel like a grand public announcement about their relationship.

Basically, everyone knew he and his wife went to see the northern lights.

Behind the scenes, folks started buzzing.

"Oh, my god, I am moved again!"

"Seriously, when's Mr. Semona gonna start a photography class? Every pic is so good!"

The photo Douglas shared had them standing face to face.

She was on her tiptoes, arms around his neck, while he held her waist, bending down a bit to match her height. They were locked in a deep gaze, totally lost in each other.

The awe-inspiring northern lights behind them? They were just a backdrop to that unforgettable moment.

A week on Icy Island left Regina with some killer memories.

She and Douglas even made a pact: no matter how busy life got, they'd carve out time for at least one solo trip together every year.

Their private jet touched down in Oriant City late at night.

Regina was asleep, and Douglas didn't wake her.

Maybe it was the pregnancy, but Regina was extra sleepy. By the time she woke up, it was already morning.

Regina felt pretty good today and planned to hit the office.

Her due date was in March next year, and after chatting with the doc and getting a nudge from the Semona fam, they decided Regina would take maternity leave after wrapping up her work for the year.

Regina was cool with it, thinking a break would be nice, especially since the main thing now was a safe delivery.

Douglas had his morning workout routine, and when Regina got to the dining room, he had just finished his workout and showered.

During their week on Icy Island, they escaped their hectic work lives, and both looked super refreshed after the vacay.

Douglas pulled out a chair and sat across from her.

He was in his business suit, looking sharp as ever. Regina couldn't help but stare at him.

Seeing she hadn't started eating, Douglas teased, "You full just from looking at me?"

Regina giggled and shot back, "Looking won't cut it; you gotta feed me yourself."

Douglas caught the playful tone in Regina's words.

Was she flirting with him?

Douglas looked at Regina, who was sipping her milk, with a loving smile and said seriously, "You gotta watch it and not overeat, okay?"

Regina went quiet.

After breakfast, they headed to the office together.

As soon as Regina sat down at her desk, she saw Dorothy strutting in, heels clicking.

There were still a few minutes before work started, and Regina could tell Dorothy wasn't there for business. Dorothy looked kinda nervous.

"Dorothy, what's up?"

"Well..." Dorothy hesitated, "There's something I've been meaning to tell you."

"Spill it."

"Well, before I knew you and Mr. Semona were a thing, I was kinda cold to you, and I'm really sorry about that."

Regina hadn't really given it much thought, but Dorothy felt she had to get it off her chest.

"Right before you guys went public, there were all these rumors flying around the office about you and Mr. Semona having something shady going on. I bought into that crap and treated you like dirt."

Regina barely remembered that drama.

But since Dorothy was apologizing, Regina just shrugged it off, "No biggie. Seriously, don't sweat it."

Upon hearing that, Dorothy let out a big sigh of relief.

Over time, working closely with Regina, Dorothy had figured out what kind of person she really was.

Even though Regina could come off as a bit distant, she was actually super nice and didn't hold grudges.

Dorothy's apology was as much for her own peace of mind as anything else.

Seeing Dorothy still hanging around her desk, Regina asked, "Anything else?"

"Oh, yeah, some work stuff."

When it came to work, they both got down to business.

As they chatted, Regina suddenly felt parched.

She got up to grab some water, but as she stood, a wave of dizziness hit her.

Dorothy noticed and quickly steadied her.

Seeing Regina's pale face, Dorothy freaked out a bit, "You okay?"

"I'm fine." Regina rubbed her temples, thinking, "Probably just low blood sugar."

The doc had mentioned anemia could be a thing during pregnancy and to keep an eye on it.

Thinking of that, Regina pulled out an iron supplement from her bag and took it.

"Mrs. Semona, you should chill for a bit. Mr. Semona's got a meeting with the government this morning, so you shouldn't be too swamped. Should we let him know?"

Regina quickly stopped her, "No need to bother him."

Dorothy hesitated but watched as Regina went back to her desk.

Regina thought she'd feel better after a bit, but the dizziness turned into a pounding headache that wouldn't quit.

She felt like she couldn't even keep her head up.

She had to lay her head down on her desk, trying to ease the pressure.

By noon, Dorothy brought her some lunch.

Even though Regina had been hungry in the morning, now just looking at the food made her feel queasy.

She forced herself to nibble a bit.

Seeing something was off, Dorothy immediately called Douglas.

He rushed back in no time.

Even though it was winter, Regina noticed the sweat on Douglas's face. "We're going to the hospital."

"It's probably just normal pregnancy stuff," Regina felt a bit better, "But I am kinda hungry now. I want some cheesecake."

"Alright, I'll get it."

"Mr. Semona, I got this!" Dorothy jumped in and looked at Regina, "Mrs. Semona, which bakery do you want the cheesecake from?"

Regina wanted to tell her, but it was like her brain hit a wall.

It was so weird.

She suddenly couldn't remember the name of her favorite bakery.
