Chapter 228 Somewhat Inappropriate
Douglas looked down at Regina, a soft, indulgent smile playing on his lips.
"Mrs. Semona, marrying you was a decision I made ages ago. Don't worry, I'll cherish you forever."
His vow was short, but he had a lifetime to prove it.
After the wedding ceremony, there was a luncheon, a dinner, and a bunch of activities.
Regina changed into a red dress and followed Douglas around to entertain the guests.
Everyone was in high spirits, all smiles, and eager to toast the newlyweds. Regina only took small sips, leaving the rest for Douglas to finish.
Charles, Michael, and Josh almost said in unison, "Douglas, take it easy."
Charles, laughing the loudest, added, "If you pass out before the real party starts, that's no good."
Douglas took a slow sip of his wine and shot a glance at Charles.
That look made Charles uneasy.
He was about to say something when Douglas spoke up, "You can mess with me, but don't mess with my wife."
He said it calmly, but just as Leo and Charles' grandfather, Trevor Rodriguez, were passing by.
Sure enough, the two elders heard it.
"What?" Leo said, "Douglas is right, you can mess with him, but not Regina. If anyone dares to mess with Regina, they'll have to answer to me."
Trevor immediately slapped the back of Charles' head, "What are you up to now? If you cause trouble today, you'll regret it!"
Charles didn't have time to respond before Douglas spoke again, respectfully to Trevor, "Please don't say that. Charles and I are like brothers. Even if he did mess with me, I'd forgive him. He's younger and more playful. He'll understand once he gets married."
Charles was speechless.
Look at what Douglas said!
He just wanted Trevor to give Charles a hard time!
Sure enough, when Trevor heard Douglas mention being playful and marriage, he glared at Charles with disappointment.
"Don't stay out too late tonight, come home early."
Charles couldn't say a word.
He rolled his eyes and looked down, like a wilted flower.
Seeing this, Douglas raised an eyebrow slightly.
He wrapped his arm around Regina's waist and continued to toast. No matter how much he drank, he always held a wine glass in one hand and never let go of Regina's waist with the other.
The next table to toast was the company folks.
All the senior management and some department colleagues, probably over a hundred people, showed up today.
After a while, Douglas asked a waiter to bring a pair of flat shoes and personally helped Regina change into them.
The colleagues were used to Douglas's stern and decisive demeanor in the business world. When his relationship with Regina became public, they occasionally saw his crazy love for her. But now, seeing him bend down to change her shoes, they were stunned.
In front of Regina, Douglas was always as devoted as a believer.
After helping her with the shoes, he asked, "Feel better now?"
Regina nodded lightly.
"Matt and Lily are in the lounge. Go keep them company. I'll handle things here."
"But it's our wedding day," Regina laughed. "Leaving you alone doesn't seem right."
"I'm not tired," she quickly added.
Regina hadn't put much effort into the wedding planning. All she had to do was look beautiful and be the bride!
She was getting used to the lively atmosphere and didn't find it tiring at all.
After toasting the last table, Regina followed Douglas to the lounge to see Matt and Lily.
They were so well-behaved today, probably knowing it was Douglas and Regina's big day, always smiling.
In the evening, the entire estate lit up with a fireworks display.
Everyone knew Regina loved fireworks, so Douglas went all out for this show.
He hired the world's top fireworks master to design it.
Traditional fireworks were fleeting, but this display was something else. The sky was like a canvas, with beautiful and brilliant fireworks painting vivid pictures, each stroke telling of his deep and intense love.
The two stood under the fireworks, looking up at the endless display above.
It was a beautiful scene.
Just watching their silhouettes under the fireworks from afar, you wouldn't want to disturb them.
Charles and his group looked at the scene in confusion. "Are they planning to stand there and watch fireworks all night?"
Charles felt like tonight's celebration might get canceled.
But luckily, Regina and Douglas returned to their room by ten o'clock.
As the fireworks continued outside, Regina stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, about to indulge in the spectacle a little longer, when the room door swung open.
Charles and Nicole were at the front, followed by many others.
"Take off your clothes, Douglas!" Charles said as soon as he entered, eyeing Douglas' custom black suit.
Everyone couldn't help but exclaim.
They thought, 'Are we really going to see Douglas' physique tonight?'
Even Regina was stunned, thinking, 'Isn't this a bit much?'
Seeing Douglas hesitate, Charles said, "Douglas, no need to be so resistant. I'm just asking you to take off your expensive suit jacket. Otherwise, it'll be inconvenient to do push-ups later."
"Push-ups?" Regina was a bit surprised.
Charles flashed an innocent smile and said to Regina, "Regina, don't worry. I'm just helping you test Douglas' physical limits. You know he's three years older than you, over thirty now. Sometimes he might not have the strength. Tonight, let's consider these hundred push-ups as his exercise."
When it came to stamina, Regina actually knew best.
She wanted to tell Charles not to worry, but thought it might be rude.
As Regina pondered in silence, Douglas slowly took off his suit jacket.
He was wearing a white shirt underneath, the high-quality fabric clinging to his well-defined muscles, making him look incredibly sexy.
He asked Charles, "How many?"
Charles casually said, "A hundred."
Nicole, standing nearby, scoffed dismissively. 'Just a hundred? Isn't that easy?'
"Wait, there's an additional condition!"
As soon as Douglas got into the push-up position, Charles quickly pulled Regina to his side, "Regina has to sit on your back."
Everyone got even more excited upon hearing this.
Charles really knew how to have fun!
Regina was a bit bewildered by the commotion, her eyes showing some confusion.
Douglas, however, looked at her openly and signaled, "Sit on, Mrs. Semona."
Douglas was in a good mood and willing to play along.
Regina hesitated but then sat on Douglas' strong waist. Under everyone's watchful eyes, her face couldn't help but turn red.
Charles got more excited. "Alright, Regina, hold onto Douglas' waist and sit tight. He's about to start."
While Regina was feeling embarrassed, the others were enthusiastically counting for Douglas.
Regina sat steadily on his back, going up and down.
Even with her on his back, a hundred push-ups were still a piece of cake for Douglas.
Seeing Douglas finish so easily, Charles felt a bit deflated.
Nicole chimed in from the back, "Why don't you guys try to break a Guinness World Record?"
What was that?
Nicole made up something on the spot, "I heard the longest kissing record in the world is fifty hours. How about you two start with fifty minutes?"
Fifty minutes?
"Holy crap!" Charles exclaimed, "Nicole, that's quite a challenge."
Before Nicole could respond, everyone started chanting again.
"Kiss!"
"Kiss!"
"Kiss!"
Having just finished a hundred push-ups, Douglas didn't even catch his breath before he walked over to Regina. He whispered in her ear, "Let's get done with it, okay?"
Regina smiled and went along with him.
Kissing for fifty minutes was out of the question.
But they both enjoyed the moment of hugging and kissing.
The kiss was very passionate.
Nicole covered her mouth with one hand and Nancy's eyes with the other.
The large, lively room seemed to be filled with an intense heat because of their kiss.
When they finally finished, Charles looked at his watch. "No way, Douglas, you only kissed for five minutes. You're far from the Guinness World Record."
Douglas responded seriously, "When you get married next time, I think you should try to break the record for the longest time making love. I'll be there to witness it."
Charles couldn't help but blush at Douglas' straight-faced comment.
Later, more people joined in the fun, but it was all harmless. Regina and Douglas played along until about one in the morning when everyone finally left.
The two took a bath and lay down on the soft, comfortable bed.
As the excitement gradually faded, Regina still felt a lingering warmth in her heart.
After a whole day of festivities, even those who had been playing around were tired, but they seemed tireless.
In the room, they were making love tirelessly.
Even though they had been intimate many times before, this time felt different for them.
"Douglas."
In the heat of the moment, Regina's whole body seemed to be filled with love and happiness. She softly murmured his name.
Douglas' long, defined fingers slowly covered Regina's hand.
Under the bright light, every inch of their skin was clearly exposed to each other's eyes.
The air was filled with the intense scent of burning desire.
The next day, when Regina woke up, it was already broad daylight.
She lazily moved her body and bumped into Douglas' warm embrace.
"Good morning, Mrs. Semona."
"Good morning."
After Regina softly murmured, Douglas' lips kissed her.
He seemed to crave kissing her.
As he kissed her, Regina gradually woke up.
She said, a bit breathlessly, "Aren't we supposed to see Grandpa and your parents this morning?"
According to Oriant City customs, they should do these things on the first day after the wedding.
"It doesn't matter."
Regina looked at him, puzzled. "What do you mean it doesn't matter?"
"Everyone was worried you were tired yesterday. They messaged me last night, asking me to tell you to get some extra sleep today and rest well."
The Semona family valued etiquette, but these etiquettes didn't seem as important when it came to Regina.
After all, Regina had gone through childbirth, a surgery, and took care of Matt and Lily while preparing for her exams to join the State Department. Everyone wanted her to rest.
Regina didn't care what Douglas said, quickly threw off the covers, and got out of bed.
In the morning, Regina went to the Semona Estate to see Leo, Herman, and Elizabeth.
"Regina is back!"
Before she even entered the hall, Regina heard Leo's hearty and cheerful voice from afar.
Herman and Elizabeth had personally arranged a grand feast and prepared many wedding gifts for her.
Regina quickened her pace towards the house.
"Leo, Herman, Elizabeth!"
"Was it tiring yesterday?" As soon as Leo saw Regina, he bombarded her with questions, even asking if Charles had bullied her last night.
Regina laughed and waved her hand. "Leo, he really didn't."
Leo finally sighed in relief.
"Look at you." Only Douglas dared to openly contradict Leo, "How could I let anyone bully my wife?"
"Yes, you will protect your wife." Leo said with a smile, "Then you must protect her for a lifetime."
