Chapter 215 She Went to Find Philip

Douglas kept a close eye on Regina's every move.

When he saw the sparkle in her eyes, he felt his tension ease up a bit. "What's up?"

"I remember this is my favorite cheesecake!" Regina said, grabbing the cake from the table and taking a bite.

"Want some?" Out of nowhere, Regina scooped up another spoonful and offered it to him.

Douglas ate the cake she fed him, just like before.

Regina plopped down on the sofa in his office with the cake, picked up her phone, and snapped a picture of it.

Then, she instinctively opened her photo album.

For someone who used to hate taking photos, she now had thousands stored in her album.

These photos served as a diary during her illness, capturing moments of her life with Douglas.

The first photo she saw was her medical report.

She stared at it, reading every word.

As she read, her eyes started to sting and water.

She took a deep breath and kept flipping through the photos.

Soon, she stumbled upon a video from last year.

Douglas was wearing a black coat andstanding under the brilliant fireworks.

His graceful posture and the way he looked at her were more beautiful than the fireworks that night.

Her voice broke the beautiful scene. "I hope I never forget you in this lifetime. This is my dearest Mr. Semona, my most beloved husband, and I will love him well for the rest of my life."

To avoid disturbing Douglas's work, Regina wore headphones while watching these videos on the sofa.

Douglas, sitting far away, couldn't see what was on her phone or hear anything, but he could easily see her reddened eyes.

He suddenly pulled back his chair and walked over to her.

As soon as he reached her, Regina turned off her phone and stood up.

She threw herself into his arms, hugging his waist tightly.

Now it was Douglas's turn to be at a loss.

Regina's voice was choked with sobs as she said, "I love you, honey. I love you."

She kept repeating it in her mind, thinking that if she said it more and went over it in her head more, she could remember it longer.

She knew she was ill, just like a lunatic.

With her current erratic and bad state, how hard it must be for him.

"I'm sorry." She cried out loud, soaking the front of his shirt with her tears.

Douglas finally got what was happening.

"Why are you apologizing? I know you're trying very hard to remember me." Douglas cupped her cheeks, gently kissing away her tears. "How about we go home after finishing the cake?"

Regina nodded heavily.

The car drove all the way home.

Regina sat in the passenger seat, looking out the window at the bustling scenery, her expression momentarily dazed.

Days passed like this, and Douglas confirmed the final surgery date with Regina's doctor.

The doctor told him to keep her emotions stable during this period and avoid any emotional stress.

Most of the time leading up to the surgery was calm.

But that one stormy incident nearly drove Douglas to the brink of collapse.

It was past ten at night, and after Regina fell asleep, Douglas headed to the bathroom for a shower. But not long after she dozed off, Regina started dreaming.

She dreamt about that night at the Seasons Hotel and Philip. Her mind was a whirlwind, and she didn't know what she was thinking. It was like she was possessed, wandering out of the room.

When Douglas finished his shower and came out, he found her gone!

He immediately checked the house's surveillance and saw Regina had left.

At that moment, Douglas felt like he was about to lose it.

The last bit of rationality left in him quickly made him check the street surveillance.

He saw Regina get into a taxi after leaving the apartment, which headed to the Peace Club.

Douglas immediately called Charles, who, unsurprisingly, was at Peace Club.

"Douglas, what's..."

Douglas interrupted, "Is Philip at Peace Club?"

Charles was stunned for a moment, thinking he hadn't heard Philip's name from Douglas in a long time.

Back when Douglas had just married Regina, sometimes when he casually mentioned Philip's name, Douglas would hear it and cause him a lot of trouble.

But ever since Douglas and Regina's relationship stabilized, Philip seemed to no longer stir any waves in Douglas's eyes.

Charles thought that Douglas urgently looking for Philip now must mean that Philip had shaken his relationship with Regina again.

"But didn't Philip get stabbed by his brother a while ago and was lying in the hospital in critical condition? I haven't heard of him doing anything recently."

"Cut the crap and find out immediately."

Philip used to be a regular at Peace Club, and such a person couldn't stay low-key. If he appeared at a crowded place like Peace Club, it would be easy to find out.

Douglas didn't hang up the phone and stayed in contact with Charles the whole time.

The silver sports car sped down the wide road like a flash of lightning.

Charles could vaguely hear the wind in his ear.

He knew the situation was urgent and didn't dare delay, so he immediately found the club manager to ask about the situation.

"Mr. Sterling? He did come here tonight."

Hearing this, Douglas's grip on the steering wheel tightened unconsciously.

Charles sensed something was wrong and quickly asked, "Why is he here? Which suite is he in, and is there anyone else in the suite?"

The manager was a bit confused by the rapid questions. He gathered his thoughts and replied, "He hasn't been here for a long time. Since his dad died, he hasn't come here much. He arrived an hour ago, and he looked quite weak today. I guess the stab from his brother affected his health a lot..."

Charles could feel Douglas's impatience and quickly interrupted the manager's rambling, "Get to the point."

"He's in the Spring Garden Suite. I don't know if there's anyone else in the suite, but I know he seemed to have arranged to meet someone here."

Charles felt uneasy!

Before he could speak, he heard Douglas on the other end of the phone, "Go to that suite and find him. I'll be there in ten minutes."

Without a word, Charles ran over.

At that moment, Mars was standing guard at the suite door with a few bodyguards.

Seeing Charles, he wasn't surprised. He nodded slightly and said formally, "Hello, Mr. Rodriguez."

Charles clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Move aside and let me in. Otherwise, everyone here will be dead!"
