Chapter 213 What Are You Talking About

Regina never thought she'd end up doing something like that with Douglas today, especially in a place like this.

Ever since she found out she was pregnant, they'd been super careful for almost a year.

But this time, they just lost it.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the lounge door.

Regina was still basking in the afterglow. The knock snapped her back to reality.

She scrambled to put on her dress, but in her rush, she struggled with the zipper.

Douglas strolled over, calm as ever, and zipped up her dress slowly. He even straightened out the hem before grabbing his shirt and pants from the sofa.

He walked to the door and opened it, revealing a crowd.

Nicole and Charles were at the front, with Michael, Josh, and a few other young folks behind them.

"Douglas, you're one of the main stars today. Instead of mingling at the party, you're hiding out here?" Nicole looked puzzled, glancing them. "Grandpa's been looking for you everywhere, and Matt and Lily are crying for their mom. Why didn't you answer your phone?"

Everyone thought something bad had happened.

Regina was still recovering, and Leo was worried, so he sent the younger ones to find them.

Regina tried to act normal, as nothing happened. Douglas, even more so, kept his cool, looking like nothing could rattle him. But Charles, who knew a thing or two about love, took one look and knew exactly what went down.

He cleared his throat and said, "Douglas, you might want to cover up. You've got a mark on your neck."

Everyone's eyes turned to Douglas's neck; even Regina looked.

When she saw the small red mark, like a mosquito bite, she couldn't help but be impressed by Charles's sharp eye.

With Charles's comment, everyone quickly figured out what had happened between Regina and Douglas in the lounge.

Regina wished she could disappear.

Douglas, unfazed, wrapped his arm around her waist, still as calm as ever. "We've got some unfinished business. Can you wait outside for a bit?"

The group at the door stared at Douglas in shock, unable to believe that someone so classy could say something so bold!

Regina was now thoroughly embarrassed.

"Alright, you two carry on. We won't bother you!"

With that, the group quickly left.

Back in the lounge, Douglas unzipped Regina's dress again, his eyes lingering on her chest, where her breasts were starting to ache.

Regina, still a bit dazed, didn't fully grasp what was happening until Douglas was right in front of her.

By the time they were done, twenty minutes had passed.

Regina stood in front of the full-length mirror, checking herself over and over. Once she was sure everything was in order, she and Douglas headed back to the banquet hall.

She went straight to Matt and Lily.

They had just woken up, their bright eyes staring at Regina, melting her heart.

Matt and Lily were each held by Douglas and Regina, looking like adorable little ornaments.

They standing there made a beautiful picture.

After the celebration for the little ones, Regina felt pretty wiped out.

Having kids had taken a toll on her energy and stamina, and she was still recovering.

After washing up, Regina went back to the bedroom and lay down for a nap, which wasn't restful.

Her headache started to come back.

Her mind felt blank, like a clear sky suddenly covered by thick snow, obscuring everything.

When she woke up the next day, she stared blankly around her.

A sense of complete unfamiliarity washed over her.

Douglas heard the noise and pushed open the door, walking in. Just as he was about to approach Regina, he saw her instinctively move back.

Douglas's outstretched hand froze in mid-air.

Douglas was meticulous and sensitive, especially when it came to Regina.

These days, he could judge her condition with just a glance.

He already had a bad feeling.

"Mrs. Semona?" he called softly, testing the waters.

Regina stared at him blankly, a reaction without consciousness. She took a deep breath, trying to figure out something.

Douglas added, "I think we should try a six-month trial marriage. We can have a prenuptial agreement, and if it doesn't work out, we can separate anytime."

Regina asked, "What did you mean?"

"I mean, considering everything, we shouldn't make our marriage public." Douglas held his breath, looking at her.

These words sounded familiar.

That was what she had said to him on their blind date.

He thought to himself, 'So, her memory had it regressed to the day of their blind date? But everything was so normal just yesterday.'

Even though Douglas had been prepared for this, when the moment actually came, it felt like his heart was ripped out.

He wondered if her memory would continue to regress.
