Chapter 26 When Are You Going to Have a Baby

Douglas opened Instagram and admired the two photos. Soon, he received many likes and glanced at the various comments below the photos.
Regina, eating her dinner, observed him, unaware of his Instagram post, and felt puzzled by his continuous focus on his phone. "Isn't the spaghetti to your liking?"
The servant had prepared a fancy dinner, but Douglas' stomach, feeling unwell, desired something bland. Regina took the initiative to prepare a serving of spaghetti for him.
"It's really tasty," Douglas remarked, setting his phone aside to enjoy the meal. He quickly finished the spaghetti, not to please Regina but because he genuinely found it tasty.
"Do you feel better?" Regina, still getting to know Douglas, had a hunch about his health. Jokingly, she mentioned, "I heard that nine out of ten CEOs have stomach issues."
At least, Philip had stomach problems. His stomach was in bad shape. He also enjoyed staying up late and drinking. Douglas chuckled. "I have no bad habits. Not only is my stomach fine, but all my organs are in perfect condition. Please don't worry, Mrs. Semona."
Regina wondered if she was imagining things, sensing an underlying implication in Douglas's words. Her mind started to wander, and she scrutinized Douglas. Whenever she thought about that aspect, she blushed. Afraid of being exposed, she quickly retreated to her room. Douglas, looking at the closed door, felt helpless.
After Regina entered her room, she lay on the bed in a daze, gazing at the ceiling light. Exhausted from the day's busyness, she soon drifted off to sleep. Suddenly, certain images flooded her mind, and her body grew warm. She heard the sound of clothes tearing, her own urgent and helpless moans mingling with a man's rough breathing.
She had dreamt of Douglas. The man, usually cold and reserved in a suit, appeared very sexy without his clothes. He was a dominant and fierce conqueror. At first, Regina felt panic in the dream, but eventually, she found pleasure in it. Finally, she woke up. Because she had dreamt of the red hairband that had been covering her eyes, she dreamt of that night. She could no longer clearly see Douglas's face and didn't know who the person dominating her was. Regina was drenched in sweat, sitting on the bed, shaking her head, her eyes slightly red. She felt like she was on the verge of a mental breakdown. She fantasized about being with Douglas for no reason, always associating him with that night. Her first time was not a pleasant memory. When she recalled that night, she felt it was a nightmare. It was tormenting.
She dragged her tired body to the bathroom, stood under the shower, and let the water flow over her.
The next morning, Regina saw Douglas's Instagram. He had posted twice, and both were related to her. Regina stared at her phone, feeling a mix of surprise and fear. After hesitating for a long time, Regina silently liked Douglas's Instagram posts.
On the weekend, Douglas accompanied Regina to visit Tasha. Tasha's condition suddenly improved, and Regina was happy, sitting beside Tasha, wanting to say many things. Douglas discussed Tasha's condition with the doctor outside the ward. Tasha kept looking towards the door, growing fonder of Douglas.
"Regina, you have a good eye. I know he loves you, and he will treat you well," Tasha said.
Regina didn't overthink and agreed with Tasha. "Yeah, Tasha, he loves me, and he treats me well. Besides, he graduated from a famous university and is knowledgeable, well-off, and charming. So, you don't need to worry."
Tasha smiled. "Since he's so great, when do you plan to have a baby?" Regina was frozen. At this moment, Douglas finished his conversation with the doctor and walked in.
"Douglas," Tasha said with great interest, "I was asking Regina when you plan to have a baby."
Regina sought help from Douglas with her eyes. Douglas glanced at her and smiled. "Tasha, don't worry. We will do it as soon as possible. We are already planning for it." Upon hearing Douglas's words, Tasha was delighted and looked more spirited. "Really?"
"Yes," Douglas said meaningfully, glancing at Regina. "We've been working on it recently."
Tasha understood the implication in Douglas's words.
"I look forward to your good news. I hope to see your child next year." Tasha sighed. "I hope I'll still be alive next year. I want to cherish every day."
Tasha's words made Regina feel guilty. Tasha raised her. After graduating, her work and life gradually stabilized, but Tasha's health deteriorated day by day. Although Regina loved Tasha, she could only do so much besides earning money for Tasha's medical expenses. Over the years, she had tried her best to make Tasha happy.
As for having a child, Regina found it way too hard. Regina spent the whole day with Tasha in the hospital until 9 p.m.
On Sunday, Douglas was going away on a business trip abroad. The Century Group's business had long been global, and Douglas frequently traveled around the world. This time, he would be away for five days. Despite his busy schedule, he would still contact with her. He would also share his experiences abroad through photos, such as a solo dinner, a beautiful rainbow, or an attractive building. Even when he encountered a golden retriever that resembled Molly on the street, he would take a picture for her.
Regina initially didn't get used to it, but gradually, she started to respond to his messages earnestly.
At 8 p.m., Regina received another message from him. It was a screenshot of his flight information. [My flight is tomorrow morning. Mrs. Semona, I'll be able to see you tomorrow night.]
Regina couldn't help but smile and replied: [Okay, Mr. Semona. Molly and I are waiting for you to come back." She sat on the sofa, took a picture with Molly, and sent it to him.
After Douglas received the photo, his eyes took on a profound meaning.
