Chapter 162 Thank you, Mrs. Semona

The doctor finished speaking all at once and then lowered his head to write a prescription.

After a while, she suddenly realized something was wrong. Why was no one talking?

She looked up again. She saw the two people sitting across from her desk, both looking bewildered.

"Did you...hear what I said?"

Douglas didn't have time to be overjoyed. At this moment, his heart was filled with lingering fear.

With a slight tremor in his voice, he asked with difficulty, "How long has she been pregnant?"

"Around five weeks."

'Five weeks?'

Both of them silently calculated the time in their minds. Wasn't it the night Regina wore that sexy lingerie?

Over days, they've engaged in numerous passionate lovemaking sessions.

Indeed, just thinking about it made them feel a deep sense of fear.

"The first three months of pregnancy are unstable, and special care is needed. This kind of thing should never happen again."

Both of them knew exactly what "this kind of thing" referred to and nodded.

Seeing that they had finally come to their senses, the doctor continued, "Some of the blood test results are not ideal. Stay in the hospital for observation for two days, and come back for an ultrasound at eight weeks to check the development of the gestational sac."

In the hospital room, Regina kept staring at the test results, doubting if there was a mistake.

Douglas, on the other hand, couldn't take his eyes off her, not even for a moment.

He walked to the bedside and sat down. He desired to embrace her closely but refrained, fearing injury to her. This cautiousness made him helplessly curl his lips.

He finally just raised his hand and touched her head. "Regina, we have a baby."

"Yes, we have a baby." Regina's voice was filled with joy, but she couldn't help but tear up a bit.

So much had happened in such a short time.

Melissa's letter was like a rope pulling her into a dark abyss, but the other end of the rope was held tightly by this newborn child.

Her hand fell on her flat belly, gently and lovingly stroking it.

For the rest of her life, she would have a brand new life.

Douglas took a photo of the test report and posted it directly on his private Instagram.

"Thank you, Mrs. Semona."

There was no need to imagine how shocking this would be, like dropping a bomb in a calm, deep sea, causing huge waves.

Sure enough, within seconds of Douglas posting it, his phone was blowing up.

So many people were calling that the line was often busy.

Regina watched Douglas' 'busyness' with joy.

Usually seen as cold and reserved, Douglas now seemed like a melting glacier.

He answered every call.

And he patiently responded and accepted everyone's blessings.

After about an hour or two, his phone finally quieted down.

Regina held her phone and realized she had almost no one to share this with.

Even Miranda had seen Douglas' post early and texted her immediately.

In the evening, Leo brought the whole family over, filling the large hospital room. Regina was almost scared by the crowd.

Douglas frowned discontentedly. "Grandpa, didn't I tell you Regina needs to rest these two days? Why are you so excited?"

Leo felt wronged. "I just wanted to see Regina, who knew..."

Who knew everyone had the same idea!

When Leo's car parked in the hospital's underground parking lot, he found five or six cars already parked there.

Herman, Elizabeth, Nicole, Tom with Nancy, and Douglas' friends.

Charles, Josh, and Michael.

They all came to see Regina.

"I'm fine. No need to worry," Regina quickly said. "Thank you all for your concern and blessings."

The joyful atmosphere was undeniable.

The room was filled with laughter and chatter.

Everyone was planning gifts for the baby's birth.

Leo exaggeratedly said he would give a few houses, and Nancy, not to be outdone, said she would give her castle to the baby.

Watching everyone chat excitedly, Regina silently thought of Tasha.

Before passing, Tasha had also prepared gifts for her future child.

If Tasha were still alive, seeing her being treated so well by so many people, and her child being loved by so many, Tasha would surely be happy, right?

Regina stayed in the hospital for two days, and Douglas stayed with her the whole time.

Douglas' sudden leave of absence left everyone at the company puzzled.

They had only vaguely heard from Dorothy in the president's office that two days ago, Regina had an accident in Douglas' office. He seemed very worried and personally took her to the hospital, and then didn't come to the office for two days.

"Mr. Green." Dorothy hurriedly stopped Jason in her high heels. "Is Ms. Valrose really that seriously injured this time?"

Jason remained silent.

Seeing Jason's silence, Dorothy grew even more curious.

She knew Jason too well; he was always straightforward.

"Mr. Green?"

Jason finally snapped out of it but didn't answer Dorothy's question. He just sternly reminded her, "Don't go around talking about Ms. Valrose getting injured in Mr. Semona's office."

"Oh, okay, I understand."

Jason's serious demeanor made Dorothy immediately shut up.

After Regina was discharged, Douglas was still worried. He wanted her to rest at home, but Regina had consulted the doctor, who said it was nothing serious and she could live normally.

She thought that being in the early stages of pregnancy didn't mean she should lie at home all day. Some work would make her feel more fulfilled physically and mentally.

So, she went back to work.

Despite Jason's advice to Dorothy not to spread the word about what happened in the office, Douglas' two-day leave made everyone aware.

Even Janet couldn't help but ask Regina, "Did you really get injured at work?"

Regina felt very embarrassed.

'Injured at work? Well, if you insist on calling it that, then fine.'

Regina nodded reluctantly.

Fortunately, Janet didn't think much of it. "Are you feeling better now?"

"Much better."

As soon as Regina finished speaking, she heard a low exclamation in the office. Before she could react, a shadow loomed over her desk.

She instinctively looked up and found Douglas standing right in front of her!
