Chapter 18 Honey, Come Home

Regina didn't hesitate to answer. "Alright. I'll be right there."
Since Douglas felt "wronged," Regina didn't dare refuse.
Her route home conveniently passed by the Peace Club, so she arrived within ten minutes.
It was only when she got off that Regina remembered the things she and Philip had experienced here.
Despite the unpleasant memories, Regina wasn't too saddened. After all, she wasn't one to dwell on the past.
Standing at the entrance, Regina didn't immediately rush in.
The Peace Club was an exclusive venue accessible only to billionaires. Membership required social connections, fame, and class.
It never catered to the ordinary.
Regina used to come here with Philip, but things were different now. The security at the entrance had no intention of letting her in. Just as she was about to call Douglas, Regina received a new message. It was a video sent by Philip's assistant, Mars.
Regina calmly turned on the video, revealing scenes of luxury and decadence.
Philip was always at the center of that wealthy crowd.
He casually sat in the center of the sofa, with a young and beautiful girl pouring him a drink.
Soon after, Mars sent another message to Regina. [I'm sorry, Ms. Valrose. I sent that by mistake.]
Regina didn't reply. She thought Mars should be reminding her.
The girl in the video resembled Regina a bit. She saw her younger self in that girl.
People often said Regina looked like Claudia, whom Philip deeply loved but couldn't have. So, Regina thought Mars was probably informing her that Philip had found another woman resembling Claudia.
Regina directly clicked on Mars's avatar and unfollowed him.
Then, Regina carefully checked her follow list to ensure she had unfollowed anyone related to Philip.
Mars' gaze lingered on his phone screen, the silence from Regina's end uncharacteristic. He reminisced, 'Ms. Valrose wasn't always like this. There were nights I'd message her at 2 a.m., and she'd respond without fail. And on occasions when I lost track of time, it was she who escorted Philip back home.'
Philip noticed Mars' restless fingers tapping on his phone and inquired about his preoccupation. Without hesitation, Mars admitted, "I'm trying to reach Ms. Valrose."
A flicker of concern crossed Philip's features as he probed, "Has she gotten back to you?"
"No, I was the one who reached out to her," Mars clarified.
Philip took a sip of his drink and calmly asked, "What did she say?"
"She hasn't replied yet."
Philip reached out, and Mars immediately handed him his phone. Opening the chat history between Mars and Regina, Philip saw the video Mars sent to Regina, but Philip wasn't angry. Mars had been arranged to grow up with Philip since he was young, so Mars understood Philip's true thoughts.
Philip was trying to provoke and threaten Regina to get her back.
Five minutes later. Regina still hadn't replied to Mars.
Philip used Mars's phone to send a message to Regina, [Come to the Peace Club.]
However, Philip couldn't send it successfully because a message appeared, stating that he could only continue chatting with her after Regina replied. This indicated that Regina had unfollowed Mars.
Mars frowned. "She unfollowed me." Philip became indifferent and threw the phone to Mars. Mars nervously grabbed the phone. "Mr. Sterling, what should we do?"
Mars was anxious and thought, 'I might have done something wrong just now.'
Philip's eyelid twitched. He suppressed his anger and said casually, "Am I supposed to beg her to come back after we had argued?" Mars thought, 'Philip has never been obsessed with a woman all these years. He has never humbly begged Ms. Sharp.' 'But Regina is an exception.'
However, Philip was not aware of his true feelings for Regina. Mars had long found it strange already.
He thought, 'Perhaps Philip has started to see Regina as a substitute for Claudia, but Regina is obviously no longer a substitute.'
After waiting downstairs for a while, Douglas sent someone to pick Regina up.
That person took her to Douglas's room. At the door, Regina paused. She remembered Douglas mentioning that he was being ridiculed because others thought Mrs. Semona didn't care about him. She thought, 'Douglas called me here tonight to play along with his act.' 'He wants me to act as a loving couple!' 'But how should I act?' 'My acting skills are not that good, and I don't want to become intimate with his friends to avoid awkward relationships with them in case I divorce him.'
While Regina hesitated, she saw a waiter wearing a black mask pass by her. An idea instantly came to her. The door to the private room was opened. Regina imagined the room would be filled with the smell of smoke and alcohol. Instead, there was a faint fragrance in the air.
Ten minutes ago, Douglas had forced Charles to stop smoking. Charles found it weird at first, but what Douglas said was even stranger.
He said, "My wife will be here soon. She doesn't like the smell of smoke."
Hearing the noise at the door, Charles just rolled his eyes and thought, 'Who is this Mrs. Semona that Douglas spoils so much? She can't even stand the smell of smoke.'
Everyone looked in the direction of the door at that moment. However, they were all shocked when they saw Regina at the door.
Douglas was also stunned at first, but he quickly reacted.
The room was warm, so Regina took off her black coat and handed it to the nearby waiter. Regina was wearing a dark green velvet dress at the moment.
This dress made her look delicate and sexy. Her thick, curly hair cascaded over one shoulder. She looked elegant and noble. Every strand of her hair was beautiful.
As she walked forward, everyone's initial shock turned into fascination. Seeing those people fascinated by Regina, Douglas squinted and became gloomy.
Regina thought, 'Oh no!' 'He seems really unhappy.'
Finally, Regina reached Douglas's side. Regina forced herself to stay calm and began to showcase the acting she had worked hard to learn.
"Honey." Regina deliberately made her voice very gentle and sweet. Her voice was like a feather brushing through everyone's hearts, exciting them.
"It's getting late! Why haven't you finished up at the party yet? Let's go home and get some rest, okay?"
Silence fell over the room.
