Chapter 36 Absurdity
"Hello, Regina," Vitas greeted her warmly, "May I call you that?"
Sandra sensed something amiss, her fists clenched, and she rolled her eyes. Regina's face had always effortlessly drawn attention. As a child, she often felt neglected because of Regina's beauty.
Fortunately, Melissa noticed her unease and favored her more. When Melissa remarried, Sandra was six. Faced with her husband's demand to bring only one child into the marriage, she chose Sandra directly. It wasn't just because Sandra was young; Melissa had a special fondness for her.
"You can call me Regina Valrose." Regina paid no attention to Vitas's deliberate approach.
After speaking, she didn't even look at him again and simply took a seat at an empty spot. During the meal, everyone else was lively, but Regina remained quiet, simply eating her food. While eating, Douglas texted her, asking when she would be done so he could pick her up. He had been busy lately, and Regina didn't want him to bother with such a small matter, so she declined. The restaurant was close to home; she could take a taxi and be back in 10 or 20 minutes.
However, the meal took a long time. In the end, Vitas spoke first. "I'm done. I had a bit too much to drink tonight, and I had a headache. I can't hold on."
Sandra's stepfather, David Greenwood, quickly said, "Let Sandra take you home." David treated Vitas with special kindness. After all, Vitas's father was a big shot in the medical equipment industry, and his uncle was the president of Chitta Bank. Establishing a relationship with Vitas would be a great advantage for the Greenwood group.
Vitas naturally saw through David's intentions. Initially, he looked down on the Valrose family, but he was quite taken with Sandra's sexual skills. They had known each other for three months and played for three months, and he wasn't tired of it. Today, he suddenly wanted to accompany her for a meal, but he didn't expect to meet a woman who piqued his interest.
Vitas occasionally glanced at Regina, and his mind made up. "Sandra had a bit to drink tonight, and her stomach gets upset when she drinks. Let her go back and rest early. I'll call a driver to pick me up."
Sandra only heard Vitas's concern for her in his words and smiled slightly. David also praised Vitas, "Sandra is really lucky to have such a good boyfriend."
Vitas nodded insincerely. Since Vitas still had to wait for the driver, Sandra's family left first. Melissa had intended to send Regina home, but Sandra kept clutching her stomach and complaining of stomach pain. Melissa looked at Regina apologetically and said, "Regina, Sandra might be drunk. I'm afraid she's not feeling well, so I'll take her to the hospital first. Can you go home by yourself?"
During the meal, Melissa observed Regina. Since she hadn't been drinking, she should be fine.
Regina nodded indifferently. "I can go home by myself. You don't have to worry about me." Regina had always been independent, and Melissa trusted her. Before leaving, Melissa insisted on giving Regina a bank card with some money in it to buy a car. Before Regina could speak, Sandra interrupted them coquettishly, "Mom, my stomach suddenly hurts so much, I can't stand it."
"I'll take you to the hospital right away."
Melissa stood in place, still holding the card. Regina didn't take the card, then turned and walked out of the restaurant.
As she stood on the roadside waiting for a taxi, Vitas followed. Vitas stood beside her without a sense of boundaries, his gaze naked and direct. "I'll take you back. My driver will be here soon."
"If my memory serves, you're Sandra's man."
Vitas laughed, "I'm not at the point of marrying Sandra yet. Are you too eager to recognize me as your brother-in-law?"
Who wanted to recognize him as a brother-in-law?
"Do you need me to pass on your words to Sandra?"
Vitas laughed even more. "If you want to say it, do it. I know you and her have had a bad relationship since you were young. It's also something you can be proud of to see her family angry."
Regina had met many shameless people, but Vitas was the most shameless person she had ever seen. He overestimated himself.
"I just want to remind you not to talk nonsense just because you have a problem with your brain." She couldn't believe he had graduated from Norman University; he must have bought his degree certificate.
At the words, Vitas's smile froze, but instantly, his expression returned to normal. "It's a shame to use such a soft mouth to curse. Can you lick?" Vitas raised his hand, wanting to touch Regina's lips, but she quickly avoided him.
"Vitas, don't touch me, or I'll call the police."
"You're so childish! Do you have to call the police if I touch you?" Vitas had a drink, not drunk, but the alcohol gave him a strong impulse, and he became more presumptuous. "Do you want me to have sex with you before you call the police? The evidence will be more substantial."
Regina stood there without moving. They were on the street. She would leave as soon as she caught a taxi, so there was no need to waste time with him. Just as a taxi was approaching in the distance, Regina was about to hail it, but Vitas rudely pressed her back.
Then, a blue Porsche stopped in front of them. Vitas grabbed Regina's arm and threw her directly into the back seat of the car, and then he got in, too. The car sped away. Regina didn't expect Vitas to do such a ridiculous thing in public!
"Since I'm your brother-in-law, it's okay for me to play with you. You're not that petty, are you, sister?" He deliberately sounded licentious.
Regina instinctively picked up her phone, but Vitas immediately snatched it and threw it onto the back seat.
"Are you crazy?"
"Yes, I want to go crazy with my sister."
Regina felt disgusted just listening to his voice. The driver drove straight to the hotel as per Vitas's instructions.
However, not long after the driver started, he suddenly noticed something unusual. "Mr. Johnson, it seems like there's a car following us from behind."
"What kind of car?"
The driver took a look through the rearview mirror, and it was a black Bugatti Veyron.
Vitas didn't believe it. "Are you sure?"
Why would that car be following them? The driver wasn't sure, so he drove cautiously for a while and found that the car was always following them whatever.
