Chapter 95 Is Mrs. Semona still angry

Douglas drank quite a bit, and it was Jason who drove to Peace Club to pick him up.

In the middle of the night, the rain was pouring down, pounding on the car windows. Jason glanced at Douglas through the rearview mirror, who was resting with his eyes closed against the car seat, and cautiously asked, "Mr. Semona, where to tonight?"

Douglas had several residences in Oriant City, but the place he most wanted to go to was out of reach.

Jason asked, "Mr. Semona, is Mrs. Semona still angry?"

Douglas didn't bother to respond to such a question and simply said, "Take me to Springfield Road."

The residence on Springfield Road was the closest to where Regina lived.

Jason didn't ask any more questions.

After a while, Douglas suddenly opened his eyes, took out his phone, and casually opened a social media app.

Those news articles were still in the most prominent positions.

In this age of rapid information dissemination, even the most hidden details could easily be dug up and magnified for everyone to see.

In the private room, in front of Charles, Douglas had only glanced at them briefly before looking away.

Charles thought that perhaps Douglas found them annoying and distressing, which explained why he didn't look at them.

In reality, no one knew that Douglas didn't dare to look closely in front of others, fearing he couldn't maintain his composure and would become a laughingstock.

Some photos of Philip and Regina circulated online, and sometimes a single photo told a whole story.

Douglas casually clicked on one. It was a photo taken during Regina's senior year graduation ceremony.

She was wearing a cap and gown, holding a bouquet of fiery red roses, and standing next to Philip, who was dressed in a suit. They were looking at each other affectionately.

On her graduation day, Philip had specifically taken time off work to be with her.

He had dressed up just for this important moment in her life.

Douglas's eyes were cold and piercing as he stared at the photo for a long time, his mind filled with thoughts.

Without showing any emotion, he clicked on another photo.

It was a picture of Philip and Regina skiing in the mountains.

There were also photos of them watching the sunrise and sunset by the sea.

They had indeed had their fair share of fights, but they also had some beautiful memories.

In fact, this wasn't Philip's first "provocation."

He had done something similar at a previous banquet.

He had played recording after recording, all proof of Regina's love for Philip.

But somehow, every time these same vile and lowly tactics still managed to distract Douglas, tempting him to accidentally fall into Philip's trap.

If he could still maintain his composure in front of Philip in the past, this time, because of the Seasons Hotel incident, Douglas's confidence was shaken.

The atmosphere in the car was extremely oppressive.

Douglas scrutinized every detail of those photos.

He tried to appear calm and fearless on the surface, but his heart was truly aching.

Douglas closed his eyes for a moment, and when he picked up his phone to look at the news again, he found that all the news had disappeared.

He paused for a few seconds and called Charles, "Did you take down the news?"

Hearing this, Charles was also a bit surprised. "Did it work that quickly? I just made the call two minutes ago."

Charles had thought it would be better if Douglas didn't see those news articles.

Even though Douglas had said not to bother with the news, Charles had taken it upon himself to deal with them after Douglas left Peace Club.

Douglas assumed it was Charles who had taken down the news and didn't say much.

About half an hour later, Jason drove into the villa area on Springfield Road.

The large villa was very cold and empty.

Douglas took a shower and lay on the bed, but he suffered from the usual insomnia.

He hadn't had a full night's sleep in a long time.

Privately, he wasn't in great shape, but once he got to the office and sat in his chair, he was still the decisive and ruthless Douglas.

Miranda had a vague sense that something was wrong.

She called Regina. "Regina, did you see yesterday's news?"

Miranda was a heavy internet user and was always the first to notice anything online. Regina didn't need to think to know what news she was referring to.

"Yeah, I saw it," Regina replied nonchalantly.

She had spent millions of dollars to get those things taken down.

To be precise, she had spent millions of Douglas's dollars.

Thinking about it, Regina felt a bit pained by the money.

Miranda pulled up the photos she had saved while reading the news. "Is the heroine of this story you?"

The photos Philip had released didn't show any faces, only backs and profiles. Even if there were frontal shots, the woman's face was pixelated.

She could tell that he had done this just for Douglas and Regina to see; as long as they knew, it was enough.

Miranda thought the figures in the photos all looked like Regina.

Regina had already lied to Miranda once about her and Douglas, and this time she didn't want to make any more excuses, so she simply admitted, "Yes, it's me."

Miranda wasn't too surprised.

After all, she had already come to terms with the shocking news of Regina marrying Douglas, so what else couldn't she accept?

Moreover, Miranda knew that Philip and Regina had dated in the past.

When they met, Regina was still a sophomore.

When Philip first started pursuing her, it was grand and extravagant. He would park his million-dollar, even ten-million-dollar sports car outside the dormitory, and everyone knew he was after Regina.

But during the time they were dating, Miranda didn't know Philip's true identity. In fact, at first, she just thought he was a rich man's son.

Miranda could tell that Regina wasn't in a good mood. Despite her many questions, she didn't press further at this moment. She tentatively asked, "Do you want to grab dinner together after work?"

Regina nodded. "Sure."

Lately, her home had been very quiet. Regina used to enjoy solitude, but now she found the atmosphere a bit strange and uncomfortable.

The two of them decided to go to a barbecue restaurant.

The restaurant had a camping-themed decor, perfect for taking photos. Miranda loved documenting her life through photos and frequently updated her Instagram and Twitter.

Before they even finished their barbecue, she had already edited a vlog and posted it on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

Regina appeared in the video.

Despite not being in the best mood, she cooperated fully with Miranda's filming.

Miranda thought Regina looked like an angel when she smiled at the camera.

Halfway through the meal, Miranda felt a bit full and decided to take a break, planning to eat more later.

But as she looked at her phone, she suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

Regina looked at Miranda with concern. "What's wrong?"

"Mr. Semona liked my post!"
