Chapter 47 The Homewrecker

Mars noticed the ongoing silence on the other end of the phone, unable to discern her thoughts. Just as he was about to say something tentatively, he heard Regina's calm voice. "He must be out of his mind."
Her words took aback Mars.
"Instead of calling me, you should make an appointment with a psychologist for him."
"Ms. Valrose..."
"I've heard enough about their story. You promised me you wouldn't call me again." Her attitude remained indifferent. Since she no longer loved Philip, she would not turn back.
Mars thought Philip must not know that his words could shatter six years of love. If he hadn't said those things, would Regina still have feelings for him and try to maintain the image of someone who deeply loved him? Mars could see that Philip's feelings for Regina had already undergone a fundamental change, but he had not realized it yet. He didn't want to see Philip lose everything, so he told Regina about Claudia without Philip's knowledge.
Regina didn't understand why Mars thought that she would forgive Philip after hearing such a story. "Mr. Sterling is actually quite pitiful. His family has always pressured him, and in recent years, it has become even more unbearable for him."
"Enough, Mars," Regina interrupted him. "I'm not a psychologist, and I can't cure his illness. Or, in the past six years, I have also tried to heal everything, but it seems that his condition has only worsened."
Regina's calmness from start to finish forced Mars to give up. "I'm sorry to have bothered you." After hesitating for a while, he finally hung up the phone.
Regina put away her phone and returned to the ward. She sent a message to Douglas, saying that she wanted to stay at the hospital tonight and wouldn't go home.
Douglas, who was still at work, glanced at the message and quickly replied.
After work, Douglas didn't have the driver take the car back home; he was instructed to drive directly to the hospital. On the way, Jason called Douglas: "Mr. Semona, something happened at the hospital."
Douglas asked calmly, "What happened?"
"Philip went to the hospital to find Ms. Valrose." Jason thought for a moment and added, "He didn't go to the hospital on purpose. He drank too much at the Peace Club last night and had a stomach bleed, so he was taken to the hospital. Today, Ms. Valrose came to the hospital to accompany Tasha, and he probably paid attention to Ms. Valrose's whereabouts, so he went to Tasha's ward to block Ms. Valrose."
Jason was ready to rush out at any moment. "Mr. Semona, what should I do now? Should I drive him away?"
Douglas narrowed his eyes, leaned back in his chair, and said, "No need. Protect Regina's safety, and don't let him get close to Regina. Let Regina handle the rest on her own."
Jason, who had always been quick to react, was stunned for a moment. By the time he responded, Douglas had already hung up the phone.
"Turn around," Douglas said to the driver, Paul.
Paul felt a bit puzzled. "Mr. Semona, aren't we going to Mrs. Semona's place?"
"No."
So Why?
Paul couldn't figure it out, but he still followed Douglas's instructions.
Meanwhile, Regina and Philip, who was wearing a hospital gown, were having a standoff in the corridor outside the hospital room.
"Is Tasha inside?"
Regina blocked the door, looking at him warily. "What do you want?"
Philip's face was tense, but he sounded like he was kindly reminding her. "Didn't you say that she's not feeling well and wants me to see her?"
Regina lifted her head, staring motionlessly at Philip. She found it somewhat unbelievable and a bit amusing.
"That sentence expired that night," she said, her voice calm. "Please leave, or I'll call security."
Actually, compared to her current aloof and polite demeanor, Philip would rather see her in despair or even wish she would argue with him. But Philip also understood that she would never breakdown or shout in the face of adversity. She was always calm and even too lazy to argue with anyone.
At this moment, Regina stood just two steps away from him, but she no longer cared about him, even if he spent his whole life trying to get close to her again. For some reason, a voice suddenly echoed in Philip's mind, with dirty and vulgar content but with a faint excitement that oppressed his nerves. 'Maybe it's because your approach is wrong. You need to add some excitement. The last companion I found, she looked cold and arrogant, but I put something in her drink, and she became very obedient to me, and we had an unforgettable night together.'
Philip thought about it and couldn't help but regret it. They had been together for six years, but they had never had a physical relationship. He suddenly smiled, a faint smile, but it inexplicably made Regina feel uncomfortable. Regina found it strange.
What was he thinking?
Just as they were at a deadlock, Mars arrived. He didn't expect Philip to show up in such a battered state. Remembering the phone call he had with Regina not long ago, he must have known that Regina wouldn't be soft-hearted.
"Mr. Sterling," Mars whispered in his ear, but Regina heard it clearly. "Ms. Parker is here." Mars was referring to Juliet Brook. She was the woman Philip's parents had chosen for him. She was also the young lady he had mentioned, the one who was suitable for an arranged marriage and matched him in every way. Regina turned around expressionlessly and walked into the room, closing and locking the door from the inside.
Meanwhile, on the other side, after Douglas turned around on his way to the hospital, he appeared at the Peace Club.
Charles was really frustrated. Douglas hadn't lost a single game at the card table tonight, but he didn't show any signs of victory, instead looking unusually indifferent, as if he were angry.
"Douglas, what's wrong? Do you have something on your mind tonight?" Charles asked casually, taking the cigarette out of his mouth.
Douglas didn't say anything, and after a while, his phone, which had been placed beside him, started vibrating. He picked it up and looked at it. It was a call from Jason. He answered the phone and put it to his ear.
Jason immediately reported the situation, "Mr. Semona, Philip seems to have gone to make up with Ms. Valrose. I was a bit far away, so I didn't hear what they said."
Douglas hadn't spoken yet when Charles, who was next to him, suddenly heard Philip's name and became interested.
"Philip? Douglas, have you been secretly keeping an eye on Philip's whereabouts?" Charles raised an eyebrow. "Yesterday, I heard that he had a stomach bleeding from drinking at the Peace Club and was taken to the hospital, probably for his partner." Charles sighed, "I've seen his partner at the Peace Club before. She's very beautiful and sexy, and she's been with him for many years. "
"By the way, I heard that they have been having conflicts recently, and his partner seems to have found a new love."
Philip once went to the Century Group to block Regina. At that time, in order to get away from him, Regina told him that she already had someone she liked and was in a relationship with. These rumors suddenly spread, but Philip would not spread such embarrassing things.
Charles, who knew nothing about the inside story, shook his head. "Philip's partner loved him for six years. I didn't expect her to fall in love with someone else suddenly. The homewrecker who intervened in their relationship seems to be quite capable."
Intervene?
Homewrecker?
Douglas sneered. "Why are you so insightful?"
His words took Charles aback.
