Chapter 148 Intimacy Product
Douglas wore a ring that wasn't flashy, but its lines were simple and smooth, exuding an air of elegance and stability.
No one knew that he had Regina's name engraved on the inside of the ring.
After work, Miranda met Regina for dinner. With an exaggerated expression, she said, "You have no idea, the whole company's focus today was on the rings you and Mr. Semona were wearing. Discussions about billion-dollar orders were secondary to your rings."
'But seriously, with so many people in the company, how has no one connected the dots about you two being married?'
Miranda was quite anxious and felt frustrated with her colleagues.
Regina chuckled lightly to cover her embarrassment and quietly poured Miranda a glass of juice.
Suddenly, Miranda lowered her voice and asked Regina, "Regina, how are things going with Mr. Semona lately?"
"Pretty good."
"Um... Have you used the lingerie yet?"
Regina was caught off guard by Miranda's sudden question and choked a bit. She tried to stay calm and said, "No."
Miranda had only mentioned it on a whim.
Seeing that Regina seemed uncomfortable with the topic, Miranda immediately shut her mouth.
But just as she was about to focus on her meal, she heard Regina quietly ask, "How do you buy lingerie?"
Miranda was momentarily confused and didn't realize what Regina was asking about at first.
When she did, she gave a knowing smile. "You're asking the right person. I'll help you look for some later."
In public, the two didn't continue discussing such an inappropriate topic.
In the following days, Miranda didn't bring it up again.
Regina thought the matter had blown over.
But a week later, Regina received a call from the delivery company, saying she had several packages and asking if she could sign for them.
At that moment, Regina was sitting in the passenger seat of Douglas' car. They had just finished work and were on their way home, stuck in rush-hour traffic with about an hour to go.
Regina told the delivery person to have the housekeeper sign for them.
Recently, Regina and Douglas had been living in a standalone house on Springfield Road. Because of its large size, it required several people to clean it daily, so Douglas hired a few housekeepers.
Douglas glanced at her curiously. "What did you buy?"
Regina wasn't much of an online shopper.
But she had indeed bought some things online a few days ago.
"Maybe it's the stuff I bought for Molly?" As she spoke, Regina checked her shopping orders on her phone, and sure enough, several packages had been delivered.
Hearing that Regina had bought things for the dog, Douglas raised an eyebrow and asked, "What did you buy?"
"Some canned food it likes, toys, and other miscellaneous things."
Douglas raised an eyebrow slightly and said, "It seems you care a lot about that dog."
She had always cared about Molly; he should have known by now.
But then Regina thought, 'Wait, his tone seems off. Could he be jealous of Molly?'
Realizing this, Regina felt a bit anxious.
When they got home, she quietly walked to the hall filled with packages, trying to keep a low profile. She took out a small knife and started opening the packages.
Molly seemed to know the packages were for it, sitting next to Regina, wagging its tail excitedly.
Regina opened the packages one by one.
Douglas, sitting on the sofa, occasionally glanced over. Since she had been paying attention to his mood since they left work, Regina easily noticed his subtle changes.
After opening four packages, Regina found the fifth one a bit strange.
It was a delicately wrapped red gift box. Not a gaudy red, but a seductive, mysterious red.
Regina looked at the gift box, trying to remember what she had bought.
Surely, this fancy box didn't contain dog food, right?
She curiously untied the red ribbon and opened the box. Inside was a piece of sheer black fabric.
Regina stared at the fabric for a few seconds before realizing what it was, her ears turning red instantly.
She reflexively closed the box and quickly took out her phone to message Miranda, only to find that Miranda had already sent her a message ten minutes ago, which she hadn't noticed.
Miranda asked: [Regina, did you receive the sexy lingerie?]
Regina took a deep breath, feeling the heat spread from her ears to her entire body.
At that moment, holding the box felt like holding a hot potato, not knowing what to do with it.
Douglas immediately sensed her anxious state.
He glanced at her, then at the box in her hand, and asked, "What's wrong?"
Regina's mind was filled with the words "sexy lingerie."
She told herself there was nothing shameful about it.
They were married.
Using some "intimacy products" was perfectly normal.
Thinking this, Regina stood up from the carpet, walked over to him, and handed him the box.
Under Douglas' puzzled gaze, Regina said with a stiff expression, "This is a gift for you."
'A gift? From the pile of packages for the dog, a gift for me suddenly appeared?'
Regina didn't wait for Douglas to respond and quickly went upstairs.
Douglas stared at the red box for a while, wondering what kind of gift she had prepared for him that required such a color.
He slowly opened the box.
Seeing the sheer black fabric, he didn't immediately realize what it was. He took it all out.
Then, the light, the barely-there fabric fell into Douglas' hand.
He was completely stunned.
After going upstairs, Regina didn't know what to do, so she took a shower.
She dawdled in the bathroom for over an hour.
When she finally came out, she saw Douglas sitting on the bed waiting for her.
He was wearing a black bathrobe, leaning against the headboard, looking like he had also showered and had been waiting for her for a long time.
