Chapter 37 Bullying

Being followed made him uneasy, especially since he was up to no good.
Vitas felt a sense of impending trouble surge within Him, prompting him to urge the driver, "Lose him!"
The driver accelerated, weaving through traffic, but the pursuing car remained relentless. Regina sensed that something was amiss. Douglas owned several cars, and Regina hadn't seen them all, but the one he drove last weekend to watch fireworks with her seemed to be this Bugatti Veyron.
This realization eased Regina's initial unease. She sat in the car, calm and composed, not struggling or showing any signs of nervousness, which infuriated Vitas.
"Avoid the city and head for the coastal road. Let's see who dares to lay a hand on me," he commanded.
The coastal road was deserted at this late hour. Vitas made a call and gathered a dozen people. Once they left the bustling city streets and entered the coastal road, the cars sped up. Regina watched the blurred scenery outside the window, her worry resurfacing. She knew Douglas was behind them, but she couldn't convey the danger ahead. Regina was afraid that he would be at a disadvantage.
She glanced at Vitas, who was consumed by the thrill of the race, and suddenly asked, "Do you know who owns the Bugatti Veyron behind us?"
Vitas, observing her calm demeanor, sneered, "What? Do you know?"
"Of course I do." In fact, Douglas's driving skills were more than a match for Vitas's, but a collision would put the occupants at risk. Douglas was concerned about Regina's safety, so he maintained a safe distance and didn't attempt to intercept or force Vitas's car to stop.
"The owner of that car is Douglas Semona."
"Douglas Semona?" Vitas was frozen a moment.
But he quickly regained his composure and chuckled disdainfully. "Sis, are you trying to scare me again? Why would Douglas chase my car?" He didn't know Douglas at all. Of course, it was because of his low status; he was no match for Douglas.
"If you don't believe me, stop and see for yourself."
"Then why is he chasing my car?"
"Because..." Regina paused, realizing that he probably wouldn't believe her if she told the truth. So, she had to come up with a fabricated reason. "Because he's either really bored, or he wants to catch up with you and befriend you."
Vitas was speechless. The car had been following them obediently, maintaining a safe distance. So why did Douglas do this? Vitas became increasingly curious.
He instructed the driver, "Pull over." The driver complied and was quickly pulled over by the guardrail of the coastal road. Sure enough, the Bugatti Veyron also came to a stop.
Regina couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Vitas got out of the car and saw a man getting out of the car behind him. He was wearing glasses and casual home clothes, and the loose white sweater did not conceal his well-built figure. He had an elegant and refined appearance, and no one would have thought that he had just been racing on the coastal road.
It was late, and the dim light of the street lamps made the whole area look particularly gloomy. As he approached slowly, Vitas finally saw his face. It really seemed to be Douglas! The Semona family had always been low-key, and Douglas had rarely appeared in public over the years.
But recently, his appointment as the CEO of Century Group had allowed people to find one or two photos of his face on the internet.
Vitas was secretly excited. "Mr. Semona?" But before he could get too excited, he saw another man getting out of the passenger seat of the Bugatti Veyron. Regina recognized him as Douglas's assistant, Jason Green. Douglas had several assistants, but Regina had the deepest impression of Jason. Unlike the other assistants, who dressed in suits and looked like social elites, Jason was tall and had muscular arms. He had many tattoos on his arms and neck. He seemed particularly intimidating when he had no expression.
At this moment, Jason was holding a dagger and approaching Vitas and Regina. Douglas's coldness made Regina very afraid. At that moment, his cruelty and hostility gave Regina a completely unfamiliar feeling. Vitas looked at the knife and immediately sensed that something was wrong. Who brings a knife to make friends?
"Mr. Semona, there must be some misunderstanding. I haven't done anything to harm your interests, have I? Why are you holding a knife?"
Douglas sneered. "You stole all my lady. Do you call that a misunderstanding? Didn't it harm my interests?"
Regina is Douglas's woman? So, she is his mistress? After thinking about it, Vitas widened his eyes and looked at Regina in disbelief.
"Mr. Semona, Regina is my girlfriend's sister. I just hang out with her, that's all. You really misunderstood." After speaking, he threatened Regina in a voice that only the two of them could hear, "You quickly help me explain. You are just his mistress. Once he loses interest in you, he will abandon you. Without him as your support, if anything happens to me, I won't let you go!"
Douglas sneered, then lit a cigarette, slowly exhaled a puff of smoke, and said, "Am I too kind-hearted?" Why are they all after his lady, bullying his lady?
Sensing Douglas's displeasure, Jason grabbed the dagger and was about to walk towards Vitas. But when he passed by Douglas, he was stopped by him.
"I'll handle this." Jason was frozen. It had been a long time since Douglas had personally taken action.
Vitas, seeing the situation in front of him, understood what was happening, even if he was stupid. "No, Mr. Semona, listen to me."
Jason suddenly kicked Vitas's knee, causing him to kneel on the ground. Douglas grabbed Vitas's collar with one hand, took the cigarette butt out of his mouth with the other hand, and pressed it directly into Vitas's eye!
"Ahhhhhh!" A scream echoed on the deserted coastal road.
Regina couldn't believe what she was seeing, completely stunned. Her mind was blank as if she couldn't think at all.
Douglas glanced at Regina and frowned slightly. He thought, 'I lost control for a moment, and I scared her, didn't I?'
