Chapter 710 Mr. Olteran Says He Is Afraid of His Wife

Vincent thought the car Molly bought for Teddy was a waste. "Teddy doesn't need a car. We can just carry him when we go out."

But, as it turned out, Teddy loved the car Molly got him. As soon as he lay down in it, he started babbling happily, reaching up to play with the little fish hanging above him.

When he sat up, he would slap the little table in front of him, and music would start playing. Teddy was completely in love with his new ride!

If they picked him up, he would cry. But put him back in the car, and he was all smiles.

Shawn was so frustrated that he called Molly at work. "Why'd you spend so much on this car for Teddy? Now he doesn't even want me to hold him."

Molly was with Ellie at the time. "Mom, Dad's complaining about me again."

Ellie said, "If he's complaining, just let him vent."

Annoyed by Shawn's scolding, Molly bought Teddy an even more entertaining pinwheel the next day and attached it to his car. With the slightest movement, it would spin.

Teddy was completely captivated by it. Shawn tried to get his attention, but Teddy wouldn't even look at him.

Pointing at Teddy's favorite pinwheel, Shawn said, "Molly did this on purpose! She definitely did it on purpose!"

Sebastian received another furious call from Shawn. "Sebastian, can't you do something about her?"

Sebastian replied, "I'll handle it when I get home tonight."

Later, Vera saw Teddy at the Olteran Manor, which made Shawn even more upset. She decided to take Teddy back to Cherry Villa to calm him down.

But Shawn was the first to object, insisting on holding Teddy and taking him out to visit friends all day.

As a result, Teddy quickly became a favorite among the Roberts family. When they first arrived, the Roberts' living room was filled with Teddy's cries, and the three elders tried to soothe him, but Teddy only wanted Shawn to hold him.

After a while, though, Teddy got used to Mr. Roberts holding him and didn't seem to mind at all.

The Roberts family soon didn't want Teddy to leave. "Shawn, you already have Vera at home. Why don't you leave Teddy with us? We'll take care of him."

Shawn replied, "No way! Vera is at school all day, and Teddy is the only one keeping me company."

Every time Shawn and Teddy left the Roberts Manor, there was a bit of a struggle. Teddy, drooling and smiling adorably, had no idea they were fighting over him.

This meant Vera and Patrick had to go to the Roberts Manor every day to pick them up.

Every time Teddy saw Vera and Patrick, he would kick his little legs excitedly.

Recently, everyone had been paying attention to Randall's marriage, all because of a trending topic.

The butterfly effect started when an Olteran Group employee commented, "Mr. Olteran is holding a baby, and Randall is hosting the meeting." This small remark caused a stir in the business world, drawing many eyes to Randall.

Everyone knew that a man in Patrick's position wouldn't neglect to groom a successor. Previously, the only potential heir in the Olteran family was his nephew. Given the internal employee's comment, many believed Randall would be the new guiding star for the Olteran family.

Even if he didn't inherit the Olteran Group, anyone Patrick had groomed as a successor wouldn't be an ordinary person.

Businesspeople who could engage with Patrick weren't simple or short-sighted.

Some even brought their daughters to the Olteran Group, ostensibly to discuss business with Patrick, but their real goal was to create opportunities for their daughters to meet Randall.

Patrick was well aware of their intentions.

"Ollie, if you bring your daughter here, my wife will never forgive me," Patrick said with a smile. "Vera has set a rule: no female guests in the office. If I break it, I'll be sleeping in the study tonight."

Ollie laughed. "Mr. Olteran, with your status, how could you be controlled by the women at home?"

Patrick's smile deepened, but his eyes grew colder. "I'm afraid of my wife."

Ollie's smile became awkward. "To avoid causing you trouble, I'll come alone next time." By saying "next time," he implied that his daughter would stay this time to create a chance to meet Randall.

Patrick, understanding their true intentions, smoothly replied, "Vera will be out of school soon. She comes to my office every day after school. If you meet her, I won't be able to explain."

Ollie's daughter was puzzled. "Out of school? Vincent, is your wife a student too?"

Patrick nodded. "She's in college."

Soon, the sound of intermittent crying came from Patrick's lounge, surprising Ollie. "What's that?"

"Sorry, my son is with me today. He was napping in the lounge."

Patrick opened the bedroom door and picked up the crying Teddy, holding him lovingly.

It was a hot day, and Teddy was wearing a thin onesie, making his chubby body even more noticeable.

Teddy, a chubby little bundle, grabbed Patrick's shirt buttons, his tears soaking Patrick's shirt. He cried for a while before calming down.

"Vincent, can I hold the baby?" Ollie's daughter eagerly reached out.

Patrick replied, "He's very fussy. Besides me and his mom, he gets upset if anyone else holds him."

Just as Patrick was about to politely ask them to leave, the door to the CEO's office burst open without a knock.

A girl entered, her cheeks flushed from running, a light sheen of sweat on her temples, and a textbook in her hand. As soon as she appeared, her eyes locked onto Teddy.

Teddy, lying on Patrick's shoulder, saw Vera and immediately made excited noises.

Vera walked in. "Oh, we have guests."

She placed her book on the table and went over to pick up the chubby Teddy. In Vera's arms, Teddy was so excited that his little body wriggled.

Patrick stood up, using Vera's arrival as an excuse. "Ollie, let's reschedule. My 'inspector' is here."

Vera, catching on to Patrick's hint, played along. "Teddy, tell me what your dad did today?" She seemed to be asking the chubby Teddy in her arms, but her words were meant for everyone to hear.

Ollie and his daughter stood up. "Mr. Olteran, let's discuss this another time. Sorry for the trouble today. I'll make it up to you next time."

"Let's go."

Vera smiled. "Patrick sure is popular. Molly would be so jealous if she knew."

Since Vera's arrival, Patrick's smile had only deepened, his eyes full of affection. Even if Vera was giving him a hard time, he didn't mind at all. He said to Ollie and his daughter, "My wife has this temper, and my son takes after her."
