Chapter 819 The Purpose of the Olteran Family
                    Sebastian quickly dialed Molly's number.
Molly was in the middle of eating and ignored the call, her phone on silent. "You're not here to close the case, are you?"
"Close the case? What case?" Scott was confused.
Molly looked surprised and brought up an old incident. "Remember when my little darling cried so much you ended up at the police station, and they thought you were a kidnapper? Didn't they record that case?"
Scott glanced at the familiar stranger across from him and reminded her, "Keep your voice down." He still had some pride. "Wait, how do you even know about that?"
Molly, munching on her chicken, replied, "Everyone in my family knows about it."
Scott watched Molly enjoy her meal and asked, "Who leaked my information?"
Molly shrugged, "I did."
Scott was taken aback, thinking he had misheard. After a moment, he realized she was serious. "Molly, how can you say that so casually right in front of me without even blushing? I'm treating you to dinner here."
Molly, now full, wiped her mouth and said, "Well, you four guys took a kid to the police station. How could you even do that?"
"That's not the point..."
Molly decided it was time to get serious. "Scott, since you're treating me to dinner, here's a friendly reminder. The Olteran family motto: 'Don't mess with Vera, don't argue with me, and don't eat in front of Teddy.' Remember that!"
Scott had heard bits and pieces about the Olteran family and their antics.
"What were you doing at the station earlier? Why did you come out with me?" Scott asked.
Molly replied, "Everyone knows why I go to the station."
Scott was puzzled. "Can you stop being like Patrick? Just answer the question without mocking me." He could guess she went to see Sebastian.
Molly shot back, "Then can you be more like Patrick and not ask obvious questions?"
Scott gave up, "Fine, let's not argue. You're making my head spin."
After a few more exchanges, they got more comfortable with each other. Molly asked directly, "So, why are you here?"
Scott answered, "Checking on my godson."
"He might visit the station often, but he doesn't live there. Be straightforward. I went to argue with Sebastian, and it might lead to a divorce. What about you?"
"Divorce? Didn't you just get married?" Scott was shocked.
Molly was nonchalant, "People can divorce after a day. I've been married for months."
Scott was curious, "Why? Even though I'm not fond of Sebastian, I'm curious."
"I suspect his feelings aren't genuine. I'm his wife, but he has someone else in his heart."
Scott immediately wondered who this "someone else" was. He probed, "Do you have any evidence?"
"No, but I've met his ex."
"What do you think their relationship is like?" Scott's reaction was calm.
Molly, still chatting, said, "She's pretty, that's for sure."
Scott nodded in agreement, "Not bad."
Molly ignored Scott's reaction, thinking he wouldn't just agree with her if they weren't acquainted.
"I haven't seen anything suspicious between them. Maybe because Sebastian is responsible, so it looks like a professional relationship."
Scott nodded, "Yeah, that makes sense. Since Sebastian's married, she probably wouldn't try to mess up your family."
Scott hid his true feelings and advised Molly, "Molly, listen to me. Even though I don't like Sebastian, he's a good guy. He saved you, fell in love with you, and married you. You should cherish your relationship."
Molly felt something was off, but her phone's missed calls quickly grabbed her attention.
Sebastian had called her seven or eight times.
Realizing it might be urgent, Molly quickly called back, "Hey, Sebastian, what's up?"
"Who did you leave with today? Where are you now? Send me your location. I'll come to you." Sebastian's voice was frantic, his tone high-pitched. "I almost had my colleagues track your phone. I thought you were missing."
Molly bit her tongue, "Don't worry. I ran into a friend and we're having lunch. Don't come over. I'll head to the station soon."
"Who is he?"
"He said his name is Scott."
"Scott?" Sebastian repeated the name in the car.
In the back seat, Marigold, who had been resting, suddenly opened her eyes.
"Don't come to the station this afternoon. I'm busy and won't be there. Come home early tonight. I'll try to get back early too."
Sebastian, still worried, added from the passenger seat, "Molly, don't take any detours. Share your location with me so I can see you get back to the office."
Molly sighed, "I took the day off."
"Then go home and catch up on sleep. How late were you up waiting for me last night, only to fall asleep on the couch?"
Molly stuck out her tongue, "You're annoying. I'm hanging up."
After ending the call, Molly complained to Scott, "Did you hear that? He's still criticizing me without any guilt."
The next second, Sebastian's location-sharing request popped up.
Molly sighed, "I've lost my freedom."
But she still obediently accepted the request.
Feeling sleepy after the meal, Molly headed back to the Chase family home to rest.
Scott's phone buzzed with a message: Why are you meeting Molly? Keep your mouth shut about things you shouldn't say. Consider this a warning.
Scott put his phone away without replying. He returned to his hotel, waiting for his godson to finish playing and come home for a massage.
At the village entrance, Sebastian dropped off Ernest and Marigold, then had his subordinate drive to the factory surrounded by police.
Marigold took the opportunity to dial the number from earlier. After a few rings, no one answered.
Ernest asked, "Who are you calling?"
"Telemarketer."
Ernest laughed, "Who calls a telemarketer back?"
He walked ahead while Marigold followed slowly. On the third call, Scott answered. "You finally have time to call me back?"
Marigold slowed her pace and spoke softly, "Scott, whatever's between us has nothing to do with Sebastian and Molly. Don't forget, Molly is your brother's sister."
Scott looked at himself in the bathroom mirror and chuckled, "Then why don't you come over and teach me about morals?"
Marigold hung up, and a few seconds later, she received Scott's hotel information.
She quickly caught up with Ernest.
