Chapter 798 Whose House Did Teddy Go To

Teddy was crying after Molly scolded him, reaching out to Vera for comfort.

Patrick, who was driving, said firmly, "Don't let him go to Vera. He shouldn't sleep with Vera tonight either."

When they got home, the family noticed Vera's hand. Shawn, leaning on his cane, asked, "What happened to Vera's hand?"

Molly replied, "She's been taking care of our chubby grandson every day, and now she's got tendonitis from all the hard work."

"Dad, it's okay. I just need to wear a brace for a while, and it'll get better."

Shawn looked at her with concern, "That must hurt. Why didn't you say something earlier?"

Shawn then turned to Teddy, pinching his cheek, "From now on, you'll sleep with Grandpa."

Cindy chimed in, "He can sleep with me and Vincent. Vincent has always liked Teddy."

Soon, Sebastian joined in.

Another contender for Teddy's company.

The whole family knew about Vera's hand injury, and that night, they gathered in the living room like it was a meeting. Teddy, sitting at the table, was "criticized" by everyone. Then, the family started a competition to see who would get to take care of Teddy!

Vincent said, "Dad, Teddy is too heavy. You're getting old; you can't carry him."

Shawn retorted, "When Teddy used to sleep with me, none of you said I was too old to carry him. Now that you know Teddy will be sleeping with us, do you all want to take him from me? Dream on!"

Molly reached out and hugged Teddy's waist, "That was then, this is now. Father, daughters are born to ease their father's worries. Let me take care of Teddy. You can sleep peacefully tonight. Vincent shouldn't take him either. Dad, you are getting old, and Vincent and Cindy aren't young either. Cindy works hard for this family every day and has gotten so thin. Let me handle this tough job."

Cindy protested, "Molly, I don't find it hard."

Molly hit Cindy's weak spot, "Cindy, you need your beauty sleep. You don't want to be outshone by Sadie at Randall's wedding, do you?"

Cindy was speechless.

Vincent said, "Cindy might worry about her sleep, but I don't care about looks or who's handsome."

"At your age, looks don't matter, but Vincent, you need to stay healthy. You'll have to take care of Randall's kids someday. If Teddy wears you out now, what will you do then?"

Vincent replied, "We'll deal with Randall's kids when the time comes."

Shawn added, "I don't need my daughter to ease my worries. If you stay out of my sight and stop annoying me, I'll live longer."

Molly suddenly had a moment of conscience, "Dad, I haven't been a good daughter. I feel guilty about all the times I upset you. Let Teddy punish me tonight. You're getting old, and I can't bear to see you suffer. Let me take the burden."

Shawn raised his hand to stop her. "No, there's no lasting grudge between father and daughter. I've forgotten all the pranks you pulled on me. No need for punishment."

Patrick handed a bottle to Vera.

Teddy held it with both hands, happily drinking his milk, sitting on the table with his little feet swinging.

Vera listened for a while, "So, who's taking Teddy tonight?"

Molly sat up, "How about we take turns? Each family gets a month, starting with the youngest. I'm the youngest, so my family goes first."

"Forget it. Vera's hand will be healed in a month."

Teddy finished his milk and turned to Patrick, holding the bottle.

Patrick took the bottle and picked him up with one hand, "Starting tonight, he'll sleep alone!"

Everyone was shocked. Shawn shouted, "Patrick, I never let you sleep alone before you were one."

Patrick replied, "I'm tough."

Molly suddenly fell silent. She sat next to Sebastian, "Patrick, I support you."

Shawn looked at Molly, "What scheme are you cooking up now?"

"No scheme, just pure support. Patrick is very wise."

Sebastian chuckled softly.

Late at night, Molly sneaked into the room without turning on the light. She was an expert at stealing the baby.

Holding Teddy, she quietly returned to her room. Molly used her butt to push the door open and whispered, "Sebastian, get the place ready. I got him."

Sebastian had already prepared the bed. He had even snuck Teddy's pillow from the living room crib earlier.

She placed the sleeping Teddy down, locked the bedroom door, and tiptoed to bed, moving slower than a movie's slow motion.

Not long after, Shawn went to the nursery, quietly opened the door without turning on the light, and found the bed empty. "Where's Teddy?"

Patrick checked on Teddy in the middle of the night, staring at the empty bed in silence.

"Molly or Dad?" Vera asked.

Patrick replied, "Molly."

She had been plotting when she supported him earlier.

The next morning, Molly's room echoed with her screams, "Sebastian, help! He's pulling my hair!"

Shawn heard Molly's scream, "Serves you right."

Sebastian pried Teddy's hand off and carried the crying baby out.

Shawn stood at Molly's door, "That's what you get for stealing the baby last night. Teddy never pulled my hair."

Molly glanced at her dad's bald head, "Maybe Teddy wanted to but couldn't find any."

Shawn called out, "Sebastian!"

His daughter had upset him, and now his son-in-law was being called out.

Cindy found out someone had stolen the baby last night and slapped her forehead, "Why didn't I think of that?"

Randall knew about Vera's hand injury and took his lunch break to meet her at the Olteran Manor gate. "Doesn't it hurt when you punch people? How did you get hurt just holding a baby? Weakling."

Vera used her elbow to show Randall what "weakling" meant, teaching him a lesson: even with an injured hand, she was still formidable.

"Why did you call me here?"

Randall's back hurt from the hit. He took a deep breath, moved his arm, and tossed a bag of snacks to Vera. "Take your stuff and get out."

Vera felt warm inside seeing the snacks, "If I'd known, I would've hit you lighter. How have you been?"

Randall leaned back in his seat, "Life's been pretty good."

Vera rolled her eyes and handed him a bank card. "Whether you spend it is up to you. Giving it is up to us. Stay safe."

She got out of the car with the snacks.

Randall drove off, opened the window, and threw the card back to Vera. "I don't need money. Just get your hand better."

Then he drove away.

Vera picked up the card, put it in her pocket, and went inside. She looked at Teddy and shouted, "Dad, Cindy, come downstairs for snacks!"
