Chapter 813 Moved Thoughts
When Molly got home, she scarfed down the pizza she had missed out on last night in just ten minutes.
Later that evening, as Sebastian was taking a shower in their bedroom, he couldn't shake off a feeling of guilt, like he had cheated on Molly, and he was scared she might find out.
Molly, being her usual clueless self, had no idea about the things that happened during his college days.
He stepped out and saw Molly on a video call with her friends while doing her skincare routine. "Why don't you go with Patrick on his business trip? You can have a little vacation yourself and keep an eye on those married men flirting around."
After saying that, she glanced back at Sebastian, who was drying his hair with a towel, shirtless.
Sebastian put down the towel and sat at the foot of the bed, looking at Molly with a hint of hesitation.
Their married life was stable and happy. Should he really bring up his past relationships and explain that his colleague was his ex-girlfriend from college? If he didn't say anything, Molly would remain blissfully unaware, and their relationship would stay strong. He hadn't done anything to betray her, and he could keep his distance from his ex.
But if he did tell her, it would create a rift in her heart. Working with Marigold, his ex, would make Molly's mind race with suspicions. Sebastian had thought through all the possible outcomes. Knowing Molly since childhood, he realized that working under the same roof with an ex would become a thorn in her side.
Molly found out that Patrick wanted to take his wife and kids to Vesperia. As a good friend, she advised, "Don't stay cooped up at home all the time. Susan's been out having fun for over half a month now, and Randall's been eagerly waiting for her to come back."
On the other end of the video call, Teddy was causing a ruckus, trying to get Molly's attention.
Eventually, Vera ended the video call and texted, "Did you explain?"
"No." Vera sighed, holding Teddy close on the bed. She looked down at her clever little boy. "Do you want to go on a trip?"
There was no response.
Vera leaned in and kissed Teddy.
Teddy grabbed his mom's hand for another kiss, and Vera, looking at her chubby little boy, suddenly had a not-so-reliable idea.
She quickly shook her head, dismissing the thought.
That night, Molly turned her back to Sebastian as they slept. When he placed his hand on her waist, she grabbed it and pushed it away.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm tired." Molly closed her eyes, her mind a jumble of thoughts, and fell asleep with a heavy heart.
Molly had been going to the station more frequently lately. Sam joked, "Molly, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were here to check up on Sebastian."
Molly replied, "What shady stuff has Sebastian been up to that I need to check on him?"
Sam thought for a moment. "Nothing really. Maybe he's hiding some secret stash of money?"
Molly rolled her eyes.
Later, Molly visited the Olteran Mansion and advised her friend not to waste time staying home. "Sebastian definitely doesn't have time to go on trips with me. If he were in business, I'd follow him everywhere. Patrick invited you, and if you don't go because of me, I'll feel guilty. You don't need to worry about me."
After spending a night at the Olteran Mansion, Sebastian, who had missed picking up Molly last time, made sure to join her even after working late into the night.
When he arrived at the mansion, everyone was asleep except for Molly, who was waiting for him.
Sebastian first went to the nursery to check on Teddy.
Molly followed him.
If anyone loved Theodore the most, it was undoubtedly his parents. But they were also the ones who were the strictest with him.
Sebastian gently held the sweet-smelling Teddy, softly grasping his tiny hand. "He's warm and sleeping well."
Molly watched Sebastian's affection for Teddy, her gaze shifting between the two.
"Sebastian, if you really like kids, why don't we have one of our own?" Molly asked tentatively.
Sebastian didn't take her seriously. "Teddy is enough for us to handle."
Molly leaned against the wall, looking at the adorable sleeping Teddy. Suddenly, she also wanted a child of her own with Sebastian.
She realized that she had always felt secure because Sebastian was always there for her. Now, she understood what it meant to lack a sense of security.
She even thought about using something Sebastian liked to please him.
Sebastian liked Teddy; he liked kids... If he loved Teddy so much, how would he feel about his own child?
Molly was lost in thought until Sebastian pinched her cheek, snapping her back to reality. "Sebastian, what are you doing?"
"I called you several times, and you didn't respond. What were you thinking about?"
Molly replied, "I was thinking about having a baby."
Sebastian chuckled and opened his arms, pulling Molly into a hug. "Then let's go back and discuss it properly?"
"Let's discuss it tomorrow night. I feel awkward here."
They quietly closed Teddy's bedroom door and left.
Late at night, Teddy's bedroom door opened again. He clung to Patrick's arm, turned over, and hugged his dad tightly, not letting go.
Patrick chuckled, "Even in his sleep, he sticks to me."
Vera watched the heartwarming scene between father and son and whispered, "Honey, I've changed my mind. Did you book the tickets?"
Patrick smiled, knowing this would happen. "Just waiting for you."
On Sunday, Vera went to the hospital to remove her cast and bandages, receiving more instructions from the doctor. Patrick took the family to the airport, and this time, they were joined by Jack.
The climate difference meant that while Zandonick was in the heat of summer, the foreign country was in the depths of winter.
On the plane, Vera felt the temperature change and wrapped Teddy in warm clothes in advance.
When they got off the plane, the cold hit Vera hard.
Teddy, back in his swaddling clothes with a hat on, was tightly bundled by Patrick, only his little round face showing.
As they stepped out of the airport, the cold made Teddy cry on Patrick's shoulder.
Outside the airport, someone was waiting to pick them up. The driver opened the back door respectfully. "Please, get in."
