Chapter 771 You're Such a Bully

Patrick sat on the edge of the bed while Teddy rolled over to him, his tiny hands patting the bed and his limbs flailing excitedly.

Patrick placed his large hand on Teddy's back. "Guess what? Zandonick updated his News Feed with a game link at four in the morning yesterday."

Vera quickly pulled out her phone to check. Sure enough, "He sent me a game link around two in the morning the day before yesterday. He ran out of game coins and needed to share with friends to get more for free."

Seeing this, Vera warned Shawn to go to sleep, but he arrogantly ignored her message.

The couple watched Teddy amusing himself on the bed. Vera scooped Teddy up into her arms and said, "Teddy, your grandpa needs you to take care of him."

Teddy looked up and laughed happily.

After spending a week with Noah, it was almost time to leave.

Vera sat on the edge of the bed in the bedroom, her eyes red with reluctance, wiping away tears alone.

Seeing Vera cry, Teddy's little mouth turned down, looking equally upset.

"Patrick, once we leave, Noah will be alone again. I wish we hadn't come. Going from a lively house to a quiet one, it breaks my heart the more I think about it," Vera said, her mind filled with thoughts of Noah being lonely.

Patrick stood in front of Vera, gently wiping away her tears. "How about I rearrange things at the company so we can stay a few more days with Noah?"

Vera shook her head. "Let's stick to our original plan. Otherwise, your schedule will be messed up. I just can't bear the thought of Noah being here all alone, but there's nothing we can do."

Teddy started crying loudly for Vera.

Noah, who was in the hotel discussing homework with his classmates, heard Teddy crying and got worried. "Sorry, I need to take a break. My nephew is crying."

When Noah reached the master bedroom, he found not only Teddy crying but Vera as well.

"Why are you crying? Missing me already?" Noah sat next to Vera and took Teddy from her arms. "I've gotten used to living here. Stop crying, Vera. You're making me lose respect for you."

Vera punched Noah playfully.

As soon as Vera started hitting Noah, Teddy stopped crying.

"Stop crying, Vera. I'm going back to my online discussion." Noah stood up with Teddy in his arms, glanced at Patrick, and then took Teddy out of the room.

Patrick said, "Noah, give me Teddy. You focus on your homework."

Noah, wearing his headphones, replied, "You comfort Vera. I can handle Teddy."

Just as he said he could handle it, Teddy grabbed one of Noah's earbuds and tried to put it in his mouth.

Noah gently took it back and placed the earbud near Teddy's ear. "Hey baby, is that you?" The group members on the other end greeted Teddy.

Teddy, with a serious expression, listened to the voices coming from the earbud and looked at Noah with a puzzled face.

Back in the bedroom, Patrick comforted Vera for a while. Vera wiped her eyes, got up, and took Teddy, who was interrupting Noah's study, out of the room.

The family of three went out, leaving Noah to focus on his discussion.

After dinner, the three adults and one child took a walk in the park downstairs. They had an early flight the next morning.

Patrick said, "Noah, the car is a gift from Vera and me. Tomorrow morning, you can drive us to the airport and then take it back."

Noah replied, "Patrick, I don't need a car."

Patrick insisted, "A young man needs to drive more. It helps you get a feel for controlling things."

Vera added, "Did you hear that? If you dare refuse, I'll make you take it."

"You're such a bully."

Vera lifted her foot to kick Noah, but he dodged.

On their last night, Teddy still slept with Noah. Exhausted from crying, he soon fell asleep.

Early the next morning.

Vera had been reminding Noah since early morning, "Don't go out too much at night; it's not safe. Always have breakfast, cut down on burgers and pizza, drink something good for your stomach, and exercise regularly. You're a young man; you need to stay fit. If you need anything beyond your means, call home."

Patrick added, "I've already spoken to the branch office. If anything comes up, the vice president will handle it personally. You're not alone here; my company has your back."

"And make sure to get along with your classmates. Building good relationships is important too," Vera nagged all the way. She didn't get tired of it, but Teddy was already fed up, lying on Noah's chest, almost covering his ears.

Noah said, "Got it, Vera. You've become so naggy since becoming a mom. Even my own mom isn't this naggy."

Vera gave Noah a playful slap. "Remember that."

"I will. I'm more independent than you think. You just like to boss me around because you're a few years older. But thanks, Patrick."

Patrick smiled, "No need to be so formal with me."

"I'm just saying it. Don't take it to heart."

At the airport, the announcement for boarding came. Vera, reluctant to leave, turned to Noah. "Drink less cold stuff, cut down on coffee, go to bed early, drink less alcohol, and call us if you miss us."

Noah, also feeling the pain of parting, opened his arms and hugged Vera. "Got it. Go on, Vera."

Vera, still worried she might have missed something, said, "Remember everything I said. Take good care of yourself."

"I will, I will."

Noah raised his hand to wipe away Vera's tears. "You're the one who hits me, but you're also the one who can't bear to leave me. Go on now."

Patrick put his arm around Vera's shoulder. "Vera has a soft heart. She hits you because she loves you."

The announcement came again.

Vera held Teddy, who was looking around curiously.

"Teddy, we're going home. Should we leave you here with Noah?" Vera asked.

Noah clapped his hands at Teddy. "Want to stay with me?"

Teddy immediately reached out to Noah, his little body leaning towards him.

"You really want to stay with me, huh?" Noah took Teddy, gave him a couple of kisses, and reluctantly let go.

Time was running out, and they had to go.

Noah watched as the family of three went through security.

Teddy waved goodbye to Noah.

Noah raised his hand and waved back at the family.

Sitting on the plane, Vera felt much more at ease. They could have flown back the night before, but Patrick had booked the next day's flight to give the siblings more time together and to let Teddy see the sky during the day.
