Chapter 759 In This Lifetime

Teddy's sadness lingered as he arrived at The Olteran Manor and saw Shawn. When Shawn held him, Teddy's melodramatic tendencies flared up again.

Sitting on Shawn's lap, the tears started flowing once more.

Vincent held Teddy, feeling the sweat on his back and noticing his onesie was soaked with tears. He felt sorry for him. "How many shots did you get today to cry like this?"

Vera, on the other hand, showed no sympathy for Teddy. She cheerfully replied, "Just one shot today. Next month, it'll be two. He'll probably cry even harder."

Vincent wiped Teddy's tears and, despite the heat, carried him outside to play with the kids.

Cindy had heard early in the morning that Teddy was coming, so she hurried to have the kitchen prepare some delicious food for him. When she couldn't find him inside, she learned he was outdoors and scolded Vincent, "It's scorching out there. You might not be afraid of heatstroke, but the kid is. Taking him out in the sun—I've never seen you this active in winter."

Women truly know how to take charge. Before long, Cindy had chased Vincent and Teddy back into the living room.

Teddy's tears magically disappeared when he saw the food Cindy had prepared for him.

Molly learned that the family of three was leaving today. "Enjoy these days when you can just leave whenever you want. Once you start working, you won't have that freedom."

Vera added, "Also, cherish the days when you're not a mom yet. Once you have a kid, you'll realize you can't go anywhere without dragging along a little burden. His luggage takes up half the suitcase! If Patrick isn't free, I'm stuck."

In the end, everyone envied Susan.

"Silly girl, your life right now is the happy days."

Susan, feeling down, said, "We're almost breaking up. What's so good about that?"

Molly chimed in, "Susan, men are the most abundant species in the world. These men, you can do without them. Vera and I, we want to leave but don't dare. At least you don't have a marriage certificate. Breaking up is just a matter of saying it."

When Molly called Susan, Randall was right next to her. He grabbed Susan's phone and said, "Are you asking for Sebastian to deal with you?"

Molly hadn't expected Randall to be there. She felt guilty but retorted, "Sebastian trusts me. Don't try to stir up trouble between us."

Randall replied, "Just wait."

After hanging up, Randall looked at Susan. "Don't listen to them. If they have the guts, let them try getting a divorce. They're projecting their own issues onto you. Don't answer their calls anymore."

Susan clutched the bedspread, looking dazed.

Randall sensed something was wrong. "What are you overthinking now?"

His girlfriend started again, "Randall, do you even like me?"

Randall gestured to his chest. "Should I hang a big sign around my neck that says: Susan's boyfriend, I pursued her?"

"That's not necessary."

Randall sat in front of her and asked, "Are you upset?"

"You never really pursued me. A kiss doesn't count." Susan was being difficult again.

Randall leaned back in his chair, scratching his head in frustration. "Should I make it up to you?"

"Then make it up. I'll sit here and wait." Susan said.

Randall bent down and grabbed Susan's wrist. "Waiting here doesn't count. Come with me."

Susan suddenly remembered that Teddy was leaving today and wanted to go back to see him.

Randall immediately started a video call with Cindy, letting Susan sit in the passenger seat and video chat with Teddy while he drove aimlessly around Zandonick.

Teddy's nap was cut short as he became the center of attention for the Olteran family.

Vincent, taking advantage of the weekend, held Teddy while Cindy recorded a video, showing Teddy's adorable face to "daughter-in-law" Susan.

Cindy had secretly changed Susan's contact name to "daughter-in-law" and even sent a screenshot to Teddy.

Randall had known about it early on and didn't stop Cindy, instead, he tacitly approved.

When Susan used Randall's phone to video call Cindy, she accidentally saw the screenshot and blushed.

Shawn, having been driven to a headache by Teddy's crying, retreated to his bedroom after lunch, fearing Vera would make him take care of the child.

He even locked the bedroom door when he went in.

Vera, holding Teddy, knocked on the door for a long time. "Teddy, call your grandpa to come out and hold you."

Teddy shouted at the door.

Eventually, Shawn stayed hidden under the covers, leaving Teddy in Vincent and Cindy's arms.

Even asleep, they couldn't bear to leave him in the car; they had to hold him while video chatting.

Vera recorded a video and sent it to the family group.

Molly quickly commented, "Vera, don't you think Teddy looks like Randall and Susan's kid, and Cindy is excitedly looking at her grandson?"

Vera replied, "That's exactly how it feels."

"You gave birth in vain, giving Randall and Susan a child."

Vera said, "Those two are hopeless. Who knows how long we'll have to wait for their kid."

Shawn, who had been hiding, appeared and questioned Randall, "Randall, can you give me a straight answer today? I don't want a great-grandchild. I just want to know if I'll see you marry Susan in my lifetime."

Molly quickly replied, "Dad, live well. If you make it to 100, maybe."

Shawn started scolding Randall in the group chat again.

Susan saw the messages and pouted cutely, then complained, "Randall, Grandpa is scolding you."

Randall replied, "He's never said anything good about me."

Soon after, Susan said, "Randall, Aunt Molly is scolding you too."

Randall changed lanes, "Married woman, I just threatened her, and now she's retaliating."

A moment later, Susan said, "Randall, now everyone in the group is accusing you."

Randall said, "They have too much free time!"

Patrick was in a meeting at the company when his phone kept vibrating. He opened it to see the family group chat buzzing with conversation.

Jack, being perceptive, noticed Patrick checking his phone multiple times and knew the meeting time needed to be shortened.

After about ten minutes of video chatting, the call ended. Vincent walked around holding the sleeping Teddy, occasionally looking down and giving him gentle kisses.

At four-thirty, Patrick came home, and Teddy woke up.

The first thing Teddy did upon waking was cry. Sitting on Vincent's lap, Teddy cried alone while the whole family laughed.

Vera approached him, and Teddy raised his chubby arms, wanting Vera to hold him.

"Waking up and crying is Teddy's usual routine. Everyone, please understand."

Vera held Teddy, and before his tears dried, Patrick came in.

The embrace immediately changed hands.

The family's luggage was all in Patrick's trunk. Before flying, Vera took Teddy to bathe. "You were sweating and crying earlier, smelling sour and sweaty. Your clothes are damp. Let's get you cleaned up and fresh."

Teddy, though unhappy with Vera's complaints, still felt "slightly" happy in Patrick's arms.
