Chapter 777 Mr. Olteran's Bias

Randall said, "Man, you get excited so easily. Just calling you 'sis' gets you all worked up."

Susan pursed her lips and shook Randall's arm. "I like hearing it."

"Well, Teddy can call you that all he wants later." Randall led Susan to the car, and they headed back to the house together.

Susan leaned on the balcony, gazing at the scenery outside, feeling utterly content.

She recorded a video on her phone, planning to head home early that day.

"Not staying with me until eight or nine?" Randall asked.

Susan said, "The baby is back. I need to go home and bond with him."

The Olteran family.

Teddy worked hard in the morning to send the family off to work and had to greet them at the door in the evening.

Vincent came home for hugs and kisses, Molly for cuddles, and Patrick, well, Patrick didn't wait for kisses; he habitually opened his mouth to nibble.

Soon, Susan returned home too.

Vera pulled Susan aside to ask about the house. "Which one did you end up signing for?"

"The second listing you sent me. It's pricey, $2500 a month. Randall said it's close to work, so he can walk there in the morning and save on gas. So, we went with that one," Susan explained.

Patrick held Teddy, letting him squirm around in his arms, nibbling on his face, but his mind was on Susan's words.

Molly chimed in, "That's the going rate for downtown. Renting the whole place would be even more expensive. Randall's working; we should visit him sometime. How are the roommates?"

Susan said, "They're all guys, so I'm not worried. But if you want to visit, let me clean up and get some things set up first."

Cindy said, "Don't worry about it, Susan. I'll go clean for Randall. You've been working hard."

Susan quickly shook her head. "I'm not tired. Don't be so polite with me."

Cindy looked at Susan, feeling a pang of sympathy. Susan was the heiress of the Morales Group, yet she spent her days running around with Randall.

Vera said to Cindy, "Cindy, Susan is family. Let her go out with Randall and experience things. It's not necessarily a bad thing for her."

Susan was the only child of the Morales family, and her parents were overly protective, treating her like a museum artifact, always safeguarding her from the elements, keeping her in a sheltered bubble, never letting her grow up.

Parents often protect their children this way, shielding them from the harsh realities of the world, preserving their innocence. Some parents, however, believe in exposing their children to the world early, teaching them to navigate its dangers and protect themselves. Both approaches stem from love, each with its pros and cons.

Cindy asked where Randall lived and handed Susan a bank card to buy some essentials for Randall, but Susan refused.

Vincent inquired about Randall's job, and Shawn expressed his thoughts, "We have plenty of money. Why does he need to go out and suffer?"

Vera glanced at the living room, where Patrick was walking around with Teddy.

Teddy, for some reason, had taken a liking to pressing his forehead against Patrick's eye, opening his mouth to kiss Patrick's face, making little noises.

Patrick patted Teddy's back, walking around with the soft, chubby bundle in his arms, looking adorable.

Though Patrick seemed focused on taking care of Teddy, Vera could see through him.

He hadn't said a word for a while, but his ears were tuned into their conversation about Randall.

Later that night, Vera showed Patrick the listing on her phone. "This is the place Randall rented. Take a look."

Patrick said, "I don't want to."

"It's just us in the room. Why are you sulking?" Vera handed the phone to Patrick and went to the bathroom with a towel.

Sebastian came home late after working on a case at the station. He looked for Teddy first. Molly went to Patrick's room, but as soon as she knocked, Patrick threw her out.

"Thanks, Patrick."

Sebastian held Teddy, who cried for a bit but soon got used to him. That night, Sebastian and Molly tried to put Teddy to bed, but he cried again.

In the end, Shawn appeared, and Teddy reached out his little hand to Shawn. Shawn reluctantly ran over and took Teddy.

Patrick looked at the information but didn't react much. Vera knew he cared about Randall, despite his silence.

Seeing Patrick's quiet demeanor, Vera, fresh from her bath, walked over and sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Let the boy go out and explore. If young people lack ambition and just live off the family wealth, it'll be gone in no time."

"Let's not talk about him." Patrick tightened his hold on Vera, his hand sliding under her dress, caressing her smooth legs.

"Then let's talk about me. Honey, if I start a business, will you argue with me?" Vera asked.

Patrick closed his eyes, inhaling Vera's scent, finding peace. "I'll invest. Whatever you need, I'll provide."

Vera cupped Patrick's face and kissed him. Her bright eyes sparkled, curving into little crescents. "Honey, give me money!"

Patrick's eyes lifted slightly, filled with desire as he looked at Vera's lips. "How much you get depends on your performance tonight."

Vera wrapped her arms around Patrick's neck, leaning in to kiss him. As things heated up, Patrick couldn't hold back and moved towards the bed. Suddenly, Vera remembered something and pushed Patrick's shoulder. "Wait, where's Teddy?"

She had just taken a bath, and now Teddy was nowhere to be seen.

Patrick suddenly remembered Teddy too and paused. "He won't get lost."

With that, he didn't worry about Teddy's whereabouts.

In Shawn's room, the grandfather and grandson yawned at each other. Shawn complained, "Your dad is so rich, but he can't hire a nanny for you. No, he hired four nannies, but you won't let anyone else take care of you."

Teddy lay on the bed, smiling at his grandpa.

"Teddy, listen to Grandpa. When Patrick gets old, treat him the way he treats Grandpa, okay? Get back at him for me."

"Deal." Teddy crawled onto Shawn's belly, but Shawn quickly pushed him off, remembering the previous nibbling incident.

"Sleep. You'll probably be in my room again tonight," Shawn said knowingly.

Molly lay in Sebastian's arms that night, scrolling through shopping apps on her phone, adding items to her cart.

After a while, she exited the app and opened a luxury brand's website to check out new arrivals. Finding nothing interesting, she closed her phone and turned to face Sebastian.

She didn't know why, but Sebastian's gaze made her feel guilty. Molly turned away, thinking she hadn't done anything wrong.

The next morning, Susan was up early, knocking on Molly's door. "Molly, you're going to be late for work."

"Late is late. I have a husband; I don't care about perfect attendance."

Sebastian had no response to that.
