Chapter 730 Parents' Concern

The next morning, before Susan could bring up the idea of moving out again, everyone at the breakfast table was determined not to let her go.

Cindy, who practically considered Susan her future daughter-in-law, insisted, "Susan, Randall can't cook to save his life. Let him figure it out. You stay here, and I'll take care of you."

Shawn added, "Vera left and took Teddy with her. Molly's going home in a few days. If you leave too, I'll be all alone."

Susan replied, "Grandpa, that's not what 'left behind' means."

"Why not? I say it is."

Later, Randall called Susan and said, "I haven't settled down yet. If you come over, it'll just be a hassle moving around with me."

Susan remembered Randall's words from that night. In a soft, slightly playful tone, she said, "Randall, you said you'd come to get me."

Randall swallowed, "I will, but only when I'm stable enough to take care of you. I don't want you to suffer with me. Stay home and don't cause trouble. If you miss me, call me, and I'll come get you."

"Well, I miss you right now."

Randall replied, "Signal's bad, can't hear you."

Susan pouted, "You're just like Grandpa, always making excuses."

Since Teddy had been living it up at the Linister Villa, getting chubby and sleeping all day, Vera thoughtfully packed his things early in the morning and put them in Patrick's car. Pointing to Teddy in the car seat, holding his bottle, she said, "Either take him back to Dad or bring him to work with you. Just don't let him sleep during the day!"

Patrick responded, "Take him to Dad."

So, Shawn received Teddy and his big bag of belongings that morning.

Susan appeared, "Grandpa, now you're not left behind, right?"

Shawn looked at Teddy, "Now that he's here, you're not moving out, right?"

Susan grabbed Teddy, gave him a couple of kisses, and ran off to school.

Later, Cindy and Vincent managed to find Randall's address and went to see him at the hotel.

It had been a long time since the family had been together, and when they met again, there was a noticeable silence.

Cindy looked around Randall's living conditions, and Vincent glanced at the thick stack of books on the table. He picked one up and couldn't understand it, "Is this for your grad school exams?"

"Yeah, I don't have the foundational knowledge, so I'm catching up on college basics," Randall explained.

Vincent put the book down and gently patted the stack of books and papers, feeling a pang of regret for neglecting Randall due to his work.

Cindy sat beside Randall, "Randall, come home. No one is here to take care of you. Even if you're studying for exams, you need a good environment. Patrick has accepted your decision. Come home with Mom and Dad. We can take care of you."

Randall replied, "Mom, I'm not going back. I finally have my freedom and independence. I'm not giving that up."

Cindy asked, "What about Susan? Your girlfriend is still at home. Are you just going to leave her?"

"You guys are there to look after her," Randall said bluntly.

Cindy sighed, knowing Randall wouldn't easily agree to come home.

She opened her purse and took out three bank cards, "These are savings from your grandmother, me, and your dad. Together, they amount to over four hundred thousand dollars. It's all from my coffee shop earnings and what your dad and I saved for you."

Shawn had given Cindy and Vincent the money Randall's grandmother had saved for him when he was born.

Randall pushed them away, "Mom, I don't want it."

Vincent, sitting on the couch, said, "Take it. We can't help you much, but we can give you some money."

"Patrick paid me well. I still have money. Don't give me more," Randall said, putting the cards and savings back in Cindy's purse. "If you keep pushing, I'll move and not tell you where."

"This is your parents' money. Are you going to refuse it just because you're mad at Patrick?" Cindy asked.

Randall firmly replied, "I won't spend it. I can support myself. I'm not so useless that I need my parents' money just because I'm in a relationship."

Vincent calculated, "Randall, you have rent, car payments, and studying. You won't have much left. Take the money."

Randall said, "If you give it to me, I'll have Susan return it. I want to see what I can do without relying on the Olteran family. Susan understands me and never brings up money."

Cindy opened her mouth but didn't give Randall the cards.

She looked disappointed, "What about your dirty clothes? I'll wash them and bring them back. And it's getting hot. I'll sort your clothes and bring them to you."

"I have hands. I can wash my clothes and feed myself. Don't worry, Mom." Randall took Cindy's purse and gently pushed her shoulder, calling to Vincent, "Dad, let's go eat."

Cindy didn't give Randall the cards, but after dinner, Randall found out his parents had secretly paid for another month at the hotel.

"Why are they so stubborn?" Randall muttered, feeling touched but still complaining.

Parents' love is unconditional. No matter how much they might criticize their children, they always care deeply.

Shawn, hearing that Randall didn't take the bank cards, sighed and looked sad, "How is Randall doing out there?"

Cindy reassured Shawn, "He's doing fine, Dad. Don't worry."

Seeing Shawn's lonely figure, Susan knew he was thinking about Randall. She decided, "Grandpa, let's surprise Randall this weekend with Molly."

Randall misses Shawn but is too proud to admit it.

"Sounds great!" Shawn agreed, his eyes brightening.
