Chapter 734 Molly Casually Steals a Child
Molly thought for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, looks like Randall's a jerk too."
Sebastian replied, "Not all guys are creeps, you know."
At the hotel, Randall made the bed and helped Susan lie down.
"If you don't sleep, I won't either," Susan said stubbornly.
Randall sighed, took her hand, and lay down next to her.
Susan bit her lip.
Randall shouted, "Come on, hurry up, or do you want me to hold you?"
"Fine," Susan said, reluctantly moving to the other side of the bed, lifting the blanket, and lying down. "Randall, you're not using the blanket."
"I'm hot, okay?"
"Alright."
Susan lay there, looking at Randall beside her, her heart racing and her face blushing.
It was the first time Randall had ever lain next to a woman. Even though he avoided using the blanket, the close proximity made it impossible for him to remain unaffected.
So, Randall turned over, his back facing Susan.
"Randall, I'm not even sleepy. Why do you insist I sleep?"
Even with his back turned and eyes closed, Randall could feel Susan's gaze on him. "Why do you have so many questions? If you don't sleep, I'll send you back."
Susan, feeling dejected, closed her eyes and decided to listen to Randall.
Ten minutes later, as the breathing beside him became steady, Randall opened his eyes and saw that Susan had finally fallen asleep.
Having a girlfriend around was distracting; he couldn't focus on his studies.
Especially when Susan pulled up a chair and sat beside him, resting her face on her hand to keep him company.
Randall got up, moved to the foot of the bed, put on his headphones, and resumed studying.
Patrick returned home with the watermelon Vera wanted. She ate it while Teddy tried to grab some. Vera fed Patrick a bite, and Teddy tried to snatch it from Patrick's mouth.
After finishing the watermelon, Vera washed it clean and placed the rind on Teddy's bald head.
Teddy, holding the empty rind, looked silly and started gnawing on it.
The bell on Teddy's wrist jingled continuously.
The crisp sound echoed through the summer, dispelling the heat.
In the cool evening, Susan woke up, and Randall wanted to take her out for dinner. But Susan insisted on reheating the leftover lunch and eating it in the hotel before going for a walk.
"Going out means spending money, and Randall doesn't like spending my money."
Randall couldn't argue with Susan. She took the lunchbox downstairs, found a hotel staff member, and reheated the food herself.
Around seven, they finally left the hotel. Randall also had the hotel staff clean the room.
Susan took Randall to a small shop in the mall and bought him essential items. "Randall, even though the hotel changes towels daily, I still think it's unhygienic. Since you're staying long-term, let's buy new ones."
Susan handed Randall a face towel. "For your face."
"These are for women."
Susan replied, "They're for people, not just women."
She picked up a towel.
Randall said, "We already have towels. Why buy face towels?"
Susan explained, "Face towels are for your face, and towels are for your hair."
Randall looked annoyed. "A bath towel can dry hair too."
Susan stood in front of the bath towels, hand on her chin, unsure which color to choose. "Bath towels are for your body."
She handed Randall a dark blue bath towel.
"Are we buying foot towels next?" Randall gave up resisting and let Susan buy what she wanted.
Susan replied, "A water-absorbent mat will do."
Among all the things Susan bought, Randall only found the bath towel useful.
"The hotel's shampoo isn't good. Let's buy a new one."
Susan went to the shelf to choose.
Randall said, "Just grab one."
Susan asked, "Randall, do you have dandruff?"
Randall replied, "No."
"Is your hair oily?"
Randall said, "Just grab one."
Susan asked again, "Randall, do you have hair loss?"
"No!" Randall was firm. Even if he did, only he would know.
Susan nodded and continued selecting.
At that moment, Randall admired Sebastian for his patience in shopping with Molly.
An hour later, they left the store.
Randall pulled Susan away from the mall and took her for a drive to enjoy the night view, which was better than shopping.
Molly, seeing that her family didn't need her, was tricked by Sebastian into returning to the Chase family.
Thus, Sebastian's "happy" life resumed.
Regarding the topic of children, Ellie had a private conversation with Molly at the company. "When are you and Sebastian planning to have kids?"
Molly suddenly remembered how Sebastian had tricked her into marriage, saying, "Once we're married, we'll be busy. After having a child, we'll be even busier. Then I won't have to inherit the company."
So she asked, "Mom, do you mean if I get pregnant, I won't have to work?"
Ellie replied, "You're overthinking it."
"Then if I have a child and take maternity leave, I won't have to work, right?" Molly asked again.
Ellie nodded, "Of course."
Molly asked, "Can I take a year off to recover?"
Ellie said, "Why don't you just say you want to take a lifetime off?"
Molly got scolded by Ellie again.
"Then I won't have kids, so you won't become a grandmother early."
Ellie said, "Vera will have a second child by then. Let's see if you're jealous."
Molly shook her head firmly. "No way. One Teddy is enough to scare her and Patrick from having a second child."
Ellie didn't bother with Molly. Instead, Zoey and Max, envious of the Olteran family's Teddy, also wanted a child.
The next day, Molly secretly went home, waited for Shawn to fall asleep, and snuck Teddy out of the Olteran Manor, bringing him to the Chase Manor.
In just one afternoon, Shawn was almost driven mad by Molly, and Zoey and Max were so overwhelmed by Teddy that they stopped mentioning having a child.
Molly was happy during the day, and Sebastian was happy at night. Their happiness didn't conflict.
In the height of summer, the cicadas chirped, the sun scorched the earth, and the temperature soared. Walking on the road, one could see the heat waves rising from the ground.
A few steps would make you sweat all over.
Only the shade of the green trees offered a moment of peace.
The hotter it got, the faster Susan ran, trying to avoid the sun. Vera, on the other hand, walked slower, using her book as a fan, but the wind it created was still hot.
Randall sat in the car, sorting through interview invitations in his email.
In the Olteran Group's office, Patrick looked at Randall's job application profile on the job search app.
