Chapter 851 Fear of Not Being Discovered

Some people don't want to be noticed, while others are afraid of not being noticed.

Molly wished she could hide, but Teddy from the Olteran family was afraid Sebastian wouldn't see him.

He'd already thrown away his lollipop. Seeing Sebastian come back in uniform, he excitedly raised his hand: "Mm-mm~" wanting a hug.

For a moment, Molly felt betrayed. She'd loved him like her precious baby before, and now seeing Sebastian, he was as excited as... what!

But! This time Sebastian didn't go forward to hug Teddy. Instead, he looked toward his wife and walked forward.

The man saw Sebastian come in with an unusual presence, so he took the initiative to approach him.

"You're the one in charge, right?"

He immediately blocked Sebastian's path.

Sebastian asked coldly: "...What happened?"

He needed to understand the situation too.

The man launched right in, repeating exactly what he'd said before. He kept harping on how he'd stopped on the highway once, got rear-ended, the highway ruled the other car fully at fault, then spent over ten thousand dollars on repairs, and wanted the same outcome this time.

That's why he had such confidence.

In his words, changing lanes without signaling was a mistake all experienced drivers make. He wasn't the only one who did it, so it wasn't really his fault.

Even if it was wrong, it was just a points deduction, and he didn't care about that.

Having had that previous experience gave him the confidence to come argue.

"Besides, all your subordinates here are biased toward her because they know her. I'm going to file a complaint that they're being unfair." The man said emotionally.

The woman beside him chimed in: "Right, we're filing a complaint."

Sebastian looked at Molly.

Everyone knew what was going on, but no one spoke.

Then they heard Molly say: "Honey."

The room suddenly went quiet.

Molly's eyes met Sebastian's. Who she was calling was obvious.

The room fell completely silent.

Teddy was looking down on the floor for his lollipop, knowing to search quietly.

Even Teddy's yawn sounded particularly loud in the room.

After yawning, tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at Sebastian.

"You, you guys..."

Since Sebastian was here anyway, there was no point in Molly hiding anymore. She walked straight to her husband's side and took his arm: "Honey, he pushed me. My arm is ruined now, it's broken."

Sebastian: "..."

"No wonder they're all on your side - turns out you're married."

The man said in shock. He hadn't expected Molly to have someone backing her up.

Sebastian understood Molly pretty well - she wouldn't pick fights or get into disputes for no reason. And she knew how to handle things properly.

He'd also heard everything clearly just now. He knew the man had violated traffic rules and, because of a previous precedent, wanted to make some money, and happened to run into Molly, a newbie.

She got out of the car and didn't handle things smoothly, didn't call the police directly, but got into an argument with the other party. As a result, she ran into a troublemaker who thought he could bully them because they were young women.

Turns out he couldn't beat them in a fight or win the argument either, so he couldn't swallow his anger and wanted to claim hospitalization to extort money.

After Sebastian arrived, he said directly: "I'm a family member of the involved party, so I won't participate in the judgment. Whatever the penalty should be, we'll accept it. If you want to file a complaint, impound both cars! We'll cooperate with the court investigation."

Hearing that Sebastian wasn't criticizing her and was even standing up for her, Molly straightened her bent back immediately.

Teddy yawned again. He was so tired - his naps had been interrupted twice today, once by Molly and once by the strange man. Now he was so sleepy he wanted to cry again.

Marigold quickly picked up Teddy. Vera reached out: "Let me hold him, he's too heavy."

Marigold tested his weight: "It's okay, I can hold him."

Even if she couldn't, she didn't want to give him up.

Because his mom loved cleanliness, Teddy's clothes were always clean. She bathed him every day. The well-groomed Teddy smelled of milk.

Marigold couldn't put him down.

She seemed to understand why Scott liked this Teddy.

He'd even asked her to go shopping with him to buy children's clothes and toys.

The argument started up again in front, and Teddy started crying again.

Marigold turned around holding the child: "Vera, come with me. Where I live is quiet."

Vera followed Marigold to the back yard, turning several corners and going around several bends, finally arriving at the dormitory in the back. "I usually live here. The female officers all have families, I'm the only one here. Come in."

Vera followed her in and saw four bunk beds inside. The others were piled with miscellaneous items, only Marigold's had beige bedding on it.

Vera wanted to take Teddy and comfort him to sleep.

But Marigold asked directly: "How do you get Teddy to sleep?"

She was planning to do it herself.

Vera said: "Gently pat his back, occasionally smooth down the back of his head, and rock him gently."

Marigold followed the instructions: "Like this?"

Vera nodded. Watching the awkward and stiff Marigold, Vera took the child. Teddy closed his eyes and rubbed around randomly in his mom's arms. Vera tucked one of Teddy's little arms under her own arm and stood up to walk around casually.

Marigold saw the arm tucked behind and wanted to pull Teddy's arm back out.

Vera smiled: "It's fine. When you become a mom, you'll know this way is comfortable for both you and the child."

At first she didn't dare hold the child with his arm tucked back either, but later she got used to it and didn't think much of it.

Teddy was uncomfortable for a while. He was very tired but couldn't fall asleep. It took Vera a while to settle Teddy down, patting his bottom while constantly walking around.

He'd just fallen asleep not long ago when Molly came to the back looking for Vera.

She pushed open the door: "Vera, I'm so mad. We're going to the hospital now..."

"Shh!"

Molly immediately closed her mouth. Looking at the twitching Teddy in Vera's arms, she said quietly: "Vera, we're going to the hospital now. Call Patrick to come pick you up."

Vera shook her head: "I don't dare. Patrick doesn't let me get in fights. Just take Teddy with you. You go by yourself, I'll wait here for you to come back."

"Okay."

Molly turned and left. Nothing had gone smoothly today - she hadn't done anything right. A wave of frustration washed over her.

Plus she'd been inexplicably irritable and angry lately - it must be Mercury retrograde.

Sitting in Sebastian's car, Molly took a deep breath and told herself to calm down.

"Sebastian, what kind of luck is this?"

Sebastian finally offered some comfort: "Don't worry, it's not your fault."

"But he wants to extort me."

Sebastian: "Medical evidence won't let him succeed."

He also set off with Molly to the hospital.

If Vera had gotten a surprise from fighting back then, then Molly got a shock from arguing!

Before long, Randall took leave and went to the police station. In the past he'd been a regular visitor, but today his role had changed - he was here to bail someone out.

"Where are Vera and Teddy?"
