Chapter 744 Mr. Olteran Sells His Son
Randall's tongue brushed against Susan's lips. His other hand rested on her neck. Nervous, Susan clenched her teeth tightly. "Open your mouth," Randall urged, seizing the moment.
"What?" Susan mumbled, and Randall took advantage, slipping his tongue into her mouth. He tightened his grip around her arm, closed his eyes, and kissed her with raw emotion, no technique, just following his heart.
Susan's face turned crimson, the blush spreading down to her neck. She closed her eyes tightly, the strange sensation in her mouth and Randall's tight embrace making her heart race.
At lunch, in the restaurant, Randall had washed up but hadn't dried his hair. Susan, still blushing, kept her head down, not daring to look at him.
Randall held the menu, ordering food. "What do you want to drink?"
"Water." After ordering, Randall sent the waiter away.
He looked at Susan, who still wouldn't lift her head. "You wanted the kiss, but now you're all shy. Look at me. Are you studying with me at the city library this afternoon, or with your classmates at the school library?"
"With my classmates."
"After lunch, we'll head back to the hotel for a nap, and then I'll take you there."
Randall added a reminder, "Sit with the girls, not the guys."
"Okay."
In the afternoon, Randall dropped Susan off at the library. She was holding a new ice cream cone. The one in the car had melted, but Susan insisted on eating it because Randall had bought it for her. Randall eventually threw it away and bought her a new one before bringing her to the library.
"I'll be here waiting when you're done," Randall said.
Susan nodded and waved goodbye to Randall. As she walked towards the library entrance, she quickly devoured the large ice cream cone.
Randall didn't return to the hotel but instead went to meet some well-known friends in the industry.
At the library, Susan met up with her classmates. "Susan, are you really dating Randall?" one of them asked.
Susan's cheeks turned rosy as she shyly nodded. "Yes, but we haven't made it public since Randall isn't at school."
"Congrats! Are you living together?"
Susan shook her head. "No, I'm staying at his place, but he got kicked out."
"Does that mean you get to see Patrick every day?" Her classmates were even more excited. "Is Patrick as handsome as in the photos? You're so lucky! We have to admire him from pictures, but you get to see him every day."
"Patrick's kid is really as cute as they say online, right? Does Patrick love his wife more or the baby? My roommate often sees Patrick dropping his wife off at school."
Susan nodded and then shook her head. "I don't see them every day. Patrick and Vera have their own home. Teddy is super cute, though. We all video call him if we don't see him for a day. As for who Patrick loves more, I think he loves them both."
At Cherry Villa, Teddy was back in Vera's arms, clinging to her happily.
When he got hungry, he instinctively nuzzled Vera's clothes, looking for his food source.
"Mommy's not feeding you anymore. You know how to call for Daddy, so let him feed you," Vera said.
Teddy, through the fabric, tried to nibble on Vera.
Vera adjusted Teddy, sitting him on her lap. He looked up at her, listening as she talked. "You need to wean off. Once you do, I'll be free. I want to eat all the delicious food I've missed out on this past year."
Teddy smiled up at her.
"Ice cream, chocolate, fried food, seafood, cold drinks... I'm going to eat them all," Vera said, tapping Teddy's nose. "Because I had to breastfeed you, I haven't had any of those. Molly and Randall go out and eat delicious food, and I get so jealous. But I was worried about you, so I ate super healthy for over a year, healthier than your grandpa. And you, ungrateful little one, learned to call for Daddy first." Vera poked Teddy's chest.
Teddy, sitting on Vera's lap, giggled, thinking Vera was playing a game with him.
"Silly boy, I'm complaining about you, and you're laughing," Vera said, holding Teddy. He opened his mouth and tried to nibble on her face, pulling at her hair.
Teddy, on his tiptoes, fell into Vera's arms, comforted by her familiar scent, babbling away.
"Mrs. Olteran, let us take Teddy. Mr. Olteran instructed us to care for him so you can study," a staff member said.
Vera looked at Teddy, who was clinging to her. She knew he would cry if they took him away. "Take his stroller to Patrick's study. I'll hold him while I study. He'll fall asleep soon."
Sure enough, Teddy, holding his bottle, lay in the stroller and soon fell asleep, not even finishing his milk.
Vera recorded a video of Teddy and sent it to Patrick.
Patrick watched the video, smiling at the sight of the sleeping Teddy. The memory of Teddy crying pitifully after waking up that day still tugged at his heart. He had secretly kissed Teddy's cheek, not wanting to let go. But now, back home, Teddy was his adorable self again.
Even when he cried, Teddy was still cute in his parents' eyes.
A while later, Jack entered. "Mr. Olteran, about Randall."
Patrick put down his phone, and Jack continued, "Randall has interviewed at two more companies. One is hiring under the guise of a network engineer but is actually for sales. The other requires an $8,000 deposit upfront, claiming to train future engineers but starting with sales training. Both are scams."
Jack was furious. "Mr. Olteran, these are clearly scams."
Patrick remained silent.
"Randall has interviewed at eight network companies already. Do you think he's getting discouraged?"
Patrick paused before speaking. "You can go."
Jack left reluctantly.
Alone in his office, Patrick couldn't focus on work. He picked up his phone, hesitated for a moment, and then called a friend. "Joshua, I need a favor."
Joshua set his terms first. "Let me play with Teddy for two days."
"Deal." For his nephew, Patrick was willing to trade his son.
On his way back to the hotel after meeting Joshua, Randall was deep in thought, almost running a red light. His phone buzzed with a message from Susan. "Randall, I'm done at five. What time are you picking me up?"
Randall replied during the red light, "I'll be there soon."
In the evening, Molly was caught by Sebastian for blocking him. Sebastian cornered her in the bathroom. "Explain yourself."
"Do whatever you want," Molly replied defiantly.
