Chapter 711 Randall Is Angry

After seeing Ollie and his daughter off, Jack personally escorted them to the private elevator.

When Patrick returned to his office, he found Vera comfortably seated in his executive chair.

In the vast empire of the Olteran Group, Vera was the only one who dared to sit in Patrick's chair so brazenly.

With one hand, she held Teddy, who was standing on her lap, and with the other, she casually opened Patrick's drawer to pull out a pack of diapers.

"Who were those two?" Vera asked, a hint of jealousy in her voice.

"A board member from a partner company. Why are you here all of a sudden?" Patrick asked, remembering that Vera had a class soon.

Vera moved to the couch with Teddy, using a wet wipe to change his diaper. "Randall texted me saying there was a woman in your office, and you two were chatting for a while. He said she was beautiful and dressed provocatively, so I rushed over."

"Don't you trust my loyalty?" Patrick looked at Vera with a loving smile as she changed Teddy's diaper.

Vera pouted. "Any wife would overthink if they heard something like that."

After changing Teddy, Vera unbuttoned her shirt to nurse the hungry baby. "What were those two here for anyway?" she asked, suspecting that Patrick had sent them away for a reason.

Patrick handed her his water cup. "I'm a married man. If a woman comes to see me, I meet her in the conference room. They were interested in Randall."

Teddy, halfway through nursing, saw Vera drinking from the cup and wanted to try it too. Vera let him sit on her lap and brought the cup to his mouth, letting him lick the water. She continued talking to Patrick, "No wonder Randall was so eager to inform me. He wanted me to come and chase them away for him. What a schemer."

Susan received a call from Ulysses. "Susan, what's your relationship with Randall?"

Susan pursed her lips, thinking about her ambiguous relationship with Randall. "Nothing much, Dad."

Ulysses sighed. "Susan, let's not stay at someone else's place anymore. Can you move out? I'll find a housekeeper to take care of you."

"Why, Dad?" Susan was confused.

Ulysses asked, "Is the Olteran family setting Randall up on dates?"

Since Vera had a class in the afternoon and had rushed over in the heat out of jealousy, she didn't stay long at the company. Patrick was busy but still took the time to drive Vera to school.

Randall's desk was empty. Patrick told a male employee from the secretarial office, "Go get Randall from the restroom and tell him to get back to work."

"Yes, sir."

Vera, holding Teddy, entered the elevator. "Randall used me today. Just wait until I get home tonight; I'll give him a piece of my mind."

Teddy babbled excitedly.

Vera kissed Teddy several times. "You're the cutest, aren't you, Teddy?"

Back in the car, Teddy, still hungry, searched for food on Vera. "You didn't want the porridge in your dad's office, just waiting for mommy, huh?" Vera unbuttoned her shirt to nurse Teddy.

Patrick looked away. "We should wean him when we get home."

After dropping Vera off at the teaching building just as the bell rang, she ran up the steps two at a time to her class.

Patrick and Teddy returned to the company. Passing by Randall's desk, Patrick, holding Teddy, called out, "Come with me."

Randall closed his file and followed Patrick into his office, looking sheepish.

"You know everything that's going on. I'm talking about Susan. Either give the Morales family a commitment soon, or they'll have Susan move out."

Randall scratched his head. Teddy, curious and playful, watched Randall.

"Uncle Patrick, just tell them I have a girlfriend."

Patrick asked, "And if Ulysses asks who your girlfriend is, what should I say?"

Patrick, being his uncle, was biased and wanted to save a good girl for his nephew. He knew exactly which girl Randall had his eyes on. "Because of you, I can't even speak confidently to Ulysses."

Randall stayed silent.

"Think it over and let me know your decision." Patrick didn't want to push Randall into accepting the position, knowing Vera would argue with him about it later.

Randall left, and Teddy, with nothing else to watch, sat quietly on Patrick's lap, occasionally looking up at him.

Patrick gently rubbed Teddy's cheek. "What are you looking at, buddy?"

Patrick picked up Teddy, who enthusiastically slobbered all over Patrick's face, making him laugh.

With Teddy around, Patrick was always in a good mood. He placed Teddy in his stroller next to his desk and continued working.

In the afternoon, Randall left early to pick up Susan from Evergreen University. "What do you want to eat? I'll take you out," he offered.

Susan, distracted, replied, "Anything's fine."

Randall, unsure of where to go, thought about asking Molly for recommendations. Vera, still nursing, hadn't eaten out in a while.

"Randall, how about we skip dinner and you take me to see the house my dad bought for me?" Susan suggested hesitantly.

Ulysses' words had distracted Susan all afternoon, and seeing Randall didn't excite her as much as before.

Randall, also troubled by Patrick's words, felt uneasy. "Why do you want to see the house?" he asked, pulling over.

Susan looked down, fiddling with her seatbelt. "If you go on dates, staying at your place might cause..."

"That's nonsense! When did I ever go on a date?" Randall snapped.

His stern expression scared Susan, who was used to his carefree attitude.

"Randall, I said 'if.' 'If' means hypothetically," she explained softly.
