Chapter 792 Encountering an Old Friend
"Is it because of the price?" Vera asked, checking herself out in the mirror.
Molly thought for a moment and shook her head. "Nah, the MS Group has always been a high-end luxury brand, and our customers are pretty loaded. This price isn't considered expensive."
Cindy, who was also trying on clothes, chimed in, "Molly, you can't just set the price based on the brand's name. If the price is too high and the quality is just so-so, it won't fly."
Vera nodded. "People are more careful with their money these days. If you had to choose between spending a thousand bucks on a coat or a thousand bucks on a t-shirt, which would you pick?"
Molly looked at the clothes. "The price is pretty much set. You'll get it once you try it on; the cost isn't low."
"We're not saying it's just the price," Vera said, heading to Molly's closet. "Mind if I try on some of your clothes?"
"Go ahead, what's mine is yours," Molly replied.
Vera picked out a few outfits and started mixing and matching. "I think this piece is hard to pair with other clothes. Even if you find something that works, it doesn't look stunning. On its own, it's nice. But those runway models wear such extravagant outfits that they're not practical for everyday wear."
Cindy added, "Pros: it's breathable and cool. They clearly put a lot of thought into the fabric, and it's very comfortable to wear. But from my perspective, the downside is that it only suits certain body types. When Vera and I stand together, the difference is obvious."
Molly crossed her arms, tapping her chin as she watched them.
Soon, a teary-eyed Teddy was knocking on the door with his little hand, and Patrick was coaching him. "Call for Mommy, Teddy."
"Vera," Teddy cried, his voice mixed with sobs.
Vera quickly took off the clothes and opened the door, scooping up the sweaty, crying Teddy. "Teddy, you even learned to call 'Vera' because you were so upset. Don't cry, Mommy's here."
Holding Teddy close, she walked over to Molly. "Molly, asking for our opinions is a bit one-sided. Cindy and I don't represent the general public. Our feedback is just our personal views because we have our own preferences. I focus on overall coordination, and Cindy focuses on comfort, so you can't just rely on what we say." With that, Vera had calmed Teddy down.
She continued, "Your company must have many loyal customers. Why not find a way to ask them? Conduct a survey. A large-scale, random survey might help you identify the issues more easily."
Cindy nodded in agreement.
Teddy snuggled quietly in Vera's arms, content as long as he wasn't separated from her.
"Thanks, Vera."
"Don't mention it."
Holding Teddy, Vera said, "I'm taking this black slip dress with me. I'll return it tomorrow. I can't change clothes while holding Teddy."
Cindy, having changed back into her clothes, smiled at Molly before leaving. "Little Molly, who used to cause a ruckus with Randall and Vera, is all grown up and focused on her career now."
Molly sighed and said, "It's just that I ran into this situation. Honestly, Cindy, I'd still rather be a slacker."
Cindy laughed, her wrinkles deepening. "Nonsense. Get some sleep. I'm off to bed, too."
"Goodnight, Cindy," Molly said, nodding.
Closing the door, Vera returned to the bedroom. Patrick asked, "Did you need something from Molly?"
"Yeah, she needed some help with work."
Vera undressed Teddy and tossed his clothes into a bucket.
The bathtub was too big; even Vera would slip in it, so she wouldn't let Teddy use it. The basin was too small for him now, so Vera used a bucket, which always overflowed when she put him in.
Sebastian returned to the Chase Manor and, not finding Molly at home, called her. "Sebastian, go to sleep. Don't come over. I'll be back tomorrow night. We'll only be apart for a day; it'll be fine."
Sebastian asked, "What time should I wake you up in the morning?"
"Six fifty. The Olteran Manor is far from the office."
Sebastian agreed.
That night, Sebastian was alone in their bedroom.
The next morning, at seven twenty, Vera's phone rang. "Sebastian?"
"Vera, put Teddy in Molly's bed."
Being friends for over a decade, Vera understood immediately!
She picked up the well-fed and content Teddy, took him to Molly's bedroom, lifted the covers, and tucked him in before leaving.
Three minutes later, Molly woke up to a series of screams. Holding Teddy up, she exclaimed, "Thanks a lot, Theodore and your whole family!"
Vera took the still-crying Teddy, who had a few strands of Molly's hair in his hand. "Thank your husband."
After a quick breakfast, Molly rushed to work. Cindy also left, and Vincent and Patrick headed out at the same time.
Vera quietly ate breakfast at the table. Shawn noticed she wasn't as lively as before. "At my age, my bones are still strong. I can take care of Teddy for a few more years. Yesterday, I was bragging to Mr. Roberts that Teddy can stand now. Today, I'll take Teddy to the Roberts Villa for a stroll. If you're full and sleepy, go rest. If you're bored, go out and have fun. Leave Teddy with me; I can handle him."
"No, Dad. My arms are sore from holding him these past few days. He gets tired of the stroller quickly and wants to be held."
Shawn cleverly said, "Vera, you're being silly. Mr. Roberts loves my grandson. At the Roberts Villa, they'll be fighting to hold him. In the morning, Mr. Roberts, in the afternoon, David's family, and in the evening, Jerry's family. I'll just pretend and let them hold the baby."
Vera laughed. "You're good at making your friends do the work."
Shawn replied, "I've learned from being around you three for so long."
Vera, feeling the subtle jab, had nothing to say.
Back at the office, Molly headed straight to the CEO's office.
Sebastian was on his way to the conference room when someone called out, "Sebastian?"
He stopped and turned to see a woman in uniform standing a short distance away. "Marigold Walsh."
Marigold approached, looking at the strong and confident Sebastian. "It really is you. I thought I was mistaken when I saw your back yesterday."
Sebastian glanced at the people entering the room and asked, "What brings you here?"
"The department picked a few of us to attend the meeting, so I came over." Marigold looked up at Sebastian's face, her smile a bit wistful. "I heard from our classmates that you're now a team leader. Congratulations."
Sebastian replied, "Thanks."
Soon, Sam came over and said, "Sebastian, hurry up. The meeting's starting."
He noticed Marigold standing nearby. "Wow, she's beautiful."
Sebastian said, "Let's go inside."
The three of them entered together.
