Chapter 811 Who Is the Most Informed Person
Vera watched Teddy, who had been quiet for a while and was now gnawing on his fingers. "So, how'd you meet her? Does Sebastian know she's back?"
Molly scratched her ear, clearly frustrated. "They're colleagues now, Vera. They see each other every day."
Vera was speechless.
Patrick, who had never had an ex, couldn't really grasp what Molly was feeling.
"So, you think Sebastian didn't come to pick you up today because he's not as into you anymore, and you suspect he's got his eye on that woman, right?"
Molly was silent for a long time before finally nodding. "But I also feel like Sebastian isn't that kind of guy."
Vera was curious. "Molly, Randall, and I have never heard you mention Sebastian dating anyone before." The three of them often spent afternoons together, with Randall doing homework for their friends while Vera and Molly chatted nonstop.
Vera had never heard her friend talk about Sebastian dating anyone.
Molly said, "He dated secretly back then and didn't tell anyone, so I didn't mention it to you guys."
"Sebastian didn't tell anyone, so how do you know she was his first love? Could it be a misunderstanding, or maybe you heard some teasing and believed it?" Vera explained why she trusted Sebastian so much. "I think, since he picks you up every day and occasionally spends weekends with you, he wouldn't have time for a relationship even if he wanted to."
Molly replied, "Vera, when you meet a woman who's interested in Patrick, you'll see right through her intentions. Women are just that sensitive.
I went to find Sebastian four times, and every time, that woman was with him. You know, a man and a woman going to a restaurant together, friends teasing them... And when I went to the field to find him, she was there too. I even joked and asked if she was his girlfriend, and Sebastian just smiled but didn't deny it.
Later, for some reason, he was in a bad mood. Even when I went to find him, he kept his distance and set a bunch of rules for me, all to keep me away from him."
Vera didn't know about this. "So what happened after that? Did you follow the rules Sebastian set?"
Molly nodded blankly. "I did. I thought he broke up because I was too clingy, so I felt guilty and followed the rules. During that time, I went shopping with Randall instead. But Sebastian couldn't hold back and dragged me back, scolding me and ordering me to stay away from Randall. He set the rules and then broke them himself."
"Does Sebastian know you know about his college relationship?"
Molly looked down at Teddy, who was listening intently with his little ears. Since he was young, no family secret escaped Theodore's ears. He knew more than even the most knowledgeable dad.
For example, the crisis between Sebastian and Molly, or when mom secretly complained about dad, or when grandpa stayed up late playing games... Anyway, he was the most informed in the family.
Unfortunately, he couldn't speak.
After all, he was Teddy, and no one avoided him. Molly hugged her little cutie tightly. "Sebastian doesn't know I know because he never told me. He probably still thinks I don't know anything. Today, I ran into that woman while holding Teddy. She was flustered, and I was nervous."
Molly's mind was a mess, and Vera scratched her head, unsure of what to do. Teddy saw his mom scratching her head and mimicked her, but couldn't quite manage it. "Dad, Daddy."
Vera called out to the backyard, "Patrick, Teddy's calling you."
Soon, Patrick appeared and took Teddy, who was always listening to secrets. "Mosquitoes are biting outside. Let's talk inside."
The two sisters walked inside together. Vera comforted Molly, "Don't overthink it. Even if there were old feelings, Sebastian isn't the type to be irresponsible. He has a family now; he won't rekindle old flames."
Molly nodded.
In the living room, Patrick asked Vera, "Didn't you and Molly want to go out? Have you picked a place? I have time tomorrow and can take you."
Vera glanced at her friend and made a quick decision. "Patrick, my arm's not feeling well. Let's not go this week, okay?"
"Is it hurting again? Let me see." He checked Vera's arm, and Teddy tried to take off his mom's wrist brace but couldn't, so he grabbed her hand and tried to chew on it.
That night, Teddy was back in his familiar bedroom with his parents. Patrick held Teddy and fed him formula. "Vera, I have a business trip to Vesperia next week. Do you want to come along?"
Vera hadn't reacted yet, but Teddy immediately put down his bottle, looked up at Patrick, and smiled sweetly. "Hey, Daddy."
Patrick tapped Teddy's nose. "Not you, just your mom."
Vera initially wanted to agree without hesitation, but thinking about her conversation with Molly tonight, she worried about leaving Molly without someone to talk to. "I won't go."
"What's wrong?" Patrick thought Vera would definitely want to go, so her sudden refusal surprised him.
Vera said, "Honey, I can't explain it to you."
"If you're worried about your arm, the brace comes off next week. We can go together, and I'll carry the baby."
Vera was conflicted but shook her head. "No."
Patrick knew Vera well. "Then I won't book the tickets yet. We'll wait until you're sure."
Vera was speechless. Patrick's words made it seem like she would change her mind at any moment.
Teddy was lulled to sleep in his parents' arms and then moved to his nursery. Molly opened her door. "Patrick, I miss Teddy."
So, the sleeping Teddy was transferred to Molly's arms, and she returned to her bedroom with the peacefully sleeping Teddy.
The next day, Molly was the first to wake up.
When Vera went to check on Teddy, Molly and Randall were happily playing in the living room. "Vera, I'm heading back to the Chase family after breakfast."
"Are you okay?" Vera asked, concerned.
Molly felt much better after a night's sleep. "What's the big deal? It's not like he's cheating. I still trust Sebastian's loyalty."
She placed the baby on Vera's lap. "Alright, I'm heading out."
"Oh, okay."
Early in the morning, Molly left. Shawn came downstairs and found out she had left. He stood at the door and sighed, "God, why didn't she say goodbye to me?"
